One FINAL event of the 2006 season. Here you can earn PDGA points, contribute to your rating, and be a part of history.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 30th, 2006.

This is the first event ever being held at the brand new Dineen Disc Golf Course (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=2536). Thanks to a local enthusiast, you can view some pictures (http://flickr.com/photos/evilmousse/sets/72157594364610686/) of the course.

Ideally I'd to set up the course in one of four ways. All short pins, all long pins, alternating short / long with holes 1-18, or alternating long / short 1-18. I'm not sure what is all doable just yet but I'll see what I can get done. (With regards to time we will almost for sure not be playing ALL of the pins in ALL of the long positions.)

The recent snowfall has melted considerably but who knows what we'll have 3 weeks from now. The tees should be great regardless of the snow cover.

Like always, registration is available either online or via snail-mail. Online Registration (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=131) is available. If you need my address just shoot me an e-mail or give me a call and I'll gladly provide it.

It looks like I'll be trying the 'trophy only' option for the first time at this event. I'm still working on the exact numbers and how I'm going to do it but we'll give it a try.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regular online registration can be found here: Last Call Pre Registration (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=131)

With all of this nice weather we're having I think I'm going to go out to Dineen and move a few pins around sometime soon.

Whenever I get that done I'll be sure to post which positions they all are in.

Thanks - T-Dogg

Due to the recent heat wave in Wisconsin it looks like we will have a pretty snow-less event at the Dineen course in 2 weeks. I was out there last week and the ground was wet but there was virtually no snow. I also just checked the weather forecast and for the next 10 days we are not scheduled to have any snow. It's even supposed to get up near 50 this week!

If the weather is warm and the course doesn't have snow I think we are going to see a ton of people at this event. Please feel free to mail in your entries (still PLENTY of time for that) or go online and get it done quickly and easily. I will also let people know that I'm going to start offering additional rewards/incentives for the people that do choose to register via www.takeflighttoday.com. (http://www.takeflighttoday.com.)

Get signed up today because otherwise it will be a mad dash at the last minute and then someone gets shut out or upset! Thanks!

Any info on prices for the trophy-only option? Is there going to be a trophy only option?
Thanks

Hey there Carla - sorry about the delay. I'll include the info in the mass e-mail I'm going to send out tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Thanks!

<font color="blue"> Trophies are on order! The only problem is that the pre-registration (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=6400) is a little light right now. I don't want to order trophies if we aren't going to have a division but I don't want to skip ordering trophies if we are going to have 10 people there. I hope to see more pre-registrations so I can get the right amount of trophies made up!

Thanks guys!

Event Registration information (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=131)

Also if you wish to participate as a TROPHY ONLY player you may do so by paying HALF of the posted entry fee that is shown online. So that would break down like such: Rec $10, Int $15, Adv W $15, Adv M $15, Adv $20, Pro M $20, Open $25. CONTACT me if you wish to do this and I'll arrange for it.

Am player's will receive a player's pack and the chance to win a trophy. Pro M and Open will only be playing for a trophy in their respective division. </font>

I received a few more registrations today. I've also had a handful of people say that they've dropped them in the mail so I'll see those soon too.

Lots of people are calling or e-mailing asking what the turnout will be. It's tough to say but if you sign up now you'll be on the list versus asking who else is going to be on the list. High near 44 DEGREES on Saturday!

4 or 5 more registrations rolled in today. I won't predict a sell out at 72 but it certainly looks like steam is gaining more and more each day!

Get registered online so things run smoothly that day. Also, day of entry fees are higher on Saturday then if you do it online today, tomorrow or Friday.

I forgot to mention.

I have all of the newest Star plastics in stock for this event. Star Gators, Star Spiders, Star Ryhnos, Star Sharks, Star Big Bead Aviars, and Star Eagles. I'll bring them all out there on Saturday.

Also, pins are all moved to the short positions for the event.

41 degrees and no rain! Sounds like a pretty darn good forecast for a December 30th C-Tier!

We now have at least 3 states represented this weekend and I added 4 or 5 more people today! Looks like the weather will cooperate nicely and it should be a great time.

Don't get turned shut out of this event! Online Pre-Registration (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=131) is still available.

Here is the list (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=6400) of pre-registered players! We have sweet trophies for each division and all am players will receive a funny money voucher good for LDS merchandise!

It would be cool if it filled at foursomes, especially for Dec 30th! I know you love day-of registrants too.

Be sure and let us know who throws the -16 on the short layout.

discglfr
Dec 30 2006, 01:03 AM
No one will shoot -16 during a single round. My prediction is that a -12 will be the hot round first round. Maybe the same or possibly a -13 second round. NO one will shot -14 or better even with these in the 'short' positions, mild 40 degree weather, and only 5 to 10 mph winds (which are pretty calm for out there).

Any friendly wagers on the score predictions?

Bed time soon so we can get up to run this fun event tomorrow.

Okay, I see you, olie, heeren, schwieger, and trygve are registered. I'll bet the winner throws -26. (I'll push a litle on your estimate of -12 and -13, but you didn't say it would even be the same player). I'd put my money on Heeren - I hope he's played there before too!

-16 may be pushing it sure, but 12-14s are definitely there. Especially on a decent calm day like today.

You should have predicted a score Terry. I'm a good sport though, I'll buy you a beer if you find yourself up here for an event or even a round.

Awesome - 52 players today.

Ironic - it looks like I nailed part of this right on the head! SCORES (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=6400&year=2006&includeRatings=1) are posted and looks like -12 was indeed the hottest score first round! I was wrong in that no one shot -12 or -13 second round but instead -10 was the hottest round so that means the top score on the day was -22.

As for your boy Heeren - not so much. Missed cashing for only the 3rd time of the year. Good thing you didn't have money on him huh?

Fun day, unbelievable weather, great players, and everything else we could possibly ask for.

See you in two weeks at the Random Beaver Round Up!!!

GREAT tourney Terry !

Good comradery, weather, and fun!

"kudo's" to J.Rumble ! I pulled out all the Master tricks....and didn't phase him a bit ! Ha. (bowing respectfully)

The boys are enjoying thier quad's, and Jacob loves the bag. Your service in taking care of our pdga renewal as well, all lends credit to your efforts for me as a Disc Golf father, and my family.

Met some old friends from Illinois, saw some friends I haven't seen in awhile, and all filled the day with laughs with NO animosity to none who couldn't be there.

Hope you had a great discin day as well ! I can't think of a disc golfer who wouldn't have been out playing disc golf today ! Of course unless thier wife wouldn't let them ! Ha.
