Anyone know the doubles/mini schedule for Porter/Greenbelt?

I think the night mini has moved to the Lake on Thursdays during daylight savings

Why don't we start running mini's. Good way to raise sponsorship money. We can give out vouchers good at Mr. Jim's :D

are you offering to run these? I would help maybe with a few a year, but I have done this in the past for a few years and just don't enjoy all the hassles that come with it

I think we could have a successful mini as long as we split up the responsibility. Maybe the thursday night STD could become what we tried to make it a couple years ago ;)

my problem is with evening golf. I make most of my money at night, therefore I need to be there.

However a noon round on Saturdays or Sundays would be cool. Jimmy Porter/Greenbelt flip.

1st week of the month Jimmy Porter
2nd week of the month Greenbelt
3rd week Jimmy Portere
4th week Greenbelt
5th week, wildcard??? TBA

I have no problem committing to running it once a month.

What about a monthly mini

1st week Jimmy Porter
3rd week Greenbelt

one or two round.

Or monthly big fun using both courses on the 1st or second weekend.

wouldn't that be bi-monthly :D

I think a monthly might be the best idea..both courses..lunch break inbetween...time to visit the local food establishments..drum up MJCO sponsorship..a not over-do it..

with the TX tourney schedule we may want to move it around instead of set something in stone..as a "1st week, 2nd week, ect"

maybe we should all get together some weekend and spread the ideas..I know I am jumping back into a can of worms here as running a club for 2yrs was great and also painful..

but I would like to see more on our side of town..heck..we have more current PDGA members through our club than the ADGA currently..

i don't think a mini on saturday afternoon would work. you run into competition from the lake. given a choice, when it's 100 degree's out i'll play at the lake, not porter or gb.

monthly :D

the lake crew is going to do their schedule no matter, but there are still tons of golfers that don't go out there..that is the beauty of Dallas golf..so many players

They also run their minis against Texas tourney's...some players will play tournaments, some minis and some casual

in the smaller OKC field there were no mini's if a tourney was going on..that really doesn't apply here..but if some people want to make it a reality I will lend a hand

Nascar and his crew alone add 20+ golfers...and we can get them to play in the daytime :D

I like the once a month idea. Two round, one at each course with a entry fee of something like $10.

$2 ace pot
$8 am payout or $7 pro payout (pro's donate $1 to the club for future sponsorship)

OR

$15 entry fee

$3 to $5 ace pot (to get the pot bigger faster)

100% payout to Am's, $1 donation from Pro's.

We could make the minis the 1st weekend without a DFW area tournament, I bet I could run or be at most of them. 10am start time, second round about 1-2pm.

How long does it take to play a round in a mini???? It has been so long I can't remember.

I Like the monthly idea but I think we should alternate the courses. One month play Porter/Porter and then the next play both rounds at GB.

as I drifted through a few of our threads...

Currently the old mini's at GB and Porter that were run by Nascar, Old Man and others are on hold.

They are trying to get Chops to run it but last weekend we all talked about who was going to cover their glow rounds this year.

I am not much of a night golf fan and many of their crew can't play until after 6pm so that is why they have always started then, but if anyone wants to help them roll for this year it is always better to see more and more players on the courses in Carrollton
