 :D
this weeekend is the twelveth, meeting...WE'RE ELECTING ADMINISTRATORS, if enough people show up.. whatever we do I have to have a club on paper to send to the city so that we can get our course installation finished. I'll be bringin trash bags so we can clean the course...yes i'll bring my digital camera so we can show the city..then get our adoptapark status! I'll have my axe there too, bring nippers or some vine and brush clearing tools...we're running out of fall, the buds are gettin bigger. Daysun and I hopefully can get together this week and open our bank accounts. If those that said they were going to be in the club want to show this weekend, we might something done!.. we need to talk about what we want from the city, and put it on paper. we also club fundraiser stuff to roll...yes I can do that too, would anyone like to help the club and offer some insight into what's best, or even just what you want, anything positive would be great.
Clubs are for those that want to be together...let's start talking, and get together and DO SOMETHING! I'll edit this later, got class then work, Hope you're enjoying the day at the course!

That will be fine for the few of us that watch this board, but...
I'd suggest that you actually set a date and time, post a flyer at the course announcing it, send out a mass e-mail using the fdgc.org mailing list, and then announce it on this forum. This way you may get better representation, and people won't be able to say that they didn't know about the meeting.
It sounds like there are some important issues to discuss at that meeting.

bout time i step up and get this going, any help offered will be greatly appreciated and is needed...
the reasons for starting the club, fun for everyone, stuff for members, bettering disc golf in our area through organized functions, educating the public. If we are to represent the ideals and beliefs that embody disc golf, then we better start acting like it, the public will gain only a negative image of disc golf if we do not stand together.

the bank account will be open tomorrow, the city was offering a little motivation, that's all (still in good standing)...currently i need info on cheap t-shirts in town, info on discraft disc ordering, gateway too. we need a club stamp.i will be calling everyone who gave their number as soon as i get that info from aleksey, then elections, if we need to we can have just a president and vice, then we can setup a tourny finally and on to t-shirts and discs for members then, of course, there is scheduling course maintenance

I want a big happy family

I'm not really sure what you mean by my being able to prevent all of this years ago, and I sure hope you don't consider me a savior. Maybe that's part of the problem.
You guys made your bed, now lie down in it.
I made it very clear how the FDGC funds would be transferred to the NADGC. I'll repeat it now- When you get non-profit status, and you open a bank account, we will turn over the funds on a matching basis.
As far as "your $100.00"- We only collected the $1.00 for the club during mini's for a period of 12-18 months. You played in 100 mini's during that time? I don't think so. You donated winnings? I don't recall that. You donated cash? I don't recall that.
What has the FDGC done for you lately? That's funny!

Life according to FurDog.

Flying G - Your club and its members would be better served with administrators vs President and Vice president. Get hold of Wayne Forest for a copy of our by laws and articles. I'm not saying that Tulsa knows what it is doing but we do have 10+ courses and the 2006 Am Worlds. :D

I agree with Twoputt on this one. We still need to have a board and vote on them next meeting. Does anyone know if we can just take the FDGC non profit but just change the name that would solve that problem right there. Also I was at the course today teaching a newbie how to play and I ran across an old man hitting golf balls and he told me that the other day he saw a golfer walking through the woods with a machete cutting down stuff over by hole three he also said that he saw a person on hole four pretty much take out a tree by jumping on it so he could make is approach shot with out the tree in his way. This stuff needs to stop a sign needs to be posted on the board at the park reminding everyone about the fine for vandalism and messing with the sacred trees at lake fayetteville. we don't need to be putting each other down or saying I told you so. That doesn't help anything we need to work together as a club and things will get done a lot quicker and more efficient. Ganzel I agree I think we need to talk to a tee-shirt designer next week. I have a friend who works in Graphic design if we come up with something she could design it for us. then all we have to do is take it to the tee shirt place and let them stamp it. Dasun works with Innova through his school disc can be ordered through them for the club if they won't stamp it we need to call discraft and see what they can do for it. Until then I have plastic that we can give to the AM for winning the minis on the weekend if they don't want to play pro. I am going to be gone all weekend in Tulsa playing Green Country but if you want to give me a call we can set up a time to try and do this stuff. The first thing that we need to do is get that bank account open with you and Dasun!!! Maybe you guys can do that tomorrow or early next week I know that Dasun is leaving to go to visit Family I just don't know when he is leaving.

Our official meeting as posted on the board at Northshore is on the 27th of March and I hope all will be there. As far as the vandalism is concerned we cannot help what college kids and other people do. What we can prevent is throwing around accusations when we don't have our facts straight. It looked like on hole #14 someone went off on the bushes because they were mad or something I don't know, but accusations are not cool expecially when made at people who have worked hard to get the course in good shape in the first place. We are getting some club stuff together we just all need to get on the same paige.

