Terry Toolen, are you ok?

I paid for a disc on ebay over 3 weeks ago and never heard anything....ever.

He has a perfect feedback of 25, so I'm sure something crazy happened but ive tried 6 times to email/ get a message out and nothing. Hope all is well.

Any help?

Just wondering when/if the package went out. I let the paypal claim clock run out so I'm kind of hanging out there. If you get it to me I'll post stellar feedback with no mention of this matter. I hope you paid the extra dollar for insurance and youll get the tracking number too!

Toolen, i think he's asking for his disc. I hope this is resolved soon b/c i hate having to read through this crap. We have more important things to discuss. Manatees, hamsters, jugs, and now Lee's guinea pigs are the first things that come to mind. Take care of it already. Sheesh! :D

Sep 27 2006, 11:48 AM
Roc Steady. Take a pill dude! I spoke with toolen last night. Your " precious " is on the way. I sure am glad all this fuss was made about this, collectivly we have accomplished sooooo much. ( hard to detect sarchasm via the MB ) Toolen is a cool cat, and your attempt to slanderize him is not leaving a good impression on this MB. Sit back, relax, meditate, do something other that fanatasize over a DISC. Me and my guinea pig wish not to discuss this matter any further!

What are you talking about Lee.

This guy ordered this disc at least 3 weeks ago, and he has every right to be frustrated with the lack of effort on somebodies part to get him the product which he purchaced.

Sep 27 2006, 01:17 PM
Yes, that is true. But in this wonderful world we live in we have to accept that " $ hit happens "
I do not believe that jumping on a MB , and slandering the individual repsonisble is the best method of rectifying this issue. Perhaps I am alone in thinking that having the Cajone's to talk to somebody man-to-man, is a much more effective means of resolution. Furthermore, I am not going to stand by and watch a friend get berated. Are there circumstances that I am unaware of in this topic, YES. Was rocsteady's method of resolving this issue appropriate, IMO , the answer is no. You know Toolen, you have been playing his events for years, do you not value what he does in our " community ". Or, at least , do you not value what might be considered as a friendship with toolen. I do!

Dave Started the thread on 9/6 with an enquiry about Terry's health and stated his concern that somehting bad must have happened because Terry's rating showed him to be a standup guy and unlikely to try and stiff him.

The next post is kind of negative because he has still not heard back from Terry. It mentions some rumours about a TD report being filed late and the fact that the window for filing for a refund will be closing soon.

He receives multiple statements from other Texas players that promise to make good on Terry's sale if he fails to come through and lets the window on filing a formal complaint close.

And now almost a week after his window for filing a dispute has closed, he still has no shipping information. I think he has shown remarkable restraint in the face of not getting a response to repeated requests for information.

The only thing slightly slanderous I have seen is his posting of rumours concerning a TD report of which he would have no direct knowledge. Everything else seems to be a recounting of the facts as he knows them with an emphasis on getting what he paid for as quickly and easily as possible.

I've seen much worse on here for much more easily replaced plastic.

yo Lee, i understand your intentions, but dont rag on John for calling this out. review the thread like Gary suggests , then decide who you would rather stand with. if the VPO and the Club Championships were a bit more organized maybe so many people wouldnt be so worried that these new issues add to the growing uncertainties surrounding our club.

My thoughts exactly.

Sep 27 2006, 05:26 PM
"Well, still no contact from Toolen after 1 month. The only one who is taking effort (besides me, and surprisingly, my mail carrier) is a very cool friend of Toolen. If he doesnt get me my goods, im looking forward to chronicling the prosecution efforts HERE! Ive done some preliminary research and If it involves the US postal system (like contracting to use the system to complete contracts), its a good chance that the person WILL BE SLAMMED. Also, when an Ebay auction has been paid for with Paypal, youve got an iron clad case AND they (Ebay now owns Paypal) have stepped up there prosecution efforts to answer the increase in this activity. Normally I'm not such a jerk, but him NEVER answering my many emails has driven me insane! I can just picture him reading them and chuckling, while sitting back and relaxing. It isn't like you havnt been warned, Terry Toolen! "

This was a statement made by Rocsteady on a similar thread,on this MB, under PDGA tournament info.

