Here's an update from Chris-
He'll be in Alma on Monday, February 6, and Fayetteville Tuesday February 7!
"The day has finally come. The Innova Tour de Disc Golf is under way. I am hitting the road in a few minutes on a 45 day journey across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. In that time I will run over 40 events at around 35 courses. Who even knows how many miles will be traveled? How many times will I eat at Outback, how many vegemite sandwiches will be eaten? From the big cities to the… well let’s just say smaller towns, the Thunder is coming.
The Disc Golf Thunder is fully loaded with all the latest discs and merchandise including 5 different INNcolor designs on the new Star Wraiths. I also have INNcolor mini discs and both long and short sleeve t-shirts with the tour logo. Add to this all the Play Disc Golf - Fight Cancer and Texas 7 merchandise and there is something for everyone.
Don’t forget the 24 Innova Traveler Targets will be given away during the tour.
Keep an eye on all the news, updates and photo’s from the tour at my new website and news blog. Click on this link and follow the tour. Also check out the schedule and find the location closest to you.
http://www.discgolfpromotions.com/b2evo/blogs/index.php?blog=2&cat=1
Or you can simply go to www.discgolfpromotions.com (http://www.discgolfpromotions.com) and follow the links.
The tour will finish up in Waco for the first event on the 2006 Texas 7 Charity Tour on March 4th. Signup for Waco early as you all know the turnouts in Waco are huge.
To conclude here is a favorite quote of mine…”It’s not the destination that matters, it’s the journey.”
Let the road trip begin.
Chris Himing - Event Director"

Looking forward to getting to Arkansas guys. I have heard good things.
Is there anyone there that is willing to show me the Horseshoe Canyon course on Tuesday? I have heard great things about it and would love to play it. I would need to drop my trailer off or ride with someone. How cold is it there? I am a warm blooded Aussie remember.
Arkansas is coming soon...

Tuesday is the day I can make Jasper. I have to leave to Shreveport on Wednesday morning. It would be an early start Tuesday to return in time for the Fayettville event that night but I am up for the challenge.
Off to Stillwater, OK now.

I am getting all the boys in my disc golf club pumped up. I am going to get as many as possible out there as soon as possible. I'm checking into getting a few out of school early to be there. All of us should make it there by 3:45, worst case is 4:00. We usually start our practices by 4:00 and can finish a round by 5:15 to 5:30.
I'm telling everyone I see.
I'll be out there for sure willie so count me in, but i dont know about today.....so well see........

The Thunder will be rolling at Northshore!!!
Chris has permission to conduct retail sales out of his trailer on Tuesday the 7th at Northshore.
I just cleared the last obstacle remaining to insure that the Tour de Disc Golf @ Northshore will be a success, and remain in compliance with all Parks and Recreation Policy and Procedure.
I RENTED THE WHOLE PARK FROM 2-6PM!!! :o:)
IT'S MINE :D
But, you guys can all still come and play :D:D:D

Getting permission for Chris to conduct retail sales in a City Park.
The permit I got a few weeks ago said "no peddling".
I had to "Rent" the entire park in order to get permission for Chris to "peddle" his wares. I am doing this at my expense- Not at the expense of the former, or the current, club.

I got Alma as fixed up as I could in one day. TreeShark and I picked up trash, reset the tee sign, fixed a basket and reset the park bench. Hopefully Chris will leave with a good impression of Alma. He is talking about trying to setup a night round if anyone is interested come on out. I'm not going to push my kids for it because of the dangers along the bluff. That could be really treacherous at night. Anyway, just thought I would let everyone know that is an option if you can onjly get out there late you can still do the night round. Come on out if you get the chance.

Chris Himing was very pleased with the turnout, the support, and the enthusiasm he found in Alma, Arkansas.
He's on his way to Paradise this morning (Horseshoe Canyon), but will be at Northshore in time to start a mini by 4PM.
The Thunder keeps on rolling... :)

From everyone at Alma I would like to thank Chris for the greatime last night. It was wonderful having the chance to get out and play a round with him, the other adults and of course the kids. I think we had 10 or 11 kids out and 7 or 8 adults. We played from 4:00 until almost 8:00pm. The kids loved the night play, but for all you worriers, we did stay on the bottom 7 holes. Anyway, my fingers always run long on here, so long story cut almost short........
We had a great time and really appreciate all Chris did for the kids.

I brought this forward from another post Chris put up.
I think he likes the Canyon!
G'day from Horseshoe Canyon in Arkansas. I am writing this from the most amazing disc golf location I could imagine. The lodge is awesome.
We just completed 18 incredible holes of picture perfect disc golf. The weather was perfect!
Pictures are unlikely to do it justice but I will have them online soon.
For those that know the course I threw my drive on top of the huge rock on Hole 12. What a view.
Thanks Heath and Kelly for an incredible disc golf experience. I will be back. For those of you that haven't been here do yourself a favor and come to this mecca.
Yours in Flight,
Chris

That was awesome! Seeing the Alma kids out there, after a round of golf, running to go play a round of night golf, with Chris leading them on...it was exciting! Bob and I left well after dark, leading Rolling Thunder up to fayetteville.....well, we kinda forgot to tell him about the "up" part..hehehe :D To follow that up with a day at Horseshoe Canyon....I'll let him tell the story (with pictures!!!) Can i get a "wow" ? :DThank you Jeff Ash for facilitating this event, and thanks Heath for driving. Everybody had fun at Northshore and got to take home some one of a kind disc golf memorabilia. And he raised a little money to fight cancer. Let's do that again!!!
Thank you Chris Himing.

Chris left this morning to drive to Shreveport.
We made a short stop in Greenland to see a very unusual course.
Chris left me in Greenland, and began heading towards Louisiana.
He was saying something about having to decide between going through London, or Paris, on the way to Shreveport.

Hey Keldog!
Chris wanted me to thank you for donating your winnings from yesterday's mini.
I took the liberty of speaking for you.
I really need to stop doing that. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Anyway, you and I provided Chris with $37.50 for his trip to London, or Paris, or wherever he was going... :D