That "Air Biscuit" you ate was courtesy of your uncle Dave Wise, .....whom so descretely "floated" three to four sink bombs into our cabin on Saturday morning. We dealt with it the best we could and I'm sorry it happened to cross your virgin nose. But don't blame the FurDogGolfClub. This club is all about fun and love for Discgolf. We don't cut trees and we don't elect presidents. And as far as Disc Golfers go,......"They ain't smelly,.....their my brothers and sisters.!" :D By the way, the Horseshoe rules, but you won't find any of my brown packages there. Before you can open your bank account under an asscoiation name, you must first have your letter of non profit status, federal tax ID number and your Constitution or by laws. The bank will want these for this type of organization. Other wise you will just need to open a personal account, which I highly recommend that you do not do. Patience, fellas, I know you want this thing to get off the ground but you must do it in a certain order and right now it appears that you're putting the cart in front of the horse.

Since you guys are not posting here, I will give you a copy of what I just posted on the Tulsa thread.

I just received a phone call from a VERY reliable source and was notified that the course at North Shore in Fayetteville has beed closed for two weeks. This decision by the city is due to the vandalism at the park, primarily the damaging of trees in the park. Now, they only said the course was closed for two weeks, but it is spring break at the college there and there will be casual players trying to go out there. By having players out there on the course after it was posted that it is closed may be the excuse the city is looking for to have the course pulled all together.

This message was posted for the purpose of notifying the Tulsa players that may have had plans to travel over there this comming weekend. Hopefully the local players in Fayetteveille will get the word out and not give the city the excuse that it needs.

WTF? What are you guys doing over there?
Go plant some extra trees or something. Buy them some red buds, he11 buy them some flowers, anything to not have the course pulled. :(

The Saturday before last I saw someone "trimming" the pine on hole 5. But that was supposed to be the clean-up day for the course before the mini. Happy Easter everyone. Sorry i missed the meeting yesterday, since no one has called, i will call everyone and let them know that the city is interested in keeping the disc golf program here in fayetteville. I support the city's decision to close the course, they have effectively sent a single message to every disc golfer here, and have put enough fire under your azzes that we may have a club yet. I know nothing else to do but give the powers that be a more simplified course plan, with a handy reference to all of the pdga course development guidelines...i'll include the same bird's eye view maps, each marked accordingly to each issue, and this time, i'm printing some pics. if any of you have some pics to include, that would be great. Actually, this time, i think we should also include all of the "annexes" found on the proposal page. I give them the info, i say we are here for advice, and volunteer maintenance. This is what needs to be done, this is what can be done. The city listened last time, said ok lets go....things have to be more specified on their end and ours this time...no bending of any rules anymore for anyone. This is what i know, the city, she is patient, and you all, you all know what to do.

Mar 27 2005, 05:33 PM
Sounds like everything is moving back to what can only be a good outcome. Comunication is the key and as long as you all stay together as a group or club, the city will ultimately realize the good that DG can bring. Good luck hogs. I for one stand with you in this effort. :D

Mar 28 2005, 01:31 AM
This may be off-topic, but does anyone know anything about the little DG course north of Siloam Springs? I was driving around there today and noticed at least 10 baskets. It looks like someone put them out there several years ago on their land. I don't know what kind of baskets they were but they only had one set of chains (not the second, interior set), and several of them had flags on top.
I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was just someone's own personal course, or if maybe other people could play too.

Mar 28 2005, 03:07 AM
I'm not sure if it's the course you're talking about, but I know there is a course at a camp north of Siloam. I believe it's New Life Ranch. They have a full 18 holes if I remember correctly. They've been there for a few years.

Mar 28 2005, 12:46 PM
No it wasn't at New Life Ranch, although I didn't know that they had one. That is really cool.
The one I was talking about is just north of city lake and and a little east of and south of Swepco lake. I thought about knocking on one of the neighbors doors, but it didn't look like anyone was home. This one definently looks like it was put up by someone a while ago, it also looks like it probably plays pretty short.

Quote per Kevin McCoy. He might be a little bias though. :D

"YOU GUYS! YOU GUYS!

I have to say that I have found the longest driver on the market. Innova sent me some Proline Starfires about a month ago and I didn't put them in the bag right away. I would have to say that I made a huge mistake, because these puppies fly a MILE! I took them out to test yesterday at Hunter. On the 380 ft hole number #9 I threw it long, over the basket and way over the creek by 40feet. I tested it out on hole # 14 and almost threw it in the pond. I was a good 100 feet past the pin and that hole is 430 feet. If you can get your hands on these discs do it. THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL HOLYFIELD!"

Mar 29 2005, 01:24 AM
I don't know for sure, but it might be Joe Huss' land. he told me he lived in Silom with a bunch of property and a few baskets on it.

