Saban couldn't even deal with the pressure in Miami. The press for the Crimson Tide is much more critical. They will call for his head as soon as THE MIGHTY VOLS crush them this fall. The season is always considered a disappointment for the Tide if they don't beat both the Vols and War Eagles.

It sure was good to visit this past week and play the minis at Veterans and the Mighty Z! Though my master plan of taking one of the two ace pots failed, I was rewarded with getting to play with dear, old friends both rounds. Thanks for the hospitality, folks! The courses are looking good, too... :)

There were quite a few ADGA players last night at the Bear Creek mini. 55 players, 40 in open, 15 in AM. Nobody hit the ace pot, which is well into the 4 digit range, 6 digits if you use a decimal point. :D
Maybe the ADGA should cancel their Wed night mini next week and come out to GV so that an ADGAer can claim this POT!

At least my favorite song isn't called "It's raining men" Mr. Cox.
Covalt told me you both sing this while scrubbing each others backs in the shower....
<marquee>Hi - Hi! We're your Weather Girls - Ah-huh -
And have we got news for you - You better listen!
Get ready, all you lonely girls
and leave those umbrellas at home. - Alright! -
Humidity is rising - Barometer's getting low
According to all sources, the street's the place to go
Cause tonight for the first time
Just about half-past ten
For the first time in history
It's gonna start raining men.
It's Raining Men! Hallelujah! - It's Raining Men! Amen!
I'm gonna go out to run and let myself get
Absolutely soaking wet!
It's Raining Men! Hallelujah!
It's Raining Men! Every Specimen!
Tall, blonde, dark and lean
Rough and tough and strong and mean
God bless Mother Nature, she's a single woman too
She took off to heaven and she did what she had to do
She taught every angel to rearrange the sky
So that each and every woman could find her perfect guy
It's Raining Men! Hallelujah! - It's Raining Men! Amen!
It's Raining Men! Hallelujah!
It's Raining Men! Ame---------nnnn!
I feel stormy weather / Moving in about to begin
Hear the thunder / Don't you lose your head
Rip off the roof and stay in bed
God bless Mother Nature, she's a single woman too
She took off to heaven and she did what she had to do
She taught every angel to rearrange the sky
So that each and every woman could find her perfect guy

Just curious what you mean by "chilly"? My mom in Corpus Christi said that to me on the phone the other day, I asked her the same thing and she said "in the 50s" and I had to laugh. I know, it's all relative, just thought I'd ask, what's "chilly" in Arlington today?

You know, I had the most interesting talk on my way home from work today with someone posing as Mr C. But it did not take long for the jig (as Dave coined) to be up. It was easy enough to detemine that it was not Dave when the perp starting talking about how much better he handled crushes vs firebirds (and all students of Dave know that he feels that crushes are far better utilized as putters as opposed to drivers). So good try My "I wish I was as stately as Dave" Hero. Better luck next time. Keep in mind it is one thing to be the real Dave Covalt, and quite the other to have people drink the Koolaide and buy into you being him. p.s. I am pretty certain that was your wife with the tongue action, which explains why you were practically undressing as you were running out the door.

Here, here. I'll second that and add that I've always seen that Pep was a competitor, but now he's proven that he's also a winner. Taking down the Coda machine is no small feat much less anihalating the jiggly man who also played pretty steady.Congrats to you guys. Let's not forget that the host is also an ADGA member. Many kudos Brice.

On July 12, 2008 the City of Crowley will be hosting their Celebration of Freedom event at Bicentennial Park. There will be lots of food vendors, kids rides, wrestling matches, bands playing all day, and of course a disc golf tournament. The city has also spent over $10,000.00 for the fireworks display for that night. They guarantee that it will be the best Fireworks dispaly in Tarrant County.
Our regularly scheduled Saturday mini will be moved back to 1:00 p.m. due to me having to be in the parade. The format for this mini will be flip doubles. We will play red, white and blue tees. The City of Crowley is going to offer $150.00 added cash for this event. The top three teams will get some of this cash. There will be an $8.00 entry fee as usual and we will be playing for the ace pot as well.

This is to inform everyone that knew him that Clayton "Claydog" Brumit has left this earthly realm to play at the highest level. He passed this last weekend in his home peacefully. Claydog was instrumental in helping to revive a stagnant situation with our club a couple of years ago and was given a Lifetime Membership to the ADGA.

Totally a surprise. According to MyHero, the autopsy showed that he had a blood clot break free and lodge in his heart killing him instantly. When I walked in the house with the cops, we found him sitting on the couch, feet up on the coffee table, legs covered with a blanket, and the remote in his hand. It didn't look like he had time to even realize what was happening. Doctors agree that even if someone was in the hospital with nurses and doctors all around when it happens, they wouldn't be able to save him. Love ya, Dog

Clay Brumit - A message from his Family
We will be having two services, one in Texas and one in Tennessee. The memorial service in Texas will be this Saturday, 1/29 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church of Hurst, 521 W. Pipeline, Hurst, TX. We will receive friends following the service at the church. Back in Tennessee, we will be receiving friends Monday, 1/31 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport. We will have a service the following day, Tuesday, 2/1, 10 a.m. at Mafair United Methodist Chruch, 1409 E. Center Street, Kingsport followed immediately with burial at Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to one of three charitable organizations: Arlington Disc Golf Association, c/o Greg Browning, 807 Tanglewood Lane, Arlington, TX ; Mafair United Methodist Church, 1409 E. Center St., Kingsport, TN 37660; or, Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 East Market St. , Johnson City, TN 37601. We sincerely ask that, if you are so inclined, contributions to the above be made vs. flowers, especially in Texas, as we will be leaving Sunday morning. Again, we thank you all so much, we feel your love of Clay and us in every post, note, e-mail, text and phone call!

One thing Claydog did while he was running the club, was to get in touch by email with a British artist named Brian Exton. Clay had seen some of his work in a mag and wanted to use it on a disc. As a result the artist gave the okay asking only that we send him a couple of the discs, and Claydog did all the neccessary prep work to get this done for our Club Championships in 2007. There was a total of 100 printed. One of the best wall hangers ever.
