As some of you may have seen or heard, I'm planning to do an event on Memorial Day this year. It will be at an awesome golf resort that is letting us put up a temp course to see how they like it.

This might be the first year of MANY where we could host this awesome event. More details are soon to come.

I'm on here looking for some feedback though. Would you like to see MORE people be able to play with some slightly shorter holes or would you like to see a lengthy course with only 72 competitors? We are working on a course layout and it how many holes we have will dictate the size of the field.

Did I mention that every 2 people in the group will have a golf cart? I likely will have to limit the groups to 4 people per hole for this event for that reason alone. Unfortunately 18 holes x 4 people is only 72. Would you guys like to see a rolling start so we can fit more people in? That means staying a little later on Monday but it would accomodate for more people.

Let me know what your thoughts are and we'll see what we can do. Daylight shouldn't be much of an issue on that Monday but I want to know if the tee times and late(r) finish would deter people from attending.

Thanks,

Ter

I say 18 holes with 4 per hole for 72 total competitors.

Why make it a long day for everyone especially the TD?

So now what is your rating at Brunner after recent events? Last you said 950 something? How do you figure that out? Is there a table for that?

18 hole 72 max. It would be cool to have a nice relaxing tournament and not get home too late before work the next day.

By my calculations I would say it should be at 945 or so on the next update, by taking rated rounds since last july I have averaged 950+ though. Ratings dont mean much though.

I'm currently in Alabama but that doesn't stop Lifetime Disc Sports from getting some work done. Tom Jenkins and a few other players are heading to the Fox Hills Resort (http://www.fox-hills.com) early tomorrow morning to come up with the course for the Memorial Day event.

This walk through will really determine the length of the course AND just how many holes we can fit out there. Again, we'll have to keep the groups to four somes because of the carts everyone will be getting. The carts only fit 2 each and they will be automatically included in the entry fee.

More to come after this weekend. I want to get the entry fees and registration online VERY soon along with all of the details to the event. I'll say this much - start getting groups of four together for the resort. They are planning to offer rooms at $80 for the night for up to four people. Otherwise you can put up to 10 per room in a condo setting for $15 a person.

More details to come shortly guys.

Did you get pinched out of the Wisconsin Tour Warm Up because you waited too long? Maybe you were one of the 20+ people that called and heard me say, "I'll gladly put you on the waiting list". Unfortunately, I won't be able to add another event for you on Tuesday if you don't get into this one so I suggest you get online and secure your spot!

Well, don't wait around any longer because the online registration could see a burst of 20, 40, or even more on any given day or week. I have received 5 registrants in just the past 12 hours. 10 per day means this could be filled in under a week. I KNOW you don't want to miss the opportunity to play disc golf on a ball golf resort and have the use of CARTS!

Check out my online store (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=100) for registration and all of the event details.

Registrations are now coming in very quickly. The field has nearly doubled in just the past few days. Please be sure to get your registrations in for this because I will not be doing Monday morning registrations. Hurry up and get your registration completed!

4 MORE registrants just in the last few hours. This is coming (and going) very quickly so be sure to get out there and get registered.

Who wants Barry for the doubles round on Sunday? I'm sure some people are hoping to get matched up with him. Maybe Schwieger will be a better partner if you need a lefty that tosses a mile? Hmm, sweet action both Sunday and Monday guys!

Heading up to Mishicot pretty soon. Looks like we can have carts for the doubles round but we'll have to pay for them (just like Monday).

The weather is looking good and this should be a really fun event. If we have a good showing this weekend I've already been told we can continue to host other events up there.

Sign up here (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=100) immediately if you'd like to secure your spot. You can come out to the course on Sunday and try to get in if there are any spots still available. I do not anticipate any spots still being available for a Monday morning walk-up registration. Plus, player's meeting is Sunday night and you'll want to be there to get all of the info for Monday's event.

Give me a call if you have any questions - 414.803.3307.

Terry,
Sounds like a fun event! Just a note, if you've got the entire golf course open for a shotgun start and have a long par 70ish layout, it's very possible to accomodate a lot more than 72 players by having 2 groups start on certain holes. I've played in golf scrambles with 130+ on the course. It does slow the pace of play down as you add more players and overall time constraints have to be met.

If you want to add just a few extra groups, it's good to start 2 groups on the holes that follow par 5's and long par 4's, utilizing the course's largest buffers.

Hope everyone has a blast! :D

What a LONG weekend.

I'm very tired and worn out but I just got home and decided to get the results up online so that everyone could check things out. I WILL be submitting all of the official results to the PDGA in the next few days so this SHOULD be included in the next ratings update (for those of you that care).

The weekend had beautiful weather with HOT sun and a little bit of breeze here and there. Unfortunately mother nature didn't cooperate with us earlier in the week and therefore we were NOT able to use golf carts as advertised. Obviously this was a tremendous let down for everyone (myself included) but it was still a fun layout and a great time.

I asked if the participants would like their cart fee back or thrown into their respective purses and the overwhelming response was to keep the money in the purses.

So check out the RESULTS (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5906&year=2006&incl udeRatings=1#Open) here and see you at the next Lifetime Disc Sports event!

Thanks to all of you that came to support this event. Please post feedback about the event on here (both good and bad). Just leave out any cart remarks since that's a dead horse.

Ter

Just like I've said 100 other times, thanks to all that helped out: Matt Brock, Julia Forcucci, Tom Jenkins, Scott Rohloff, Todd Kozlencer, Ryan Hornickel, Luke Reed, Ezra, Dallas, and to all of the basket contributers including Barry Schultz, Mark Peterson, Brian Baehman, Mike Batka, Pat Hamill, Kurt Raff, Steve Pisaro, Jim Plutz, Tom Jenkins, and Johnny Rumble. This event couldn't be done without the help of all of you!

It was a great time and a wonderful course.

I was happy to have helped support this event with the tournaments trophies. From what I heard everyone was very happy with them. Again don't hesitate to ask again in the future when you need my help again for trophy wi-dyes.

Please let all of us know if Fox Hills had any response about this event Terry.

I had a really great time Terry. There were some good holes out there. Part of me was hoping for a long 18 hole layout, something with a true par 68-72 type of course. Maybe something to consider in the future or for a future event?

I thought the flow was good, didnt have to wait on many holes at all, a few longer walks to the next tee but was probably necessary and probably helped with flow.

Event was run smoothly and was a fun time :) Thanks again for making this event possible, I would also like to hear if Fox Hills response to the event.

We are already talking about our next event up there. We have to make sure that's it's worth their time for the disc golfers to be present.

Thanks again to anyone that spent the night up there. That really helps the cause. Next time we'll offer some type of complete package to make things easier.

Also another fun event might be a ball golf/ disc golf event, like combined score of 1 - 9 hole round of ball golf and an 18 hole round of disc golf or something like that.

Ball golf Brunner! As soon as I can afford to take lessons maybe. Overall the event was very fun. The hotel was pretty nice.. especially with the pools, hot tub, and bar. I would definitley go back again. Well done Terry and all those that helped out. Look forward to another event at Fox Hills soon.
