Since we're an official club now... do we want an official website? I think this forum suffices for posting, but do we want something more? I can host it on my server, and I'll buy the domain name, but we need to make some decisions as a group before I go down that path.
First, how many of us would like to have a website to keep track of tourney schedules, sponsorship opportunities, etc.? It won't be much to maintain, but it will require some initial input from the group.
Second, if we do decide to start using our own website, what do we want the domainname to be? Please, nobody go out and buy any of these, but some currently available options are:
OMBvsYGB.com
OMB-YGB.com
OMBYGB.com
OMBYGBDGC.com
I'm sure there are more out there, but those are the obvious ones.
Anyway, give me some feedback here and i'll get to work.
Is there not a way to transfer the contents of the omb-ygb thread to this affiliate club page. Its a shame that you guys have to abandon the longest running thread on the MB.
Just curious?

As cheap as domain names go for currently it probably couldn't hurt but I wonder if it would be used
I would love to see club member ratings tracked through the year, tournament results from members, Thursday golf results, sponorship information and maybe even a disc trader section

If Theo ever takes me up on my offer to help out with IT... I could move it in a matter of seconds. That level of access and my contribution to the PDGA would also give us (and lots of other people) the ability to retrive data from the PDGA's database on an as-needed basis. Ratings, scores, etc could all be made available... if they would let me do the work ;)
more on that later, and that reminds me... I need to return a couple of emails. Back to the subject at hand, which somain name do you guys want me to grab?

If I have to explain that to you, you probably wouldn't understand anyway ;)
so two votes for OMBvsYGB.com. Any more? I plan on making this site a fun little side project that I'll use to develop new DG-related web toys. we'll use all the stuff I plan on chargin other people for in the near future :)

Windy with scattered showers.
It was a beautiful place to play, and a very interesting course. Like you, I played it much better the second time around, but the second time didn't count.

Why do "we" need a website?

well... it doesn't cost us anything and it could end up being a good place to keep scores, aces, course info, sponsorship info, etc. It could also end up being very unused. I suppose only time will tell ;)

Sadly, I'm not. Heading to Illinois for the week to show off the kid to all the relatives.
