Been hearing rumors of a new course in Farminton, around 8 mile and Farmington roads. Anyone know about this?

Ive been told the LIZARD LAWYER is going to be the course designer and its only going to be 9 holes. They will have a temp setup for tournament rounds though. I hear maybe some 700 foot holes on the 9 though. If the Lizard is doing the design you better believe that it will be tough :D

Lizzard Lawyer...

Is that Mark Ellis? He throws a forehand, so I can expect a lot of right turns!

Thanks

"lizard lawyer layout" would make a course BALANCED, not lefty friendly, not righty friendly. which, is the way ALL courses should be.

So, just exactly WHERE IS IT? I drove around the area but didn't see anything. Also, when does it open, and what is it called?

Mark was showing us the situation at the tournament in Byron. The park is in Livonia and the course is nowhere near being installed. It could be a good nine, or maybe a good 12, if Mark really gets permission to do whatever he wants with the woods. It is in the early design phase right now.

Is the park called Bicentennial or Founders Field?

Can't remember. Look for a park with several soccer fields ringed on two or three sides with woods. In the woods there is a creek.

Sounds like it is at Bicentennial which is in Livonia at 7 mile west of farmington.

Frisbee Golfers,

On the first Monday in May @ 5:30pm, the inagural league will kick off at the new disc golf course in Farmington Hills. The course is being installed in Founders Park on 8 mile road near Gill in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Founders Park is a small park that contains an ice arena, softball and soccer fields and a 9 hole disc golf course, named "The Farm" to be installed in April. Founders Park is in the southwest corner of Farmington Hills. Exit I-275 expressway at 8 mile road, travel east for about 1/2 a mile and turn left (north) into the parking lot.

The course sits between the softball and soccer fields and has two ponds, a stream and some tight woods. Waterproof shoes may be advisable. 3 of the holes are over 400 feet long. For tournaments we anticipate closing the softball and soccer fields to create 9 additional temporary holes of considerable length, difficulty and uniqueness.

The design team includes Brian Farmer and Dan Peron, both employees of Farmington Hills Parks & Rec, Critter Bill Themm and me. As expected, all holes are righty hyzers of varying lengths.

Cool! Thanks, Mark for your effort. Is there anything I can do to help out? I live in Livonia, so its not far away.

I saw the area where the course will be going in yesterday it looks pretty nice but there is a decent amount of water.
