This guy showed up at doubles this sunday, kicked my asss. He says he won 5th place in Worlds in 1987 and 1988 (both masters division), and quit playing. Now he's playing again. Has interesting stories.

PDGA # 3119 Anybody know about this guy?

Morgan, Kevin Rounds is from San Diego, I played allot of disc golf with him when I first started playing DG in 1982. He helped me a bunch with putting and course management since I was a weiney arm back then. Kevin came down to NT at Warwick and walked around with me during the 3rd round giving me encouragement and advise. He's a great friend and I consider him a mentor

Thanks Schweb!! I guess I'm living proof that you do not have to throw 400 ft to be a pro :D

Good luck this weekend at the NesTT and I'm pulling for Stevie and you at USDGC, continue the new "wave"

Hey Matt, Kevin mentioned you a few times. He says you remember his dog and asked about it. He says his dog did amazing things like find lost discs and stuff.

Kevin can putt, he never misses a putt.

Now I can't use my old age as an excuse for losing cause I'm only 50 and he's 53.

Get him to come to Syracuse for the tournament there this weekend.

And there will probably be some really old guys for you to play with Morgan.

Yeah, really old guys. I can beat really old guys.

Yeah, really old guys. I can beat really old guys.

Theoretically, you might have the potential.

Oct 07 2005, 01:37 AM

It's good to hear that Kevin is playing again. I played many rounds with him and his golden retriever back in the '80's before he moved away from San Diego.

Yeah, the guy's got game!

Give him my best.

Hey Luke,

I did what you suggested...Yeah Syracuse. Yeah Oxbow. Yeah CNY Tournament, were you there? I took second place in advanced GM, out of 5 people. Woo hoo, yeah age protection. That means I beat 3 really old guys. Oxbow is a good course. Kevin Rounds won GM.

I was there. I took last cash in Pro.

I thought you were a Pro Morgan?

Oct 09 2005, 05:39 PM
At the GM level it makes no difference anyway. The winner of advanced GM (Greg Kurtz, 118) beat the best pro GM (Kevin, 119). I got a 122.

What did you get, Mister big cashing pro??

Well if Kevin only beat you by 3 he can't be that good anymore. And I only beat you by 13, which is not good at all. I will attribute that to my 18 missed putts over the 2 rounds.

Nice to hear Kevin Rounds is playing again !!!!!!!

If anyone has the chance to see him , tell him Donny Olow says HI !!!!!! He may still know me !!!!! :D

Oct 09 2005, 09:32 PM
Yeah it's not me that's good it's my course. The top 2 winners of advanced GM (Kurtz, me) and the winner of advanced (Tim Jiardini) and the winner of pro GM (Kevin) are all Hyzer Creek regulars. We kicked butt.

What's wrong with you Syracuse people. How come all 4 of the only guys from the Albany area won stuff???? It was like taking candy from babies.

He he he. Only kidding. Keep tossing.

Kevin Rounds is a really cool guy, I played alot with him and Chris Dodds when I first started disc golf back in 1989. Tell him Bobby Benner said hi. Good to hear he is doing well and playing again.
