I will be running this awesome fun and unique event this year. Due to gracious sponsers, I have already raised 355 dollars for this event and it keeps growing!!
I have a flyer made, but it is not up on the web yet. As soon as I can a link posted, it will be up.
Basics (that is different from the past)....
- This event will be combined this year - pros and ams together
- The field, due to time issues, will be limited to 72. NO EXCUSES!
- There will be an overall pro and am champion like usual, but there will only be 5 finalists in each event, regardless of division.
-DDC will be Friday in the Cedar Hills outfield at 2 PM. Ams are welcome to play and can receive the prizes if they finish in the money, but they will not recieve overall points for playin in this.
- The field, due to time issues, will be limited to 72. NO EXCUSES!
- Ams MAY NOT play in the pro division in distance or whatever - everyone will be in the same division for every event (except DDC)
And last but not least
- The field, due to time issues, will be limited to 72. NO EXCUSES!

Double Disc Court. A fun game w/ lots of action. 2 discs being thrown at the same time with 2 sets of teams of 2 each defending their large square. Couldn't explain all the rules to u. There are quite a few.

haha that would be awesome.
However, this tournament is rich with tradition and I intended to keep it that way, only with a few small personal ideas and touches.
Hope you can make it down!

For those who do not know about the field events please see the WFDF rules site. WFDF rules (http://www.wfdf.org/index.php?page=rules/index.htm)
The field events are a blast. Great Fun with the Frisbee Family. Sign up early.
Craig, I don't think that your Condor will be agreed upon by the players in your pick up Guts game. Bring a Frisbee Pro model and we'll talk.

MTL Brand typo?
The winner of a custom full color stamped Maryland mini is Scotty Faison.
That was an intentional error to see who would pick on me first and that person would get a prize. Congrats!

We got about 3 or 4 registrations over the weekend at the BVC.

I've been pouring some concrete in and on tees at Kentwood and have found that pouring right before dark is the best way to avoid the many derelict's looking for something to destroy or vandalize. Let me know if I can help

Just wondering what pin positions will be played at this event? I must have missed it if its on this thread and its not listed on the flyer.
Very valid question.
I feel that this is an original classic event. Lots of old school players and lots of old school events. Thus, we will be in an "old school theme"
Also, I feel it is not fair to out of town golfers who do not know a course if we move pins and would never play a different layout unless it was clear there were two pin placements and where they were / they are two sets of tees that make it obvious where the "second course" is.
Based on these two things, all pins will be in the original placement and we will not play the long tee on hole 10. All other long tees will be used every round for every division.
Hole 8 will have a progressive drop zone - first OB shot takes you to the short tee, second takes you to a drop zone located in bounds across the logs.
This whole process was a very tough decision b/c the gold course has come along way, but I feel that the best decision for this event is 3 rounds from the above posted layout.

That's because you're throwin Discraft...just kiddin...I'm not as "brand name" prejudice as you. :DBoth holes 8 and 10 long pad seem to be a desperate attempt at a "championship or Gold" level hole but are really just tweaked tee pads to a regular hole. Challenging for sure, the awkwardness reminds me of safari holes.

Congrats to Dave Hesselberth and his partner for winning DDC. Richard Paschal and his partner came in second. There was a 100 dollar purse for DDC and we had 8 teams involved.
Only 9 pros registered for the tournament showed up (the rest were not in the tournament) making the overall battle a race btween 9 players.
Recieving 3 points was Richard. 7 points to GTW and Mike Hofmann. 9 points to MTL and Will Kuper. 11 points to Carter Allen and Brent Mabry. The rest of the pro players will recieve aprox 34 points for this event.
See everyone in the AM!
