I received two emails this week asking about the ADGA's website. One email was from a casual golfer from up North, saying that he will be in North Texas next month for work. He was looking for mini information. I gave him the downlow....including how HOT it gets in Aug in TX. :)
The second email was from a former ADGA member who now resides in PA. He said that it was pathetic for the ADGA to not have a website in this "day in time."
Does anyone have the knowledge on running one, or want to teach me how to run one? I think it's an important tool to have so we can showcase our piece of paradise known as THE VET.

dang! we sure used to have one...
i would LOVE to get it going again and can host it no problem. i've got the skills to keep it going and make it fun, also. of course, any other folks out there who would wanna help would be welcome to pitch in.
but... we DEFINITELY need a site we can call our own!

Cool......
Then i nominate Pat AND myself for website duties. I have plenty of action photos from the Vet....past VPO pics, past award ceremonies...etc.
We can update the ace totals, who owns the hole, work days, current members etc....weekly.

Ditto...same here...
You don't have to know much about a website to help. You can provide information to put on the website. For you Juli you could give them information on North Texas Ladies!!!!
I will donate my domain (discgolphersannonymous.com) for any reason you would deem useful. I was just constructing a forum for an uncensored (but hopefully still adult) place to shoot the breeze. My learning curve has steepened as the available time has sharply declined and from what I've seen elsewhere, a totally uncensored site would be mostly detrimental to our sport. I am also willing to help all I can. :p
My intention was to add some content for the other surrounding courses and causes also, Crowley, Zboaz and Cedar Hill for instance. Politics aside, if it benefits the game, the golphers, the courses and possibly someone in need, it couldn't hurt.

Right on Barb!!!! That's what we are talking about. We can even have a link, or a schedule of the Paske Mixed Pairs!!!!!
I hope we can still use ADGA.com Does anyone know? Pat? :)

i am looking into that
I was working on this in the week leading up to the Fling and am hoping to have something together in the next week or so. ADGA.com is still ours and will be switched to the correct area soon. This was something that a CURRENT ADGA member was doing for the club, but he hurt his finger and could not play golf, so he wanted nothing to do with the sport since he could not play. Including doing the web site. BUT he did not tell anyone OR return any emails. I know this has been a while ago, but I thought it was pretty lame!
Anyway, I would love to hand this off to anyone that wants to help and the ADGA will be better off for it.
The offer of my domain is still good. Ask and ye shall receive.
I will also help all I can.

Thanks Kent. Any specific reason that you spelled golfers like golphers in discgolphersannonymous.com? Was Lamoreaux involved?......cuz if you drop the "L" you have gophers! :)

Muahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahaha!
I have a host of names of very reputable mental and emotional professionals who wish to spend multiple hours with all of you. I have sent them the thread here and they seem to think this is a career enhancing move associating with us.
Keep up the good work, hehe. :D

Sorry about the post, I have my answer . Have a good discing game
Whats going on with the ADGA?
Seems like its going down hill from everything I'm reading. Lets get this thing banging like it was when I played a long while back.
Am I going to have to start the Mansfield Disc Golf Association and take over the Vet? Or maybe try to get a course put in Mansfield. :D

Sounds like we should see you on Wed nights at 6pm, Sunday mornings at 10am, and next weekend for the AM VPO. ;)
How do I become a member of your wonderful club again?

Does the ADGA have a web site yet? Our club in Pittsburgh recently had an article published in US Airways Magazine promoting the upcoming Supertour event: The 2006 Ameriprise Financial Pittsburgh Flying Disc Open (see Disc Golf in the News thread). What's really cool is that US Airways found our web site by searching the internet. They were looking for "things to do in Pittsburgh" this summer...and they contacted us, wanting to run an article on our upcoming disc golf tournament. Our disc golf tournament is included with other major events like the MLB All-Star Game at PNC Park and the Three Rivers Arts Festival.
Just last month, a local Boy Scout troop contacted us (through our web site) and asked about the sport, local courses, disc golf demonstrations, etc.
None of this would have happened if we didn't have a web site...(hint, hint). ;)

Why did adga.com go away? Did the letters just run off of the keyboard?

looks to me like whoever owned it did not renew it, and a domain name poacher got it. it is now for sale.
It was my fault we lost adga.com. I just found out that the renewal was sent to an old email address that Mike B does not use anymore and he was the contact on that. I have emailed the company who owns the name now and they want $10,000 for the name. He said they would consider offers above $5k, but I told him where to put that!! :-) Anyway, Pat, email or PM Willy as he has been getting some things together for the site. I have most of the old stuff on my PC at home.
