As most of you have seen, there will be a small, fun, D-tier event this weekend in Janesville. It is the "WI Tour Warm Up". You can find some details on http://www.widiscsports.com/assets/wtw1.pdf .
The "ams" mean Am, Adv, Am Women, etc and "pro" means, Pro Master, Pro Women, Pro Men, etc. I am leary about how many trophies to have made since they will cut into the small payout and because it's hard to gauge how many people will be there.
On behalf of all the divisional winners, I will be cutting checks to whichever WI Tour Stop they wish to attend. Also - you do NOT need to be a PDGA member for this event but if you haven't already re-newed, I will have the info there and I will gladly send it in for you.

I apologize for not posting this earlier in the week like I had planned.
After doing a demonstration in Sheboygan on Saturday, I will be heading to Adelaide Park in Fond Du Lac. Starting around 3PM I should be set up for disc vending and a lengthy Q&A session with some WI pros.
If you ever wanted to learn how to throw really far you can count on not watching me but instead you learn from the guy that is LEADING THE WISCONSIN TOUR. Yes, Mike Schwieger is the guy that's currently throwing far and making waves while tearing up the WI Tour. He'll be present along with a few others.
Starting around 5:00 or 5:30, we'll have a semi-tournament with at least one round of golf and player's packages and discs being given out. Come check out the action!
If you have any questions, just give me a call anytime tomorrow - 414.803.3307. See you there.

This isn't much of an upcoming event but it seemed like a good place to post that the WI Tour Stats are updated.
We appreciate everyone's patience and support with this process. Typically the TD needs to get the event results to our stat keeper and then the stat keeper runs very sophisticated programs to get the data to line up correctly. We have had thousands of people play in the WI Tour Events in the past few years and things are as smooth as ever. Sometimes our volunteers get hung up so that's where the delay comes.
Stats were e-mailed to me at 11:15 this morning and once I got home at 12:30, I got them up. Enjoy. WI TOUR STATS (http://www.widiscsports.com/standings05.pdf)

Jan 23 2006, 09:39 PM
Speaking of the Tour Warm-up, what happened to hole #5 or maybe it's #6 at Janesville? It's the hole where the tee faces toward the river and there used to be row of tall bushes or small trees down the left side. You needed to throw a hard (rhbh) hyzer around them or I suppose some people went over the top. The row of trees is gone. It sure makes the hole play a lot easier. Any plans to move the pin come spring to increase the difficulty?
New pads on the front 9 are very nice. I struggled with my footing on the back 9 in the mud but who would think the ground wouldn't be frozen solid in January!
MARKB
Jan 24 2006, 02:47 PM
Are there any pictures of this course anywhere? I have never been out to play it. Are the new pads cement then I assume and the back 9 is still natural pads?
Chainiac
Jan 24 2006, 03:41 PM
I don't know if there are any pictures. The new pads are cement. Good size pads from what I remember. Back 9 pads are natural. Natural mud right now. There is a hole on the back 9 where you tee off from on top of a hill. Similar to #18 at Elver (Madison) or #1 at Grignon (Kaukauna). A great down hill shot where you grip it and rip it! I wasn't able to get any traction as the entire tee area was mud. I couldn't do my normal run up or I would have slipped and rolled down the hill. Just have to hope it doesn't rain for a few weeks before the tourney and the ground firms up.

It's getting a little late to send your registrations in by mail for the Menasha and New London Open which might risk not getting here in time.
To better prepare for the morning, I am now accepting email registrations (these will have lower priority than paid pre-registrations, but it will save your spot). Please send your name, address, phone, email, pdga number, division, and tournament you wish to register to aadgc@new.rr.com .
If you register by email, please plan on checking in and paying (by cash - please no checks on the day of the event) by 7:30 to guarantee your spot.
Pre-registrations will have priority in line for registration and check in.
We also just spent some hours today fixing up O'hauser in Menasha. It's going to be great.

I hope to see some WI reps at Lombard on May 20-21 for IOS #2. It should be alot of fun and its a nice course. IOS #1 filled with 200+ players and Lombard had over 140 players last year, so I'd expect another big turnout.
IOS#1 had 49 rec, 48 advanced, 41 intermediate, 23 Open, 11 Masters, and 9 adv masters.
Ace pool rolls over from #1 with 340 bucks.

