View Full Version : Fund Raising for the CDGA
Is the Calgary association a registered non-profit organization? If so, we need to get ourselves in the line-up to run a casino night. The waiting list is about two years, but we make 30-60 grand for one night's work when it comes around. Someone needs to look into this!
Wow. Great suggestion! The CDGA is currently NOT a registered not-for profit organization. We have loosly discussed this at some of the board meetings, but has not become a priority.
We'll bring it up again at our next board meeting.
Cheers,
Don
That is a grand idea, why not step up to the plate and offer your help in this matter. i have offered to look into raising funds for the cdga, giant task. i won't be able to fully commit to researching something like this till my semester is finished at the end of april. so the more help the better, contact me or visit the cdga website. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't we have a board member looking into this application?
I believe to qualify for a non-profit organization you need 3 years financials to present. That may pose a problem at this point.
We need to have financials for 2 years. I'll bring this up next time I'm out on Sunday.

this topic was discussed in short by ben, donny, and myself at the meeting last week. fund raising is a great idea but until our books are in order we are running idle. i think it would be grrrrrreat if we could lay down some plans for future cdga endeavors. they may sit on the backburner for a duration but we will certainly have a course of action to follow up on when the time comes. cheers kevin
