i have not once, but twice fallen into a creek in tournament play.
Story 1.
Zebulon NC, 2003 Am Crosstown, Hole 6.
The hole bends to the right and a creek runs all the way down the fairway....a guy in my group threw into it, and I was lready down there, so I grabbed his for him. I jumped back up the creek, and realized I was in front of his lie, so I walked backwards, trying to get in his way, and fell right down the creek I had just crawled out of.
Story 2
About two weeks at Tarheel tournament, at UNC, hole 9. The hole is surronded by a creek. I was starting on hole 10, and was on the bridge that crossed over the creek. While on the bridge, I rolled my ankle. Trying to catch my balance, I missed the bridge and fell directly back into the creek
Needless to say, I wear seal skins

Not winning at courses where I have dominated in the past.

Losing track of my score on a hole and giving the wrong score when asked, only to play the hole back in your head with the group and have to correct it. Wanna get away ?
I crapped in my shorts, diarrhea, but not before letting loose the most egregious fart I have ever let loose. Even the wind couldn’t dissipate its petulant fury. After the aforementioned stained shorts occurred I simply went to the course outhouse, conveniently located at the next tee, and threw my stanky underwear in the pit at which you sit. Never skipped a beat and played a-la-natural for the rest of the round.

that is by far the grossest thing i have heard in a while!
I was trying to show off for a bunch of guy at the tee box behind me..... by the way i am a chick! :-) well I was getting ready to throw and well the disc went out of my hand and into on coming traffic...... it glanced off of a windshield and caused a wreck! i was humilated and glad that i was just visiting the course! :-P :o

I wonder what the police report looked like.
Well I was just driving along, and this frisbee crashed into my windshield...
Having to put my clothes back on.

And here I was thinking that to "gamble and lose" would be the most embarrasing thing. But I haven't quite lost on the course, so I couldn't post it!

Having to explain to people how I:
<ul type="square"> 1) Tore my ACL throwing a disc 2) Got run over by a truck playing catch with my nephew. We were throwing an Omego SS putter around at a course, he overthrew the disc out towards the parking lot, I ran out to catch it, and directly in front of an oncoming truck. Luckily only broke my leg and his windshield. [/list]
catching my shoe lace on my other shoe, tripping and rolling down a hill ( BAG,DISC,MINI WATER,SEEDS)flying everywhere
missing really short putts when i first started playing. that sucks! :D

Parking 4 holes and making a 3 4's and a 5 on those holes. Those drives were inside 20 feet.
So id have to say 3 putting 3 times and 4 putting once from inside 20 during a round :o
Or being 11 over after 7 holes :o

Probably when i was tied for the lead in a super tour, and on the last hole, i threw a roller that struck a tree 200' down the fairway, the disc split in half, and the LARGER half STUCK O.B. 15 feet up in a tree!!!!!!!!!
It was embarassing, funny, and probably one in a million chances of happening again!
I took 2nd place nonetheless.

Winning a tournament by 1 stroke on the last hole and only having to lay up under the basket for a 3 on a 30' putt to win. But choosing to go for it anyways and watching it hit 1'' low and roll 50' down a hill and behind a pine tree. Then having to lay up for a 4 and forcing a play off which I lost. I felt really smart!

I was in a tournament once and put my drive about 20 feet from the pin. Whipped out an Aviar for the routine deuce putt. I was just coming through to release when a gusty wind lifted the disc out of my hand and flipped it into the woods. I had to take a 5! It's embarassing because it was when I got paired up with Steve Brinster at a local Ice Bowl.
missing 1 foot putts in a tournament always makes me feel like a "winner". ive only done it a FEW times but embarassing none the less.

yeah... in the past have missed an ocasional 5-10 footer...you sure do feel like a winner. its always fun turning a 2 into a 4 after your putter rolls 50 feet away from the pin after a putt. (or a 3 into a 5)

I always think that hitting that tree two or three feet in front of me always sucks and is pretty embarassing! :p

Mr. Brower, I now need to see YOU in my office. :D
BTW, I've never had anything embarrassing happen to me on a disc golf course, so I really don't belong on this thread.

That just means that you have a VERY VERY high threshold for embarrassment.

I came up and started talking to you in front of your g/f at an event, and you were forced to acknowledge in front of her that you knew me. :o
You wanna rethink that last statement? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Although the handful or hundred dozen things I can recall firsthand are admittingly funny (e.g., Lucy Park), but possibly not "embarassing".

The very first weekend that Water Works in Kansas City was made permanent (April or May '98?) 4 of us played a casual round. Hole 8 has a downhill fairway and at the time had a relic of a small basketball court at the bottom...which, that day, was the gathering point for a birthday familia fiesta complete, with punch, cervezas, and a pinata. One guy drives his putter down the hill with a semi-fierce wind blowing left to right. You guessed it, the disc headed right for the party and hits the 8 year old birthday girl right in the chest. Because of the wind and the distance our attempts at yelling "FORE" were in vain...plus there was a language barrier. Talk about a long walk down that hill with a dead silent group of of about 40 folks (half adults, half children) watching us walk toward them. With not one word spoken by anyone he picked up his disc and played through. The birthday girl's father was steaming red...but somehow there was no confrontation. I believe I would have offered an apology...but that might have set them off. Just glad it wasn't me...
I let Tony Bender beat me on one hole by 3 strokes last Saturday. That was pretty embarrassing.
before a casual round, this guy named justin (sorry justin ;)) and i were playing catch with a regular frisbee. we had been playing for about ten minutes, and i threw one to him that made him take off running to catch it. he takes off, close to full speed trying to catch this frisbee, and forgot about his surroundings...just about the time he reaches to catch it, he runs right into a metal light pole with his face! I tried to yell at him, but he never heard it. He smacked the pole HARD and just laid on the ground for several minutes...once we knew he would survive, we all laughed our assses off!

Losing my temper is always embarrasing, espically later on when you have calmed down and realized how stoopid you acted. I've did it before and I'm sure I'll do it again. Hey, it's only a game, right?

Having to say that I know Mark Atwood and James Pellman on the same day :D
this weekend at la mirada hole 13 down hill shot with a tree you have to fly around to get to the basket.so anyways theres this family pinicing right under the tree cooking carne asada, you guessed it i hit the tree and my disc lands right on the grill.so when i get down there the lady hands me my disc upside down with a chunck of meet on it and say nice shot was that cool or what. :)

Gotta love LaMa !!! :D

In my first tourney in Stevens Point, WI, I was trying to shoot uphill and slipped on a patch of mud, falling and throwing the disc 50 or so feet behind me...everyone in my group felt bad and wished they could let me do it over....alas, doesn't work that way in tourneys...
At a casual round at Acorn in St. Paul, MN, I waded into a murky pond to find my disc, and was wearing a long skirt that day. Hiked it up a little too far when the water got deeper than I thought it would and gave everyone in the viewing radius a good look at my undies.
Both were pretty bad...hopefully I'll never have to update this post with something more embarrassing, LoL.
As we all know by now, I managed to successfully avoid the most embarrassing moment in disc golf history...
.....by a narrow 14 stroke margin. :D

unfortunately, I have failed to avoid the 2nd most embarassing moment... only twice out of about 15 attempts, i failed.... but the momory still haunts me. Twice, both in Waco, both with a bet riding on it... I lost to marsha hackwood :( :( :(

try to fart and draw mud...I did'nt do it...but I know who did :D
No underwear, ripped my shorts on the shrubbery I always seem to be playing through and had to finish the round with a flannel shirt tied around my waist.
