I believe it was an issue or 2 ago in the DGWN that an article appeared re: Poletimate. Bruce Hudson and company in Topeka, KS started an indoor game/league based on basketball with a twist of Ultimate. Ching Skillshots are used.
Here in Lawrence, KS (20 miles East of Topeks), we're going to start our own league very soon...already have a community gym reserved for Sunday evenings. The "official" disc is the Innova Sportdisc...those light little Rhyno-like ones...
I've not tried this game yet, but it looks fun, and working up a sweat sounds mighty good!
Third option on the poll, C. Never heard of it

The game looks hot!!I would love to play.
Our local club has been playing weekly since November. We have free access to a gym through one of our sponsors, and play pick-up games of 3 on 3 up to 5 on 5, depending on who shows up. After trying out a few golf discs, our disc of choice is the Aerobie Superdisc, which moves the game closer to ultimate.
The game as we play is like full-court basketball. Lots of running, passing, and trying to feed someone close to the basket. It is exhausting, but tons of fun.

When I was a kid, we always knew what we were having for dinner the day after we had mashed potatoes. Poletamates.
Sorry, isn't this the MRV thread? I meant potato cakes.

All shots are taken from behind the arc/3 point line...with a hand in your face! :o
^ That sounds like netball.
I've played a similar game on a soccer field (across) with an Ultimate disc, but we use lacrosse goals instead of baskets, so the emphasis is more on getting a lane than trying to hit someone near the goal. It's called foccer.

One of the cool things possible with 'poletemate' or 'basketdisc,' is the possibility of bank shots. Discs will bounce like hell off a wall. We've all seen it happen in disc golf with trees, sometimes to the advantage of the player.
If you play basketdisc (disc basketball with a portable pole hole played indoors on a basketball-sized course) and the gym is small enough, you can also get incredible billiard-like
bank shots off the walls.
I once took some discs into a racketball court and invented about eleven games in half an hour, but that's another story...
Basketdisc. Disketball. Disketching.
