06 Chills is rapidly approaching. Everyone's playing 2 rounds of 18 from the short pads. Anyone donating rare discs for the auction? Anyone know which course(s) will be used?

Anyone know which course(s) will be used?

I'd guess the answer to this depends on the crowd and pad conditions. Hopefully another melt or two happens and the courses are clear again soon.

With today's snow, its back to the same old same old, but the last few rounds were nice while they lasted. It looks like the rollers might have to come out of the bag, again.

inre: the disc auction

I would really like to see an appearance by the KC Pro 8x Roc that was available at the October Toboggan Mini Tournament "Angus Memorial". Was that from the LizardLawyer Collection?

Last year there was a good collection of Innova and Discraft, looking forward to this one. It would also be cool to see some of the more recent fundraiser discs like CFR Wraiths, CFR Starfires, SB Orcs, Z-Trackers and CE Rocs.

Oo if an 8x is up for auction, I might have to bring my friend ben. Will Mr. Ellis be feeling generous?

I will be running the auction again this year. Last year we raised over $900 from the auction alone. The prices were outstanding last year with collectibles going for RETAIL! Prices. I think Daemon got a 9x aviar for around $20-25! That disc is selling on ebay for close to $40. Al Shack brought some stuff nobody had ever seen before.

Believe me there are people in the Ann Arbor area with Collections that would blow your minds and they all donate discs to the auction. O.K I will drop some names Gunars (Gunars has been collecting sweet plastic or 20 years) Pad Timmons (Pad works for discraft and in past days owned In-Flight) Keith From Discraft, Jim Kenner, Mark Ellis, Peter Wyngaard (Peter is sponsored by Discraft) Myself I have a decent collection :grin Sunny Beach A3 president and prolific hot stamp artist.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg many many people donate to the auction my advise to everyone is to attend the tournament and the auction. If you can't commit to the tournament please come afterwards for the auction you won’t be disappointed.

sorry to get you guys off topic, but i have a disc that belongs to one of the guys up your way, Ben Calhoun (sp?). pretty nice.. a 9x firebird, worth getting back. i was wondering how it got down to nc, found in greenville, at THE e.c.u. course. if you guys can get up with him, let him know, and we'll try to figure something out. if not, thanks anyway.

The auction is going to be SWEET!! People are coming out of the woodwork with amazing stuff. I talked with Pad at discraft and he is bringing new stuff that nobody has seen yet!

I want to thank everyone at Discraft for their generosity.

Like I said earlier if you can't make the tournament come to the Mills by 3pm for the auction you will not be disappointed.

Good work Scotty, I gotta see your trophy. Did Ainsly hang on for 2nd? Again, does anyone know the score for last cash Open?

scottcwhite
Jan 30 2006, 11:06 AM
Ainsley tied for 3rd. Jason K got 2nd in AM2 with a 103 for the day. I won shooting a 101 for the day ;) I think the winning score in AM1 was 105. Pro winner was a 98 (Red-Blue) I think?

It was a great tournament and the auction was sweet as promised. The auction raised $850 so with the donations and entry fees The tolal was close to $1400 for food gatherers!!.

Winning Open total was 99 shot by yours truly :D :D

Steve it was great playing with you as usual. I think you need to kick in the extra dollar next time ;) your group should have paid at least.

After the tournament was over Steve, Peter and I took $100 in gift certificates to the Dexter Pub and treated everyone who came to Beer and some food.

I want to thank everyone who came and donated their money and food to Food Gatherers especially the people at Discraft who brought some fantastic plastic for the auction.

Mark it on your callendar for next year it will only be better!
