The VPO is coming up on November 5-6. I am going to be incorporating an optional satellite event into the Sunday and Wednesday minis at Veteran's up until VPO. For anyone who is interested in playing the VPO, this is a great way to get in for very cheap. The way this works is you come to the mini and pay your normal fee with the TD. If you want to be included in the satellite, you pay the extra $12 entry fee to me. For every 10 players that enter the satellite, 1 person will get a free entry into the VPO (pro divisions only). Each satellite will have 100% payout.

For example:
There are 14 people sign up. Obviously, 1st place gets his free entry. 2nd place will get a $53 credit ($168 purse - $115 entry for 1st place) towards the VPO.

NO MONEY WILL BE HANDED OUT!

If you win a free entry, you can fill out a VPO entry form on the spot and I will give the money and the entry form to Terry.

If you are the person who takes "last cash" in one of the events, you will have 3 choices.
1. Pay the remainder of the VPO entry fee for your spot.
2. Play another satellite event to try to win the rest of the entry fee.
3. Donate your winnings to the VPO purse.

I will be running the satellite events during each Wednesday and Sunday mini until the VPO. There are 2 Sunday minis until the VPO and 2 Wednesday minis until daylight savings time ends.

This gives you 4 chances to win your spot into the VPO. Don't miss out. You may enter as many or as few of these events as you wish.

Tonight's satellite may not have a great turnout because it is just now being introduced. Anyone who can play tonight, please bring an extra $12 to the mini.

Hopefully the word can get spread around and we can have a large field for the satellite on Sunday morning.

Also, John Maiuro has agreed to offer this at the Bear Creek mini tonight and next Wednesday.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to play VPO for $12!

How did it go? Was there just an announcement this Wed? Is the 1st satellite on Sunday? Inquiring minds NEED to know.

Basically by the time Danny showed up (5:58) it was basically just an announcement. Should be able to do one on Sunday for sure!! Any takers?!?!?!?!? I would, but I have some previous obligations that weekend.

I'll do it if Danny actually shows up. Haven't seen him at a Sunday mini in a loooong time. I kind of doubt there will be enough people to get in on it, but hopefully there will be 10-12 of us.
If I do actually win the entry he would just give me the equivalent of the entry in cash, right? ( Already signed up and paid in full). I don't want to put in my money, win, and then have Danny tell me I can't take the cash.

Yeah I got to the mini later than I wanted last night but there wouldn't have been a satellite anyway. There was not enough people there that would be interested. I think Sundays are our best bet.

I am living over an hour away from the course so I usually don't want to come all the way to Arlington for the minis but I will definetly be there to run the satellite.

I will be there about 9:30 on Sunday. The traffic won't be nearly as bad on a sunday moring as it is on Wednesday afternoon I guess I should have left the house at 4pm instead of 4:30.

And yes if you are already signed up and paid for the VPO, you can get the cash. I see no problem with that.

I called a couple guys from Dallas. I figure if we advertise the satellites to the players who will most likely play VPO, it will make for a better turnout at the minis too.

Well, Who got in for $12? Was it windy?

I know at the ball golf course west of weatherford, when hitting into that wind, where i usually would hit a 7 iron (150y), my 3 iron was coming up short!!!!

I bet there was some funny disc shots!

We had 16 Open players in the mini and only 5 were interested in the satellite. Mike G and Donald tied at +1 for the best out of the 5 and decided to split the $60. So, they will get a $30 discount into VPO.

Hopefully, word can spread and more people will take a shot next Wednesday. I would really like to give out a free spot.

I can't believe Justin didn't get in. You only missed by 1 stroke Danny. +1,+2 was darn good shooting in that wind. We won't talk about my score yesterday. Question is, did I win the ctp?

dannyreeves
Oct 24 2005, 03:15 PM
I shot +3. That is good considering the wind, but not that great considering how good my drives were. I was inside 30' on 16, 17, and 18, for the 2 and inside 30' on 1 for a 3. I am probably the worst wind putter ever. I can't figure it out.

I think Covalt inched you out on the CTP. Didn't matter anyway. Were you gonna go to the fair? :D

I was going to give the tickets to Justin but forgot I put one close on 6 and left just after the round.
You were a putting superstar compared to me yesterday.

Are yall doing anything tonight?

Maybe. I think it's more of a Sunday deal. I could be wrong.

Besides, you have $750 burning a hole in your pocket! Nice Shoot'n pardna!

There will not be a satellite tonight. I don't think there would be a turnout for it anyway.

Besides that, I have 2 tests tomorrow. No golf for me. :(

Shouldn't we get this going? Maybe run 1 a month.....?

I received a bunch of 1st run Surge's today. I'll bring them out Sunday. The club can have them at cost if interested.

I would love to do this and I don't mind running it. The only problem is I don't know how well the turnout would be.
