Not heading to Amateur Worlds this year? IOS #4 @ Rockford, IL is going to be monstrous and a must play Midwest event. Mark July 29th (Adv/Pro) or 30th (Int/Rec/Jr) on your calendar for this Am/Pro B-Tier event.

Last year 167 players played this inaugural event ranking it tied for 13th of most attened PDGA events in 2005. IOS attendance has skyrocketed this year up 55%. If the trend continues over 250 players will be at Rockford. On average there have been 23 pros, 54 advanced, 44 intermediate, and 46 recreational players at each of the first three events. There have also been approximately 15 women at each event playing various divisions.

Two pools of 72 players on both courses will limit play to 4-somes each day. 42 holes will be played and there will be a Final 4 Safari for the top 4 Open players. IOS #4 is an Am Nationals qualifying event (www.amnationals.com). The ace pool will be starting at over $500.00 on the 29th.

Marshall Street (http://www.marshallstreetdiscgolf.com) has sponsored 18 items as CTP's for the weekend. Thank you Marshall Street! Combining the Marshall Street CTP's with our usual CTP's there will be approximately 50 CTP's split between the 2 days. We strongly encourage you to preregister for this event. This is worth reading even if you live 500 miles away.

The Illinois State Coordinator's USDGC Exemption will be given away in an open competition at this event. Anyone who plays on Saturday and shoots the best score of those who say they want to go will win it. There are no residency requirements.

The Peoria Open is under new management this year with Oldman's blessings. It is a brasscash.com event. We run great events for amateurs. For pros, 100% PDGA payouts [that means we deduct the $2 fees but not the extremely modest trophy].

You got 48 hours to get the car packed. I've only got 24. I'll see you there.
