Ok Everybody the its time again for the Northwest Doubles Challenge. Looks like the dates are going to be July 1st and 2nd. I really wanted to end it with a bang this year but the fireworks display in Alma is on the 3rd which is a monday. So we won't have the fireworks but we will have the water park. The formats are to be announced but there will be 3 courses being played just like last year. Northshore, Ft. Smith, and Alma. I will get a flyer out soon. This will be a lot of fun so you don't want to miss it. Especially with the new layout hopefully being completed at Alma. I am working on the Sanction agreement from the PDGA and it will be posted on the website this week

Yeah this was posted before we talked. Ok here is the update for Northwest Doubles. This year since Alma greens and Tulsa worlds are all falling pretty quick we are going to make one Giant weekend of golf. Alma greens and the Northwest Doubles are going to combine. Saturday the 24th Singles Alma Green two rounds. Sunday the 25th Northwest Doubles Non-sanctioned. two rounds of Doubles one round of best shot. Then a big Finale of 6 best score, 6 worst shot(yes this is worst you must prove the putt both players must make the putt), then 6 Alternating shot. This will conclude this massive weekend of golf. Oh yeah I almost forgot Pitch has gotten it approved to camp out @ alma on Saturday night which means water park, camping, fun, and Night golf so you don't want to miss this weekend. Also the doubles will not be sanctioned so baggers can play up to compete.

Alright, I am trying to get some information on the WAFDA site's calendar.
I have never seen for sure where this one is gonna be. Since it is in conjunction with Alma Greens, (camping, etc...) is it going to be held in Alma too, or will it be at Northshore?
Have entry fees been decided on? Is there a flyer available to post? etc...etc.... Just wanted to go ahead and get it on the site for more to see.
We have some updated stuff so check it out.

This will be at Alma as well. Two rounds one round of best shot and one round of 6 alternating, 6 worst and 6 best score. The entry fees are still under discussion but it looks like pro teams are going to be $60.00 ($30 per man) advanced will be $50.00 am will be $40.00 and novice and jr will be $20.00. This is not a sanctioned event so if you want to play up a divison with your partner you can nobody says you have to play the divison that you usually play. If you have any other questions just shot me a p.m I have been pretty busy lately so I haven't been on here. I will have a flyer for this event soon. I still have to talk to pitch but when you register for Alma greens I may have someone taking entry for the Northwest doubles as well. That way you can pay all at once and it will make Sunday go a little smoother. talk to you later :D

What is the tournament schedule for Alma Greens? What time is the player's meeting/first round?

AlmaWillie
Jun 20 2006, 10:04 AM
Melissa,
I know that the first round is starting at 9:00 so I would assume the players meeting is 8:30. Tom said he was cutting off registration so we could get all the cards made up without a huge rush, but I don't remember if cutoff was 8:00 or 8:30. I'll find out tonight at the WAFDA meeting and let you know.

AlmaWillie
Jun 21 2006, 12:23 AM
Well our meeting tonight got canceled but I would say to be in Alma by 8:00 so you are there in time to register (if you haven't already preregistered, which you should for the awesome Popeye disc!!)
If you are prereged then the player's meeting will be at 8:30.

Melissa
Jun 21 2006, 12:25 AM
So you only get the Popeye disc if you preregister? Are there already 50 player preregistered?

Team Donkey domination. Kyle and Jason you only beat us by 3 strokes!!! You need to work on your games. Well one half of your team was throwing gateway. So was i. You forgot to say that team donkey shot hot round 2nd round with a 50. I bet there will be a couple donkeys at your course next time dominating doubles. If i could only putt.

Thanks for a fun time to all involved with the Northwest Doubles, it was a blast!! I have to say those Wizard putters that Gateway makes putt rather well (with a good putter behind them) They look and react just like an Aviar to me, only difference I see is the bead on the bottom of the rim similar to a KC Aviar
