We're not sure when, but probably as soon as the ground thaws in a few weeks, the county drain commissioner is going to close down all of Brown Park.
Instead of that large pond over at one edge of the park, they're planning to have the creek meander all over what is now a flat and fairly wet grassy area near holes 15-17. The major motivation for this is to create better water quality down stream.
We should end up with new locations for at least some of holes 15-18, including, we hope, some water hazards on the changed holes!
However, the park (which exists primarily to be a "flood bowl" for the creek) will be closed for an uncertain amount of time that I expect will be all of the forthcoming season. (This is one of the reasons that the parks & rec folks want to move fast on Bandemer, which might be where the baskets at Brown will go.)
And, yes, the parks & rec folks are enthusiatic about making sure the Brown Park course opens up when all that is done. I actually think that the changes might open up space for a few more holes; we'll see.
