hey guys an idea that has probably been thought about but should keep coming up..... how about collaborating texas tourny's... we need bigger tourny's andmore exposure
!!! if mace...john edwards and chris h. all got together for the good of the sport and could all communicate and hold tournaments with inter-point systems that would add up to a larger inner state qualifier then maybe a state final with big incentives, would, could that work?? the sport would progress..and why not texas set the precedent for other states to follow...each inner city tournament would throw a few dollars to the qualifier and then on to the state final which if done right could throw alot of money....and pros would have a purse to pursue!!!! also such a big scale tourny could add exposure to a freestlye comp, longdistance comp, putting comp, night glow comp, maybe even have an ultimate frisbee tourny at the park the same weekend?? mace, chris and john are all capable of making this happen, ....throw a upcoming band in on saturday night for a rock concert......have a food drive added in for exposure and to help sponsors jump on board.... what about an oldtime car show hosted at the park the same weekend as the final...or all boyscout troops who show up receive a free frisbee and a 30min clinic from the pros on hand.......wow this would be cool huh? is any body dreaming like me?? is this stupid or can it happen.....our sport is growing, when is someone going to step up and take it to the next level.....who holds responsibility for progress...players? ams? pros? or TD's?
if we all help alittle bit maybe this would be possible!! if we dont dream we will just stay idle........
just an idea

Anything you suggest can be done. All it takes is a proactive person (don't look at me!) to make it happen.

As for scheduling conflicts and such, I think we should let Darwin decide. Only the strong tournaments will survive. People spread the word when payout is bad/good/ok. Convenience is what gets a lot of people there. Word of mouth is what makes them grow from year to year. Reputation is what keeps people coming back. You want your C or B-tier, or even your unsancioned event, to draw people when an A-tier is conflicting? Do more than the minimum.

Not me! I am not a proactive person /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I just try to goad others into being proactive :D

Nope. All I know how to do is post and play. And occaisionally donate a little labor.