Everybody , please understand that this is the statement I am refering to. Off of this thread, you do not get the whole picture. Little different isnt it!

Those whom may know Terry, will know that he has recently changed jobs, and his internet accessibility is somewhat less than it used to be. Like I said earlier " $ hit happens "

I refuse to sit by and let a friend "GET SLAMMED" when there are extenuating circumstances present. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Please feel free to go back and review the original thread started on this topic!

Pat, club issues are of no concern to me. For I am not a member! ( YET ) I was only standing up for a friend whom as of right now, has not a voice on the internet! Could things and issues with the ADGA be different right now, YES. Is anybody stepping up and doing anything about it , not that I have seen. IMO, it is really hard to be critical of people when they VOLUNTEER their time for a good cause. Could more be done to better the Club Championships / VPO , always. Could more people step up and make a contribution towards the cause, sure. Unfortunately that is the problem with what we do, to many players, not enough workers. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS OUT OF CONTEXT! I know there is a fabulous following of the ADGA, and all of its members are great people. I wish I could be more involved. But time is always an issue with me!

I don't think he was ragging on me. He's just defending Toolen, as we all should to a certain degree. Glad to read that it should be settled soon, as the disc is claimed to be in the mail.

The CC's and VPO take a lot of work....a lot of volunteered, thankLESS work. I for one can't do much more than write a check for a keg and donate some QUALITY plastic. We really need to have some of the *members* that have taken from this club year after year STEP UP. The club is full of people that have NEVER done anything except show up late for minis and TAKE, TAKE, TAKE.

Anyways, let's hope that the club is in good shape(financially, and spiritually), and that we can pull together some quality events with the short time frame we'll be working with. So, lets pull off a few big shows so we can resume the more important hamster, manatee, wife swapping, and now guinea pig talk.

There's a new game
We like to play you see
A game with added reality
You treat me like a hamster
Get me down on my knees

We call it master and servant
We call it master and servant

It's a lot like life
This play between the sheets
With you on top and me underneath
Forget all about equality

Let's play master and servant
Let's play master and servant

It's a lot like life
And that's what's appealing
If you despise that throwaway feeling
From disposable fun
Then this is the one

Domination's the name of the game
In bed or in life
They're both just the same
Except in one you're fulfilled
At the end of the day

Let's play master and servant
Let's play master and servant

Let's play master and servant
Come on master and servant

This was the last information ive gotten, from 9/27. And Discboomer, the auction ended August 18th. If youve walked out to your mailbox 50 times looking for an ebay item, youll understand how it feels. This silly disc has cost me more in time and grief than any 2 discs ive ever bought.

My $.02 seems like Toolen is a tool for not shipping the disc. I know life can sometimes be rough but he had time to list the disc and obviously had time to accept the payment so what could be the hold up? I know it is a long shot, but today is the cut off.

Doesn't look like it! I would have finished the year with the elusive 1000+ rating if it had been. So So SAD!

Current Rating: 997

C'mon Vinnie. You of all people should know that the paperwork is part of the tournament. THE PLAYERS PAID FOR THIS SERVICE to be completed, and it was not. Don't you think someone would have stepped up and filed the paperwork had they known it WAS NOT going to be done? THE PLAYERS PAID FOR THIS SERVICE

who got paid?

I sent my money to the TD.

I pay for the things that I can read in the sanctioning agreement that the TD of a sanctioned event has agreed to provide to the players. This includes following the rules, expected levels of payout, and timely filing of results with the PDGA so my rating stays up to date.

Anything delivered above and beyond those basics are things that would encourage me to pay higher entry fees and return to that event. Any of those things not done encourage me to avoid the event in the future.

There would be no ADGA/VPO without the Chamberlains. Definitely no future without them. They should get 95% of credit for any positive about ADGA/VPO 2006.
However, most of the problems currently with ADGA/VPO should not be blamed on them. Some things are just beyond their control.

Chris, I don't know you from a hole in the wall, but from the few times I have been around you, I think the assessment that the local in question made about the way you treat people was fairly accurate.