Hey guys!
Dane has been in and out of the country so I figured I'd get on here and post to help him out.
The Baraboo Open will be a PDGA B-Tier and your next stop for the Wisconsin Tour. WI Tour stats have been officially updated so check them (http://www.widiscsports.com/standings06.pdf) out. Mail in registration is now closed because the event is in just a couple of days. Online registration has been coming in pretty steady for the past few days so the only way to secure your spot is to register online (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/index.php?cPath=24&osCsid=8f8ac4a2e8be3bdb40252e81425469fa) asap. You can also check out who is already registered right here. (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5815)
The following weekend is Ryan Hornickel's legendary Pickle Open. Like Dane's, it is a B-tier (but only for the Advanced and Pro Divisions) and the online tournament registration (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/index.php?cPath=24&osCsid=438923cdc7024380e4cbaa61808b69c6) is available and Sunday's competitors are listed here. (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5636)
And finally - we have the Badger State Games (June 24/25) which is offering a reduced entry fee if you register online with their website. (http://www.sportsinwisconsin.com/bsg/index.php?category_id=968&subcategory_id=946) You have to sign up by Friday though so please support the Badger State Games and enjoy beautiful Tokken Creek while you're at it.
If you have any questions about these events or others feel free to contact the TD directly or ask me about anything else.

How about the Nordic Mt. course in Mt. Morris, Wi. ?? That place looks GREAT Terry, Big props on that one!!!!!

I was up there around May because I remember that it was in the ground by the time Memorial Day kicked off. Unfortunately, I was in such a hurry with daylight and such that I did NOT even get the chance to play the course I designed!

Sorry Terry, but I did not enjoy Mt Morris much despite being hyped to play it as soon as I saw it on the Course Directory - I am not a left handed pro. My biggest gripe was that 12 or 13 of teh holes played for a LHBH player! It was long and pretty tough. Not that I didn't have fun, the location and setting was fantastic, I'd like woods a little more too, and there are plenty there that could be used more. Maybe it was also the fact that it was 95 degrees out at noon when I played in mid-July. I'd still play again - in late Oct, with a Beast and a lightweight Valk instead of my Crush.
Now, don't tear Kewaunee apart too much, it's my first one, and the county imposed some tight restrictions. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Tim,
It's fine that you do or don't like the layout. I only have a few days to do what I did up there and also keep in mind one VERY important point ... I designed that with the idea that there will eventually be 2 pins and 2 tees for EACH hole. Some of the ones there are the short pin or short tee and some are the long pin or long tee. I didn't want to design just the short course or just the long course off the bat so I mixed that up for the intial installation.
Moving BACK onto the topic on hand I want everyone to know that there are LEAGUES starting tonight at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex in Franklin!
Luke will be doing the majority of it and I'll be helping out when I'm done teaching my disc golf class at UW Parkside. We will play 2 rounds of 9 until the back 9 gets permanently installed!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

