Taken directly from www.discgolflive.com (http://www.discgolflive.com)

"Disc Golf Live Video Magazine is a bimonthly program all about the sport of disc golf. Whether you are new to the game or a wizened veteran, DGL has something to offer. Tournament action, player spotlights, course reviews, and tips to improve your game are just a few of the topics covered on DGL."

The second episode of Disc Golf Live is now on the air. It can be seen on cable channel 14 (matamedia.org) in the following areas: Milwaukee, Fox Point, Brown Deer, River Hills, Shorewood, Bayside, Whitefish Bay, and Glendale. It airs Thursdays at 7 p.m. (except 1/27), Saturdays at 2:30 p.m., and Sundays at 7 p.m.

The third episode should air during the month of February. Each succeeding episode will likely follow every other month (April, June, August, etc.). I will post the days and times each new episode will air as it becomes available.

Thanks for the update, Mike! I appreciate the time you take to facilitate broadcast of DGL in the Milwaukee area and I hope folks will get a chance to tune in and catch some disc golf on TV.

Anyone else interested in getting a free copy of DGL for submission to their local public/community access station should contact me.

Individual subscriptions for the show are also available on DVD or VHS if your area doesn't have public access TV or if you just want a copy for home viewing.

Thanks also to the PDGA and Innova for their ongoing support of Disc Golf Live.

You're welcome Joe. Thank you for Disc Golf Live and making the show so accessible. Hopefully Greater Milwaukee will produce some footage in 2005 for future episodes.

I was hoping some of the Real Ice Bowl might be caught on tape this year. If you know of anyone who might be interested in hauling out the equipment, let me know. I've emailed the TD but we haven't gotten on the same page yet.

An Ice Bowl segment might be a cool edition to a show sometime next summer, just when we need a break from the heat. I'll have some Hawaiian DG next show so we can all have a break from the cold!

I know the tournament director of what is now "The Big Chill" - formerly "The Real Ice Bowl." I'll see what I can do.

I cant seem to find it on my cable guide. Channel 14 only says Public Access through the whole thing.

I did see that Meno Falls was not listed at the top. So is it me or my Local Cable Company?

Jeff,

The area Mike has it aired on doesn't cover our viewing area. That's why you can't view it.

GLDGC Meeting tonight everyone! It's at the Sports Complex just before open gym night. 7pm to 9pm. Then open gym. Bring your PDGA renewals for the Club Affiliate Program!

I've seen it over at Larry's house before and he lives in Wauwatosa close to Milw. I live in Franklin and I do not get the channel even though we have same cable and I live in Milw County

Thanks for submitting the show to the station and posting the info, Mike. (And for the recent and much appreciated show of support I got in the mail!).

Anyone else living in an area served by community access TV who wants a copy of the show to submit for local broadcast can give me a shout. You can check with your station about broadcast guidelines and how to submit a show, then folks in your area can enjoy some DG on TV.

Joe

p.s. Any of you WI folks who are involved with the upcoming Worlds might consider doing some taping at your feature courses to help show folks around the country what to expect when the event goes down.

Joe,

As the Worlds Project moves forward, I'll certainly keep that suggestion in mind. We'll know more about the development of our new course(s) in the next month or so.

PS - We took some footage of indoor night last night. It includes some putting, DDC, and world class free stylers! I'll see how many roommate plans to edit the footage.

Hi, ADG.

I've found that the best way to get the lowdown on how to get a show on the air is to watch the station for contact info. Most community access stations list at least a phone contact; some restrict what can be one to government meetings and the like, but many allow viewer submissions. Start with the contact info and go from there to speak with someone at the station directly.

Terry- thanks - it sounds like the footage would make a good little segment. Keep me posted as things develop.

I think that i have some footage that may be suitable for Disc Golf Live.......I would have to get the rights from T. Dogg first....

Hello Everyone-

It's been a while since anything has been posted about Disc Golf Live. It's still airing about three times per week. Check out the first post in this thread for information including where it can be seen. While I spearheaded bringing Disc Golf Live to the area, Terry Miller assumed duties for a while. I took it back, but will be moving to Madison in about a month.

I am looking for someone to:

1) Receive new copies of Disc Golf Live. The dvds are mailed to my home every other month.
2) Bring new episodes to MATA Community Media. It's located near Marquette University. Parking is not an issue as MATA has its own lot.
3) Post here every other month with the days and times the new episodes can be seen.

It boils down to dropping off a half dozen dvds per year and posting a half dozen updates on this thread. It's not difficult nor glamorous, but it does expose almost a million people to disc golf on a regular basis. Good things can come from that. Oh, and this costs nothing. Disc Golf Live does encourage donations. I took proceeds from the Wham Bam Thank You Am in the past. Perhaps the GLDGC would cover the moderate cost of $48 per year. Please reach out to me if you are willing to step up.

Thanks,

Mike
