The entry form is now online: Entry Form (http://www.normandiscgolf.com/docs/statesEntry.pdf)
It can also be found by going to the calendar and selecting the tournament. I put the link inside of the tournament description.
Terrils computer must be "strickened" with drunkness
No it wasn't Terrill's computer at all. It was MINE.
Well actually it appears that it wasn't mine either.
The entry form wasn't up on the Norman Disc Golf Association web page. It is up now though.
Thank you Danny and Chrisp.

Only 12 days left to register on www.TitleDisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com/Events/31stOFDSC.php)
Is it going to be 2 round's at Dolese 2 round's at Griffin??
chrispfrisbee
Jun 05 2006, 02:04 AM
One at Dolese and One at Griffin.
Just yesterday I heard about the one round per day.
Does this mean you will be allowing more than 90 players and doing a flight start time?
Please tell us more about this one round a day. Will it be early morning rounds, flight start times, etc?
Thanks.

One at Dolese and One at Griffin.
Only 2 round's?!
Is this correct?
2 day tournament...2 total rounds of disc golf?
We probably need some more details on the one round per day thing...I'm never opposed to trying out something new.

And a Final 9 for Adv. and Open. Folks, this is not JUST a disc golf tournament. There are 5 other events going on as well. And that's what the 2 rounds is about. People have forgotten about the state championships as being an OVERALL tournament. It's not just the Disc Golf State Championships....it's the Flying Disc State Championships.
For the people that are competing in ALL of the events, 3 rounds and a Final 9 was just too much golf. The field events saw very poor entrance rates. This is all just an effort to put the focus back on the field events, which it seems like alot of people have forgotten about.
I've always said that if there were enough interest, we could go above 90 and have flights. So far I haven't seen that interest...only 11 days and counting to sign up online.
I've had this info about the 2 rounds up for months now on TitleDisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com) why has no one said anything until now?
Maybe there isn't alot of interest in this tournament because it is a 2 day event and there is only 2 round's..hmmmmm??? oh well.. I would rather play in a tournament with 2 round's and have smoothly ran than play in a tournament with 4 round's and it be poorly ran..

You know that most don't ask questions until the tournament draws closer.
By the way what time is the players meeting on Saturday at Dolese?
Could be that I've missed that somewhere as well. :D

I just assumed it was a 4 round event  I don't pre-register unless I know the event is going to fill.
Considering the winner of the DISC GOLF portion of the event gets a USDGC invite I believe Disc Golf should be more important than the field events. But this is your gig so my opinion really does not matter.
You guys will have a successfull event regardless.

I think that most golfers do not care about field events, with the exception of distance and putting which actually has to do with disc golf. Most golfers these days have never done any of the other events and could care less. I believe that may be they should be seperated out from a PDGA event.
Yea the only field event's i will be playing is Putting and distance

Jun 07 2006, 10:10 AM
Well there you go .....That's what this tournament is about. To expose younger, new disc golfer's to some of the "other" disc sports and provide a venue to try them out.
Imagine..if you never got exposed to disc golf..........
MC..I totally respect your opinion and others and it does matter.
States is a one of a kind tournament.. Kevin decides who gets the USDGC bid, and he gave it to the best score at this tournament.
The winner of the USDGC bid will undoubtedly be playing 45 holes of disc golf. The minimum for a B-Tier is 36. Is this not enough golf? Considering that the winner will more than likely be playing at least two of the field events if not more.
I personally play all of the events except Freestyle, even though I would like to... I would just embarass myself
From personal experience, even 3 rounds is a lot of golf if your doing all the field events ( I didn't even have time to play freestyle in 04)
To me this tournament is about exposing "golfers" to something new, and give them time to try it out, and it will with only two rounds.

To be honest, I don't have much interest in playing the field events, but I am interested in watching, especailly the Ultimate team you will have there.
I am dissapointed that it will only be one round per day, but I am hoping that we'll see some new faces out there. Have you posted a flyer at the courses?

Jun 15 2006, 11:08 PM
Hey- I'm usually home by 5:45. Don't think Griffin will be do-able with Ava in tow. Griffin can make for a long round! They are having doubles out there tomorrow night though. Maybe if I work through my lunch, I can see about cutting out an hour early...I'll see what I can do and give ya a call tomorrow.
Melissa
Jun 16 2006, 12:00 AM
No, I'm not wanting to play doubles or even play for that matter. Maybe just throw around a little. I've never seen Griffin before. And I've only played Dolese twice. This should make for an interesting weekend! Let me know what's going on with work tomorrow. I'm gonna try to go see a couple of my delinquents in Norman tomorrow afternoon...that way I'll already be there!

On a side note, two chain assemblies were stolen from Griffin on Friday or Saturday night (Holes 12 & 13). There is a reward for information that leads to the return of these chain assemblies.

Jun 19 2006, 09:56 AM
I guess it is safe to assume they had not been welded?
chrispfrisbee
Jun 19 2006, 10:25 AM
No they were not welded. Are you guys welding all your targets before you put them in? I hope so, because we are learning the hard way! :(
twoputtok
Jun 19 2006, 10:37 AM
We have them all welded at the top of the chain assembly and at the bottom of the basket at the pole right after installation. ;)
danniestacey
Jun 19 2006, 10:46 AM
I called the city this morning and left a message for them to call me. I am going to see if they can get them welded for us sometime this week.
It's weird that they took the chains and left the baskets.
