well since ODSA.com took a dump, I was thinking that we could breathe new life into this board in the meantime

This board is pretty stagnant. Wonder when ODSA will be back up again. Nice rating jump Brillo. Your almost a legitimate adv player now. The ratings minimum for each division IMO need a rethinking. I think 915 is much too high a cutoff for the AM2 division. Should be around 850 to 875 at most. Im at 871 now and was playing ADV, now Im playing open here. Need to give the am2s a break, they are the backbone of tournaments and our sport. What do you think Naked Man?

Buehler, Buehler, anyone Buehler...

Thanks, but if we were to have decreased the "bump-up" line between AM and Adv, I would have never been able to finish the year as an AM, and this was my first year competing in tournaments. The main thing that will make people step up, will be the shame and ridicule that they will get from their fellow players :D

Yeah, but that wasnt enough to make you move up. I understand wanting to finish the year in same division, but I dont believe its fair to the other AM2s. Their needs to be some change to make it easier for the beginners. Like I said, they are the backbone of our sport and need some encouragement to play tournaments. Now with Pros being able to play am, I think things are going to be going down hill for the ADV players. Is there any other sport that allows someone who has taken cash to compete in the amateur division? I thought the definitional difference between the two was having receieved cash. Will have to wait and see how the year turns out, but I believe there will be some issues on this rule change.

but don't you believe that once you start figuring out your game and getting better, that you should have a bit of sucess, before you move up an dfeel dijected from constantlyfinding yourself farther down the leader board? I understad that you get better playing against better competition, but at the same point, some of my groups that I have been in as an AM2, were at a high skill level and we were able to learn from each other. Well I have moved up and I am not sure when I will go pro. I am not sure it is worth the extra cost, just top play with opponent who are not any better than the Adv. that I am playing with. I may move to pro, when I feel that I have chance to bring home cash/place. I know that I may seem greedy, but I can live with that :D

I understand wanting to enjoy being at the top, but in am2 one plays against the bottom of the barrel. I feel it dashes the hopes of newbies when the top of am2 is shooting even or under. Doesnt seem quite fair. I figure win one tournament then move up. Which FYI I didnt even win one before moving up. I just decided it was time to elevate my game. Its funny here because there is no am division, only open. So I went from am2, played two events as adv, and then straight into open. I feel its defintetly improved my game though. Plus I had to learn to throw the 150 class, which added to the difficulty. Cant wait to throw in the states and use the 150s and the max weight both. Should really improve my game. Anyway, Happy New Year Jeremy, I miss playing with you and wish you the best of success in the new year brother.
