Guys, per your request at the last meeting, I talked to a law student who used to work with a law firm on intellectual property law. While she said the law school does do some pro-bono work, there are strict limitations and politics involved with the process. However, she has a background in forming non-profit corporations. I told her our situation and she said using a lawyer would be frivalous and expensive and it something we can do on our own as she has done it before. I will post the e-mail she sent me.
Hey Colin,
Your organization is probably at Domestic Non-Profit Corporation. Here is the link for forming a Non-Profit Corporation.
http://www.sosweb.state.ar.us/corp_ucc/corp_forms/forms/NPD-1.pdf
You can also submit it online at
https://www.ark.org/sos/ofs/docs/index.php
If I am not mistaken it costs 45 or 50 dollars. To do it online you'll have to scroll down to "Domestic Non-Profit Corporation" and choose "Articles of Incorporation for Dom. Non-Prof Corp. NPD-01."
