Cedar 5:45 tonight, or does it start next week?

doubles always starts the first week in May in Raleigh. Tuesdays at Cedar and Thursdays at Kentwood

Apr 04 2006, 11:35 AM
And if you can't wait until May you can come to Greenville...Monday doubles starts on April 17 and Thursday doubles start on April 20

Apr 04 2006, 03:44 PM
Or bring it over to the Bull City..... Durham doubles at Cornwallis start tonight..... and at Valley Springs on Thursday.

Apr 04 2006, 11:09 PM
THATS IT!!!! Its on...I am going to try to make at least one doubles done by RADL, GVDG, BullCity, OFDA and any others in the area that I can find out about...we all need a goal in life or at least for the summer

Apr 05 2006, 12:40 AM
and don't forget that doubles are still being played at 2 pm on Saturdays at the Chapel Hill course. For those that haven't been out to the Chapel Hill course in a while, you'll be pleased to see the sweet new concrete teepads that have been put in on most holes. They all should be ready by the Tarheel tournament in a few weeks.

We will be doing two weeks of pre doubles, starting Tuesday April 18. Like usual, we play 2 different formats.

This First week will be bring your partner. Come on out and try and take out me and JJ :D

The second week will a one disc round. You may bring two discs (as long as they are the same disc meaning if you have a firebird, you have two firebirds. Ifyou bring a roc, you have two rocs). The second disc can only be used if you lose the disc you are playing with either b/c of a bad shot or splashing it on 7. This idea of a second disc was discussed at the RADL meeting so people wouldn't leave or quit on there partners b/c they lost thier disc.

The next week after we will start the 18 weeks of doubles, ran by Mike Norris.

The next week (second week in May) we hold the next RADL meeting at Cedar Hills after doubles.

Look forward to seeing everyone at Cedar next tuesday!

Wish I could be there for the 2 disc...I have 2 Coyotes that would love to have fun on that course...as far as taking you and JJ out, I don't double date and besides, JJ is way cuter than you...
PS Robert, in your signature, it's ho not hoe..unless you are saving garden equipment :)

I hear last years champions of "Bring your own partner" doubles will be back to defend their title.

Two discs in a 1 disc event?

Thats weird.... :D

Well it was my idea to not just have one disc, and Kirks idea to have a backup.

The chance of losing a disc at cedar is always higher b/c of the lake. I heard of a couple of people splashing then walking off on thier partner - we dont want that to happen this year.

scottfaison
Apr 13 2006, 11:28 PM
Is splashing water on your partner then walking off ok or should you stay and let them splash you back? And if you do this, can water baloons be used to correct foot faults and improper jump putts?

Apr 14 2006, 12:22 AM
can we play in GOLD? WTF

I am just messing with you. I think one person ended up w/out a disc last year after hole # 7.

All this splashing reminds me of the creek at Chapel Hill....

yeah, it was EOG that lost his disc on hole 7. For the next few holes, his partner let him throw the drive with a shark. I think Eddie left after hole 13.

Out of all the times I've played Cedar Hills, I've probably only splashed around 20 times. I think it was less than 5 times in 2005. Of course one of them had to be a one disc round. Doh! :p

Apr 17 2006, 01:17 PM
How about letting the player finsih with a Mini?

Just add the RADL google calendar to your Gmail account scotty.

go to calendar.google.com (http://calendar.google.com) and search public calendars for RADL. Then add the calendar.

Or they are every tuesday from May through August. Tee time is 6:00 PM.

Entry fee is $2 with an optional $2 ace pool. There is no carry over from last year.

Just to let people know that may be playing Cedar Hills. If you usually come in the back way to Cedar Hills via Mapleridge/North Ridge there is currently some construction on Mapleridge. This road is closed to through traffic. You will need to come to the course via Sweetbriar.

My partner, Ryan Freeborn, and I shot a -17 at Kentwood tonight out of 81 players. Hottest day and rnd yet this spring. Missed hole 14 even though it has a refurbished tee pad.

May 25 2006, 11:10 PM
nice shooting and thanks for the work on the pads - its nice to be able to actually get a run when we play 14 only to see one of the three trees placed directly in the flight of the disc or the giant overgrown limb knock down a great tee shot.

Two Challengers and an Element-X disappeared from the picnic tables and from next to the hole one tee-pad yesterday after the round. The Element X says "The Cheat" on the back (possibly with extra T's, I'm not sure). The Challengers belong to 30 Seconds (TJ) and the Element X is mine (it used to be Plankeye's). If anyone knows who picked them up, please let me know.

Cedar Hills doubles runs May through August, starting the first Tuesday in May. That should give us 18 weeks of doubles, and a CTP on a different hole each week.

Disclaimer - this may be inaccurate, and someone should correct any nonsense I just posted