I just got one of the prolines (Which have completley different turn ratings than the CFR's), and they hold one of the straightest lines I've ever seen. Almost like an ultra fast teebird. I don't know how they are going to break in, but out of the box, it seems like a great disc.

And that was with NO hottub...thank goodness for icee hot, huh? I think we should reconsider the abusive environment forced upon our elderly at horseshoe, and applaud your courageous endeavor of proving that you don't need a cane to play golf at that age. I noticed that your threat was one of only physical danger...i get that all the time, people get so upset when a scrawny little 140 pounder can throw 500' and woop them on any course any day...of course i can only do it one hole at a time, i'm no pro, nor do i have the sage enough to keep my mouth shut...truly, i am trembling at the thought of a wrinkly arm approaching my chops at the breakneck speed of a wet fart. :) :o

Don't spend your day's floundering on the shore's of self-inflated ego. That's our job! :cool:Your ultimate place in this world is to go to work and pay for my social security, medicare, and viagra. The meeting went well. It was very therapeutic for all.
Northshore re-opened on Friday, April 1.
The course will remain pretty much as is until "all parties" agree upon a re-design. The physical re-design will not occur until September.
The NWADGC now has a Board of Directors, and a Course Improvement Committee. The Board will meet on the last Wednedsday of each month.
We are awaiting aproval of our proposed League Schedule. League, formerly called "minis", will consist of Saturday Singles, Sunday Double, and Wednesday Something(?).
Every player who plays in a league event will contribute 50 cents toward the Northshore Course Improvement Fund.
The NWADGA has also established a Reward Fund for information leading to the future arrest and conviction of any individual(s) vandalizing the course.
More to follow...
BTW- Alma's course has been re-designed and Fort Smith just opened a course at Ben Geren Park.

Apr 05 2005, 03:41 AM

I'll talk to the City and see if we can't get something done about that wind. It's really annoying. I think if we just built a great big wall around the whole course, and then put a roof on that, we'd be in business. Or maybe... we could get a course put in at Bud Walton Arena. Yeah... I'll get to work on that. ;)

Apr 10 2005, 12:33 AM
Played the course there and the new layout in Alma both today. The course at Ben Geren is around to the left when you come in the park. Follow the road around the left toward the golf course. Past the BMX track there is parking lot and kiosk with a paved trail heading out intot the woods, You just found it. #1 tee is to the right and #10 tee is to the left of the parking lot (facing the lot from the road).

There is a ton of room at Ben Geren to both lengthen the course they have in now and plenty of room to add another right beside it.

Hey guys, Colin here. Who, from fayetteville or surrounding areas, is going to Riverside Glide? When are you going? I would like to go to the tourney but I'd like to catch a ride since I've never been to tulsa. If anybody wants to give me a ride or knows anyone who can give me a ride, let me know. I'd really love to play a tourney since I haven't played since I moved up here. I'd like to see the difference between a PDGA event and a SNDG event. Also, if I can get a ride, I'm wondering what division I should play? I was thinking AMs but I'd like to move up to advanced to have a shot at AM WORLDS next year, but I know if people like daysun and kyle play advanced that I would not do well in Advanced since I've never even come close to shooting what they shoot. So Alexi, Ganzel, Kyle, Watsun, Daysun, Darrell, etc. Let me know what division you think I should play. ALSO, IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME A RIDE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

The Jones Center now has a nine hole that is designed for kids (900 feet or so) ....can we say mini golf? or maybe darrell would like to invite those tulsa boys to a course more fitting their needs? :o just thought i'd let ya'll know

Before you trash the Tulsa guys, you may want to re-look at your efforts this last weekend at the Glide. :o

You're a 933 rated player that barely shot 900 for the whole weekend, at RIVERSIDE?

This new 900ft course may be just what you need to get your confidence back. The score you shot wouldn't have given you a win in any division but Jrs. :o:D:o

Jul 13 2005, 05:58 PM
Before you trash the Tulsa guys, I dare you to find someone at your course who can out throw Tulsa's big boys.

Don't say Boob's b/c I know ppl who can out drive them, and they all carry Tulsa Disc Sports cards.

Besides that, I still want to congratulate you on some excellent play at the NWA Doubles.

It was a good trip. Boobs set the course record at the world's LONGEST course....10,720' (a 62 ) and I was only ten strokes behind'em, took fifth....Denny was only seven out that round, and finished sixth. Super Dave took home a nice second place trophy at his first out of state tourny! And if any of you from Kansas City read this...Thank you for an Awesome tournament and a truly challenging disc golf course...oh yeah..we'll be back. The mini drawing was nice too...Arkansas took home twenty bucks and a new aluminum case clay poker chip set...Good golfers up there too....KC is a very cool place to play!
