June 2-4, 2006
to benefit Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center

Friday evening - O.T. Sloan Park, Sanford
Saturday - Kentwood Park, Raleigh
Sunday - Cornwallis Park, Durham

Come out and support this worthy cause. We are recruiting corporate sponsors; if you have a lead on a potential sponsoring business, please let us know. We also need lots of prizes (discs, etc.) to give away during the tournament. We would also like to raffle off a basket, provided someone will donate one.

My message board priviliges are about to run out, as I am not a 2006 PDGA member. For that reason, updates about the tournament will be placed on my web page (http://www4.ncsu.edu/~rdpasteu/discgolf/charity.html) I can be reached at 919-418-1780 or fantastic50@juno.com

This weekend, you can help raise money for a great cause, while having a lot of fun, at the 2006 Innova Triangle Disc Golf Charity Weekend. There will be eight mini-tournaments, over three days, in three cities, all in support of Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.

You don't have to commit to the whole weekend to participate. There will be prizes for each of the eight events, as well as trophies and prizes for overall divisional winners on Saturday and Sunday. Our corporate sponsors (Innova, Omega Sports, and ZoneDriven are the biggest) have donated over $1,300 in prizes, so there's plenty of stuff to win. There is a cool Merrell messenger bag for the weekend's longest ace. We will have raffles for two baskets, one of which will go to a child or their parent.

Entry fees are only $5 for each event, except $10 Friday night. For a $50 donation to our charity, you can play for free all weekend, plus you get a player's package.

This event emphasizes disc golf as a family sport; some of our mini-tournaments are specifically designed to get women and children involved. One related note: alcohol is prohibited in all three parks, and this will be strictly enforced throughout the weekend.

Here's the schedule:

Friday, June 2, O.T. Sloan Park, Sanford
6:00 - Big Money Random Doubles ($10 entry fee, half the money goes to charity and half to the winning team. Prizes to other top teams.)

Saturday, June 3, Kentwood Park, Raleigh
10:00 - RIPT (the disc golf card game where anything can happen!)
1:30 - Doubles with Kids (Bring a child, 15 or under, as your partner)
4:00 - Mixed Doubles (Teams of one man & one woman, alternating shots)
6:30 - Park & Putt (Only 2 shots per hole, earn points for deuces, CTPs, and long putts.)

Sunday, June 4, Cornwallis Park, Durham
10:00 - Match Play Tournament (Short, 6- or 9-hole matches, 1-on-1.)
1:30 - Doubles with Kids (Same as on Saturday)
4:00 - Singles (One round of divisional singles)
6:00 - Basket raffle drawings
