MTL21676
Dec 07 2005, 06:56 PM
This year's Ice Bowl will be held on Sunday Jan. 23rd at Cedar Hills. I will be running it. Any questions can be posted here or can be directly sent to me via PM, phone (919-389-5780) or email (robertleonard01@yahoo.com)

As soon as Kevin finishes the flyer for me, I will have everything posted.

Put this date on your calender and get ready for a long standing national and RADL tradition.

Will be benifiting the NC Food Bank again this year.

scottfaison
Dec 08 2005, 06:22 PM
Roberto is spanish for Robert..there is no real translation for Scott..once again MTL is slaughtering 2 languages again...if you want a Spanish name for me use my first name and you get Mateo..(Ma-Tay-O)

Anyways thanks we can schedule ours now and get it announced..lets get GVDG and RADL to support the others since they will be on different weekends...

scottfaison
Dec 08 2005, 08:04 PM
I will be at this event...maybe I will donate a Kristmas gift (see other thread to see what I mean)...hopefully more GVDG will come also..and then you folks can return the favor..all in the name of charity..

If you, if you could return, don't let it burn, don't let it fade.

Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

Stay a few holes back.

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC

or I think you can make it out to: FBCENC

A couple of extra things...

1. The player will get to choose which one of his shots he plays if he uses mulligans. If a player throws 10 shots and decides to play his first, that is fine. If he chooses to use his 7th, whatever!

2. IF you ace, regardless of how many mulligans you use, you will get the ace pool. Since the ace pool is 0, Carlton was nice enough to get it started at 20 bux.

3. If you would like to donate anything (disc golf or not disc golf related) for prizes, please lemme know. Already got some cool stuff from some people and looking for some more stuff!

4. Everyone will play the long tees first round, with the exception on hole 7. Women and Jrs. will play from the drop zone and int. will play from the short tee. The second round (When everyone is playing shorts), women and jrs. will still play from the drop zone.

5. We will be playing the original layout with no long tee on hole 10.

THIS ICE BOWL SOUNDS GREAT--FIRST TIMER HERE--CAN THE MULLIES BE USED ANYWHERE OR JUST OFF THE TEE?--MTL, I HAVE A US AM CHAMP DISC I WOULD LIKE TO DONATE--

MTL21676
Dec 20 2005, 10:07 PM
Dale,

A mulligan can be used anywhere at anytime! Many people use them off the tee - I like to use them for approaches and putts.

Please bring the disc and thanks for your donation!

Ahh mulligans...I think i was -9 after 11 last year without using any mulligans. Then I started using them, finished -5. Something went horribly, horribly wrong in there.

I was going to come but I am not now because of 2 things: theres another Ice Bowl I am going to (a first year event I want to support near home, I still wish RADL and MTL the best of luck) and because obviously you don't want me there since you still have not said anything about getting complimentary hookers...I don't ask for much so you think you could have at least tried to get one...

Also, Frank Murray will be donating a dollar for every player entered. So if you are tetering about coming, this is a great incentive to come.

Great Outdoor Provision Company will be a part of this years Ice Bowl!

Patrick Murphy, Asst. Manager of the store on Falls of the Neuse will be out at Cedar Hills sunday playing some golf and bringing some stuff from thier store. He also is very interested in getting thier store to be a major player in RADL PDGA events.

The next time you need a pair of merrells, a back up Teebird or anything else you could think of disc golf related, go check out their store and tell them you appreciate what they are doing for our growing sport!

MTL21676
Jan 20 2006, 08:39 PM
If you are teetering on whether or not to come, please come.

I promise, you will be amazed at the amount of stuff I have - right now I'm thinking that everyone will get something for donating money.

Jan 20 2006, 09:24 PM
Just wanted to let you guys know what I am bringing out to the Icebowl for a few prizes from Great Outdoor Provision Co. This list may get larger...!! (maybe I can work in an Innova Travel Goal)
- Superlight Travel Umbrella $35
- Collapsible Travel Chair $35
- Petzl Headlamp $35
- Super absorbent "Pack-towel" $25
- (3) $25 Gift Certificates

I'll see what else I can throw together....you guys just make sure to make a showing to benefit the NC Food Bank. I imagine the only way you could have a bad round is if you're broke and can't afford a few $1 mulligans.

Chris Lee wins the cold snap trophy over EOG in a 3 hole playoff

Chili contest was won by Chuckster

Results

Also worth mentioning is that Mittenz shot a perfect round the first round (38) and it only cost him 17 bux!

MTL and Scott Anderson shot 39 the first round, both missing 5 13 and 18

Must Mulligans used on one hole - Kirk Yoo - 15. Putts his drive 30 feet away and takes him 16 putts to make it (the 9th cut through)
