Hopefully we'll have enough to do mixed teams again. February 20th will not be the date any longer............Toolen noticed that is the weekend of ZBoaz pro so we'll move it. As soon as Terry picks a new day I'll post it.

I think it would be great if we could split our charities this year. Half going to the TAFB, and the other half towards the Tsunami Relief.

Any thoughts?

I agree with John MyHero, we should have half going to tsunami relief.

Uhhh......Isn't there a SUPER TOUR known as the Z-BOAZ BIG SHOW going on Feb. 20th?????

How can we be at two events in the same county at one time? Maybe the ADGA ICEBOWL date is incorrect?

Ooops. I still have tequila in my blood from New Years Eve. I thought that the diarrhea of bogies yesterday at the Z took care of the rest of the Tequila....guess not!

John,

while your intentions are absolutely in the right spot, please consider this: MANY local charities are affected by reduced donations when a large, global size emergency occurs, as many good-spirited people redirect their contribution towards to victims of the huge disaster.

while i share your horror at what happened in asia, and your desire to help those victims, i urge the ADGA to remember that there are just as many needy people right here in the metroplex as ever, and they need our continued, strong support.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s report finds that more than 1 million Texans are hungry. That places Texas in the #2 spot on the most-hungry states!!! The report also said 5 percent of Texas families go hungry. In one of the wealthiest, most agriculturally rich states in the nation lies an ugly truth: Over 3.1 million people in Texas are "food insecure", meaning they don't always know where they will get the groceries or money for their next meal. This number includes approximately 874,000 Texans who may suffer from outright hunger, which means that at least one family member has skipped meals due to limited resources.

that being said, i propose keeping the ADGA Ice Bowl proceeds at home, and bestowing our full gift to our traditional recipient. it is needed more than ever as other local benefactors divert portions of their contributions to the asian disaster.

Yes. The downfall of splitting the charity would be taking away from the local area. I don't want to do that. Maybe we, the ADGA, should run a mini in honor of the Tsunami relief efforts. I'd gladly donate some plastic.

Pat has a good point. The US has alot of hungry people and alot of homeless kids too. I also read that Arlington homeless kidds was around 2,000 back around 2001. Look at the past events the US had.
Twin Towers, Hurricanes, and others . The point is when the US is in need of help there is no help besides us.
Lets not get caught up in the politics of the world.
Many country men have died for the US and i really believe that its in their souls for us to help one another here before we send help elswhere.
Its a traggic event that happened.

If I lived in Texas and I was hungry...I'd pitch me a tent around San Saba....I ain't never seen so many goats per square mile, anywhere.....they'll never miss a couple hundred a year.....

Terry alredy posted the date.

This Sunday, last year was best shot the first round and then Alt shot. But you both get to drive and you pick a shot to take and play alt shot from there.

It was either $40 a team or $20 a team.

Any more quesions? :p

Feb 13 2006, 10:49 AM
$40 a team with a side ace pot of $5. Sign up between 7:30 and 9:00. Format is correct. Best shot first round and Modified Alternating the second round.

When G talked to Loompa on Sunday there were only 12 teams, I'm not sure on how many were in what division, so I've been waiting for the man in the know to post .

Feb 23 2006, 12:46 PM
Hated missing it. But after seeing the weather, I was glad I had to work :D

Feb 23 2006, 02:00 PM
Watch it Jason!! WE had 12 teams for the REAL Ice Bowl. 25 degree's when I got out to the park at 7. 29 when I left at 5. Too bad we have that burn ban in effect. I could have kept warmer. My asst TD Andrew deceided he would play and that left me freezing at the pavillion all day. At least the pizza was warm. I will post scores tomorrow. Brice L and Shawn R won Open that had 2 teams. IT was allot of fun for the players. Starting both round there was a heavy down fall of light snow. Blowing pretty good for a while. Hole 5's tee pad was completely ice for most of the first round as well as others that I did not see.
