I'm not sure where, or if I'm staying in Ludington on Saturday evening. May just make it an early morning trip. All I know is that I don't want to pay for a place to stay.

Might be there if I can make enough money selling discs since I have no job and have been looking for a while with no luck!!! Looks like my plans for disc golf this summer may be over..........Might not make worlds or anything big this year unless I can find a J O B ASAP!!! If anyone knows of anyone that is hiring please let me know so I can make my way back onto the tournament scene before the season is over!!!
Oh and if someone wants to sponsor my entry fee I will give them half of my winnings!!!
Thanks and hope to see you up there!!!

How many holes is that? I've never played anything at Ludington..
DSproAVIAR
May 24 2006, 04:27 PM
Waa?!?
3 Championship courses built on huge forested dunes. All 24 holes.
Beauty- -Shorter, tighter, lots of hyzers.
Beast- Longer, a bit more open, lots of elevation.
Goliath- HUGE, a few 700-800 footers, insane elevation, a challenge.
At least that's how I remember them when I played there about 18 months ago. I heard they took out Beauty, but I'm not sure.

They made us pull the baskets so they could log beauty. We went out and redesigned beauty. They never logged beauty. We put back in beauty.

GR is bringing quite a crew. I've heard of about 10 of us that will be there. Should be a pretty good turnout for the weekend..... I'm excited to finally play there.

So Beauty is back in the layout from last year? Or was it changed? Are there any raskets left?

Same ol' layout, give or take a couple inches here and there. 3ish raskets were in when I was out there Tuesday. The might be out now and replaced with chainstars.

Wind Shmind....Pat, you going to tear it up on your home turf?
Well, it depends on 2 things:
1. The Wind. With a beauty/goliath combo, it's gonna take a shift in the wind between rounds for me to score my best. South -> North wind for beauty and a West->East wind for goliath. I'd say that as the wind speed goes up, my chances of tearing it up increases as I'm used to playing these courses in up to 40mph winds (gusting higher).
2. My Poison Ivy. Man do I have some poison ivy. It's in the recession phase, but it was really throwing off my putting tuesday. If it's not cleared up, expect me to be in the middle of the pack, if it has, I hope to be in the top third.
Just cuz it's my home course doesn't mean I'm any good at it.

DSproAVIAR
May 26 2006, 02:00 PM
I bet $48 I can play better than other Amateurs. If I win the bet, I get a bunch of sweet JBird discs. I think alot of AM1's have similar bets.

But I'll play you for some CTP dollars if we're in the same group! Validation needed, of course.

Oh yeah..I had a 3 on Hole # 10 at Timber Ridge. I'm gonna wager that this is the first 3 on this hole EVER. Stubby, can you back up this claim? Had 2 witnesses.... 759 feet uphill all the way.
This hole plays a good 900+ I sh*t you not.
Twas a good night.
However, I will not mention my score

Triples had a moderate turnout. Maybe 10 teams. Doubles was great tonight, had 39 teams, 12 of those were am-1. Paul Jefferies and I took 3rd with a -12 for beuty and -11 on beast. We shot 18 mediocre holes, that round, but the round was 24. We finished with 5 birdies in 6 holes, getting: 18,2,3,4 and A. I parked 18 with a z surge, he hit a 20 footer there into a 15mph head wind. I parked 2 and 3 with a z buzzz. he parked 4 and I missed high. Finally, parked A with an ESP avenger. Tomorrow is gonna ROCK.
2 aces today, got to see keith aten hit one on beuty 16. It hit a tree straight into the basket. I got all the chains on 2 but it didn't stay in. The other ace was on beast, but I don't remember who got it.

I have in my possession, a spreadsheet that, if Jeff ever gets me the right info, will be submitted online and we'll actually have results! In the mean time......
I shot horribly.
z Vaughn z
May 31 2006, 12:31 AM
I shot pretty poorly as well. This tournament was a wakeup call for what I need to work on.
11 birdies on beauty, combined with two 5's and two 4's make for a mediocre -5..but only two strokes out.
0 birdies on Goliath, combined with seven 4's. My par on 18 definately the highlight of the day. The baskets had a hex on my disc, nothing would stick! Not even three or four great putts.
This says it all--> I get to the last hole of the day, still birdie-less on the round. Hole #7 on Goliath...great shot I have a favorable 23 footer, slightly uphill. Perfect putt, and bam...off the center pole, and right back at me rolling to 20 feet. And of course I miss the second putt for a brutal 4.
Goliath had my number...first tournament round EVER without a 2.
Again, I have come to realize my putting is streaky at best...currently working on a putting overhaul. Gotta get consistant before Worlds so I can show them Tulsans what Michigan is all about!

Pat, just take my name off the results list. I should be somewhere near the bottom.
