www.sunkingdiscs.com (http://www.sunkingdiscs.com) is taking pre-orders for Z-Comets. I've always kind of dug the X-Comet and I was curious to hear comments regarding the Z-Comet from those of you that have thrown one.

Anybody have or plan on having a Z-Comet in their bag?

I stayed a a discraft team members house this past weekend and he had some and they felt really really good - didn't get a chance to throw them....

The z-Comet is a great disc for people who like touch but extremely accuate shots up to 350 feet.

I would not suggest it to beginners, as it is still a comet and not the easiest to control. The disc requires a lot of touch.

That said, imagine this, a brand new x-Comet before it gets all beat up and flippy, when they are brand new they hold a line, hyzer or anhyzer, quite well. Now imagine a brand new x-Comet that is just a tad more stable, but when it beats in, it still acts like a brand new comet, all the time, throw after throw.

The z-Comet is also not nearly as touchy as an x-Comet, and can handle a much harder through, it still requires quite a bit of finesse, but not as much as a beat x-Comet.

I have been throwing a z-Comet almost exclusively for midrange and some drives in the > 350' range for almost a year, and I love them. I highly suggest anyone with a fair to high level of soft touch (be honest with yourself) to give one a go. Especially since they will soon be available for half the current price of $30.

Some of the things you can do with this disc are amazing, watching disc fly straight at a basket 350' away with literally no fade at the end is a beautiful and strange sight to see, especially when it leaves your hand.

So is it no longer going to be the Ron Russel Z-Comet?

I had won one, but did not like the feel so I traded it for a Z-Buzzz and a CH Firebird.

I guess not, it is just going to have the regular comet stamp on it from what I have gathered.

I have a couple, one of which was in my bag for several months. I heard about them at about the same time that Champ Cobras came out and was working on both discs at the same time. To me the Z-Comet flies like a more understable Cobra with a little more glide as well. Right now I have two Champ Cobras in my bag, 179g and 170g, and no Z-Comet. As the Z Comet aged it did what all my Comets have done albeit more slowly. It got unpredictably understable, in my hands at least.

Well, the Z-Comet has finally been released - what does everybody think? One thing that stuck out for me was how similar its flight was to the X-Comet. Usually a Z or Champion disc is more overstable than its regular plastic counterparts but that does not hold true in this case.

I love my Z Comet! I use it for anhyzer upshots and it holds the line I throw it on, just like my poor beat up X Comet.

Misinformed? No I just assumed. Did not think that the drive in to Pease would be profitable enough during the week but I forgot about the mini.
