Ice Bowl '05

The Ice Bowl next year in Augusta will be held at Patriots Park on February 5. We have done really well with this event in the past, but our club is growing and we should make this the best one yet. The most money our club has raised for charity is $1700, which ranks 35th in most money raised at an Ice Bowl. That is good, but Charlotte last year raised $9000, mostly by a couple of people going around collecting.
The entry fee will be $20, and will include an Ice Bowl stamped disc; there will also be CTP's, a basket throw-off, raffles, and other various fun activities. Please get creative and help me and Clester Hornsby (first time TD's) make this an awesome event. More to come...

I am not sure where you got your figures but they are in fact incorrect. Augusta has been in the top ten in terms of money raised in the past. The official ice bowl results include pounds of food.
We have done much better than the national average two years in a row and need to keep it up!!!

I think two years ago Augusta was seventh in money raised with $1700, but I was referring to the most money raised at any Ice Bowl in the 15 or so years it has been running. Granted most of the clubs that are raising many thousands of dollars are much larger than ours, but I don't think there is much of a problem with setting our goal very high. The worst that can happen is we come up short, but our charity would never know the difference and would be greatful for whatever we can donate.
I think it is awesome what our Club (and in particular Jon and Sue) has done in the past with this event, and now that we are really getting it together around here I think we can exceed what we've accomplished.

We will have 18 permanent targets in the ground :)

Howdy Augusta! Our (Rock Hill Disc Golf Club's) Ice Bowl is January 22nd. It will be held at Boyd Hill, our new course. All proceeds go to Special Olympics and the Pilgrims Inn food bank! I hope to see lots of you there! Sam :D:D:D

We here in Charlotte ask people to donate money over canned goods. It is easier for all involved, especially the food banks.

I would like to say thanks to the folks from Augusta that made it to Easley for our Icebowl. We where able to raise $650.00 and about 300 lbs. of food for the home with a heart. We had fewer people than last year but raised the same money and 50 more puonds of food. The weather was great. I think the course was in great shape considering we are still working on the back nine. It was nice to have Y'all up for the first official tourney on the permanent 18 holes.
