The Local 101 Disc Golf Players Union will be holding a tournament at Hudson Mills Metropark on Sunday April 9, 2006. This is not a A3 Disc event, but the guys running it are club members. They plan to run a series of tournaments in a variety of formats. Sounds fun!

For more information visit their website at www.local101dg.com (http://www.local101dg.com)

I will definately be at this tournament. And hope for a good turnout to support the group of guys running it.

Also.
I want to applaud Bill and A3 in advertising a tournament run by a different group on A3's home course. I think it shows that A3 is a more friendly organization and that the leadership problems that arose last year are over. I look forward to a good year.

Thank you Bill, KW! This tournament should bring a nice turnout. The Local 101 Disc Golf Player's Union's motto is "Of the player, by the player and for the player." The Union's profits will only go towards a larger variety of mechandise for AM payouts and promoting the sport in general. The Union's 1st tourny will offer only plastic as payout, and offer only AM divisions, but after that we will be offering Pro divisions and branching out into clothing, accessories, and some wild merchandise. The Union's payouts will be set at 101% or more, and the plastic prices will be very good for the player. <font color="green">
April 9th
Hudson Mills
Reg 8:30-9:30
All divisions play 2 rounds of 24 holes, played from the short tees, on both courses.

I think if you know Michigan disc golf this is quite a positive thing. This would not have been possible five years ago.

Bob-you have to play longs. Everyone else plays short 24 on both courses.
AND--
Nice work Mark Lawrence and John Dobberstein on top finishes at BG AMs. It was so close we could smell it, and it smelled soo good. Jeff Kuehle had a great finish and placed well! And Michigan's Dan Treece made it to the finals!! Sweet finish from a class act. Congrats to all MI'ers who made it down. The weather was great, except for a hlaf hour during the third round. Fun times had by all!!

Don't forget my son-in-law - taught him everything he knows - Nick Spitler - who placed 51st out of 284 Advanced Ams and carded a 1,019 round! (And Jamie Mosier, who also tied for 51st.)

Darned good showing in Advanced Ams, guys!

Then there is my Masters Hero (MI), Mike (Frame-O) Frame, who took first place in Advanced Masters!

And my Grandmasters Hero (MI), Ron Put, who took first in Advanced Grandmasters.

And my Senior Grandmasters Hero (MI) - and longest-lasting friend in Ann Arbor (Really can't count my first wife as a friend.) - Richard Tuttle, who took first place in Advanced Senior Grandmaster!

If you Advanced Ams had just hung in there and grabbed first place, we'd have had a men's divisions sweep of all Advanced divisions!

Woo-hoo!!! :)

Now, did I read it right - on Sunday it is shorts &amp; shorts? If so, I'm ready for some side bets from you Advanced Ams.

With the rating update coming, I may take this one last chance to shoot MA-2 if Pat Burke shows up. Unless his initial rating forces him into MA-1, this will be the last time I get to shoot against him in a tourney.

A3, FSDG, TADGA, Cass Benton Crew... Thanks to everyone for the support. See you all out on Sunday :)

Yes, every division will play Yellow, then Red. So if you're an AM2 thinking about moving up, this tournament would be the perfect time.

Bring on the side bets, Terry :D

I'm still torn between which tourney to play. It'd be nice to shoot a tournament on a course that I know well vs one I hardly know, but at the same time, you don't get better shooting the same 4 courses over and over again(soon to be 5)....

Everyone can play Flip and still play this one........All the have to do is drive home Saturday night then get up Sunday morning and head to the Mills!!! I think everyone should play BOTH!!!

Flip City is really a wonderful course. It has a lot of elevation changes and a lot of walking up to the next tee so you can throw down. It has a good mix of challenging par 3 holes and deuceable par 3 holes. I have a non-negotiable family obligation this weekend or Kelsey and I would be there. [I tried negotiating. I didn't get anywhere.]

It is not a big deal to drive back from Flip City Saturday night to play the Ann Arbor thing Sunday. If you are done at 7 you can be home by 10.

Sorry, didn't mean to try to take players away from a sanctioned event, I like Flip better than either course at HM (But HM has 2). I encourage all players with indecision to play Flip first and then come to our event if you still have energy. It's all shorty pads so you don't need much!

well, I know I'm playin flip, it's like 10 minutes from my house. The only question is, am I going to find my way to HM then back up here.

Right, I heard about that. I'm sure you will be playing on nicer courses than us. And you will receive satisfaction (http://www.local101dg.com/images/loco2006/loco33.jpg) out of helping other players.
