are there any jr only tournaments (i know of the jr worlds or whatever its called in ontario). many tournaments only have jr divisions if they can get 3 people, which makes sense. but are there any tournaments out there only for jrs, or that have a competitive/notable jr division? any that always fill?

Ellis....

I dont know where you are located but there is a Jr. Tournament July 14 at Geneseo Park in Geneseo Illinois which is right by Chicago....New Lenox Open in Joliet Illinois also usually has a good junior turn out.

The Gateway Disc Sports South Bend Amateur Championships (Saturday, August 16th) will host any and all am divisions that register .... this includes junior divisions.

As a rule, and the juniors who have played our events can testify to this, we take very good care of the junior players.

Register early. This event will fill.

Download the tournament flyer and registration form at: www.mdgc.org (http://www.mdgc.org)

Last year Gary Lewis ran a junior-only Illinois State Championships. It was very well attended. He may run it again this year. His e-mail is luckylouie@attbi.com.

There is a junior team tournament at Cass-Benton on June 14 or June 21. Send e-mail to michigan@pdga.com and I will look for contact e-mail for you.

If you are looking for a junior<13 boys group, we will probably have five or six at Flip City this weekend and again at the Gale Vaughn Memorial and the Cass Benton MDGO.

DISContinuum is happy to announce its third year of Junior leagues on Saturday mornings at Bevier Park in Waukegan this summer. It is a 10-week league going from the middle of June through August. We will have two experienced players running it; each week includes a mini-workshop before and/or after each week.
The focus is on skill and good sportsmanship, not just competition. Although we do not have time or manpower to put it into effect this year, we hope to incorporate the E.D.G.E. (Educational Disc Golf Experience) philosophy and strategy in future Junior leagues and workshops. That Des reading article rocked, didn't it?!
For more information, contact me at office@discontinuum.org or check our website for updates soon: http://discontinuum.org

Also, I remember reading about the Spinning Bees, another successful and larger kid-focused effort.

Jason is right.....

I play the tournaments in South Bend a lot in the Junior division and he treats the juniors better than a lot of other tournaments do.