PIN HIGH TOUR FINALE - OCTOBER 7TH
Pin High Tour Stats http://www.aadgc.com/pinhighstandings.html
The Pin High Tour Finale is October 7th at O'hauser Park in Menasha. You need register and pay your entry fee ($20) by 9:00am to be included in the Skins shuffle. There is over $1300 collected from the Pin High Tour Events that will added in cash (Pros) and funny money (ADVs and AMs). There is also a $20 entry fee that will go towards the skins amount.
I wanted to tell you a future story about Joe Discer. He only played one Pin High Tour event and ended up in one of the last places in the stats. Since the Finale skins match is only limited to 72 (20 pros, 28 Advanced, and 24 Intermediates), Joe didn't think he'd get in, so he didn't attend. He later found out that there were only 20 Intermediates that showed up, and he would have gotten in no matter what place he was in the stats. Don't let this be a future story about you. I'm so sure that all divisions will not fill, that IF ALL DIVISIONS DO FILL, I will put up $100 to split (Cash for Pros, Funny Money for ADV and INT) for anyone that doesn't get a chance to play in the skins match due to space.
You can always play the random pro-am doubles match in the afternoon at 1:00. This is open to everyone.
Take a look at the Pin High Tour Finale webpage. http://www.aadgc.com/pinhightourfinale.html
2007 PIN HIGH TOUR STARTS OCTOBER 21
The first event of the 2007 Pin High Tour is October 21 at Grignon Park in Kaukauna - The Paper Valley Open. http://www.aadgc.com/papervalleyopenflyer.pdf
SOME CHANGES FOR THE 2007 PIN HIGH TOUR
The tour points are being figured differently this year. For 2006, you got a point for you and everyone you beat or tied. For 2007, you will get a point for every percentage point that you beat or tie. For example, if you beat 100% of the players in the tournament, you will receive 100 points. If you beat 50% of the players, you'll get 50 points and so on.
ATTENTION 2007 TD'S
If you want to learn how your event can be added to the 2007 Pin High tour, contact me. It's easier than you think. I'll send out another email explaining the details.
www.DISCGOLFSCHEDULE.COM (http://www.DISCGOLFSCHEDULE.COM) - your portal to disc golf events everywhere
If you have a tournament you want listed, let me know. It doesn't matter if it's part of a tour or not. It doesn't matter if it is a small tournament or a huge tournament. It doesn't matter if it is a weekend event or a mini or a league. I will list any tournament if you ask - no charge.

This Saturday Oct 14th, Ace Race at Winter Park in Kewaunee.
Email or Call if you plan on attending and I will hold a players pack (10 remaining).
[If we need more by Wednesday night, we could overnight some]
Email and I will send you pictures of the shortened layout and additional event information.
175 ft average length per hole (including easy ace-runs off the hill at 320 and 360 feet). Added temp holes through tight wooded "tunnels" ranging from 125 to 200 feet. We anticipate LOTS of chains! Some holes will lend themselves to that perfect flight and one sweet ace.
CTPs, $2 ace pool per round, cash added for aces off the ski hill, raffle for Innova Traveler and other discs, probably a free beef-dogs lunch from the local meat market, bring a grill and drinks and hang out all day for doubles and glow rounds after the race (it gets DARK out there at night on the hills).
Call and let me know if you want to camp at my place that night instead of driving home (or I can refer you to other places to stay).

Are any details available other than the dates for the AM and PRO Howler events?
Fees? Times?

Hello everyone,
It might be fall but there is there seems to be more happening in disc golf right now than any other time of the year.
I’ll try to be somewhat chronological with my updates.
First off there are 2 events going on this upcoming weekend. The first one is a grand opening of a new Am Worlds course which is at Dineen Park in Milwaukee. It is the King of the Club and it is open to everyone. If you are not a current GLDGC Club member you can become on there. Check out the website for more details: GLDGC King of the Club (http://gldgc.com/kinghome.html)
The second event is hosted in Janesville. Randy “Jake” Jacobson is hosting the “Last Throw Before the Snow”. Registration is from 8 to 9. If you have questions, contact Randy with either method: 608.346.8202 or jakej1955@msn.com
Then Milwaukee will be hosting the Halloween Howler Am weekend on October 28th. The Pro weekend will be on November 4th. If you have questions or would like more information about the event please feel free to contact Mark Peterson (262) 644-6094.
The following weekend the Wisconsin Disc Sports Association is going to host its 3rd installment of “The Summit”. This is the opportunity for people to get out and voice their opinions, concerns, questions, or complaints about DISC SPORTS in Wisconsin. Do you play ultimate and hope to make it more popular? Maybe you would like to help maintain a website because that’s a skill set of yours. Or maybe you just want to be a fly on the wall in a room with movers and shakers so that you have facts instead of rumors? Whatever the case might be, just shoot me an e-mail and I’ll gladly get you on the e-vite list for this “The Summit”.
Shortly after The Summit concludes we will have a meeting about the Am and Pro Worlds that are taking place next summer. Please think about how you would like to be involved with those events. Each event has a staff but we are always looking to grow them!
As always, let me know if you have any questions,
Thanks,

Most of the time you can also go to WIDiscSports (http://www.widiscsports.com) for all of your event scheduling needs.
Just a few seconds of research can save plenty of hassle everywhere else.
