Hey everyone.

I am writing to let you know that I am already receiving registrations for my scholastic disc golf weekend.

Basically I'm running a college student only event on Saturday, October 8th and an any other student event on Sunday, October 9th. If we do NOT fill up on Sunday with elementary, junior high, and high school students, I'll have something to let leftover Saturday students compete again.

Please feel free to look at my two flyers and pass them around.

Thanks,

It was my understanding that there are usually only 9 holes there, but 18 for tournaments...If that is the case, then when will the 18 be available to play (if before the tournament)?

I could see doing doubles on Friday night if people are interested. It would be open to anyone that wants to come and check it out. I could have the 18 hole layout up by mid morning for sure.

Are you planning on playing Dan? Do you know of anyone else that is looking to play? Pre-registration makes things easier for me and for everyone else if you can do it.

Ba ba ba B-Rock,

You can play but will have to be against the uniquely designed "college graduate" division. Maybe there will be more details on that in the future.

If I don't have a TON of pre-registration, I might open both days up to other divisions as well. That is to be determined so check here or e-mail me and I'll see what we can work out.

I went to UWM and graduated. I earned seperate degrees in disc golf, NHL 98, & bloody mary drinking in Shakespeare class. Can I play?

Hello everyone!

This year the event is NOT just for students. We are opening it up to include novice, juniors, intermediate amateurs, advanced amateurs, and women. I have just one women's division listed but we could split that later if we get enough interest.

The setting will again be the Milwaukee County Sports Complex. I met with them today and they are planning to get their mowers out there next week to start carving out the additional 9 holes. Our plan is to have 9 more PERMANENT holes out there by the time of the event. That will make this a full-time 18 hole course!

This is a low-key, low-cost event that has a slight school twist to it. Basically, the school that shows up with the most number of students will win a portable basket to take back with them.

As always we will have registration available on http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=112. This is yet another chance to earn some points for next years worlds. This is a PDGA C-Tier event.

Let me know if you have any questions! If you're wondering why we don't have pros at this event it's because they like to whine too much so I'll make it easy and just not offer a division for them.

PS. Which lucky student that gets to take the basket and store it is something I'll have no part of! You guys will fight it out amongst yourselves!!!

There are lots of people that have said they are coming so I would suggest you get your pre-registration in asap. I know the list only shows a handful right now but the GMO went from 15 participants to over 150 in less than a week!

I completely goofed by not putting the darn check-in and registration times on the flyer or website. Sorry about that.

We are planning to have reg and check in from 8-9 with a 9:30 player's meeting.

The weather is going to be bright, warm, and sunny. Take advantage of that while you can because who knows how many more events will be like that this year.

I have a bunch of UWM people saying they are going to come along with a group from UW Whitewater.

I hope to see you all out there tomorrow morning! Registration will be open through tonight or you can try and show up tomorrow!

Thanks to all of you that came out to participate in the event!

We had 38 this year which was a few less than I was hoping for but I hope that everyone had a good time.

I just got the results (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5635&year=2006&incl udeRatings=1#Advanced) posted online and I think there were enough people there for everyone to get ratings. I'm not a ratings guru so I'm not sure but it appears that way!

Congrats to Bethelehem Lutheran for taking home the basket because they had the most participation. UW Whitewater also brought a nice group of guys (including the Advanced winner Pat Konkel) and they were 2nd in participation.

With payout of nearly 188% of entry fees I hope the word spreads that this is a great event to attend. If any footage gets put on DiscGolfTV.com I'll be sure to update everyone so they can check it out!
