HUGE: What is the Island Web Page?
LEWISTON GOLFER: Sorry but I prefer NOT to travel many hours for a tournament without pre-regestration.
Also... I know the information should be posted at http://www.canamdiscgolf.org/ but the Toronto Island Tournemant is one of the few listed without information.
Thanks
I don't know for sure, but judging from past experience, my guess is that there is no information currently available. Paul is probably only taking registration onsite on Saturday morning, and will decide on the start time and entry fees the night before. I do know that there has been a series of fundraisers for this event and that as of a month ago $2000 had been raised. Also, although he is a procrastinator, Paul has always put on a good event at the Island. My plan is to take a ferry between 8:30 and 9:15, anticipating a start time of 9:30 to 10:30.
There's limited generic island info at
www.frisbeeguy.com (http://www.frisbeeguy.com) - Will post any details if someone gives 'em to me.
Howdy Eric, sorry I missed ya in Houston last year.
Wish I could make it up there - I miss the Island.
Peace - Alex
hey any one know the best way to get to Toronto from Columbus Ohio I'd like to take the shortest way (ferry, through Detroit, or through Buffalo)
Buffalo is definitely the fastest, takes at least an hour off of going through Detroit.
Alex, we hope to go to the VPO this year, so maybe we will see you there.
there isn't anything with a boat
Tony maybe I should bring my boat so we don't have to rely on the ferry/msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

Whats the policy regarding camping out on the island, if any?!
Thanx in advance...
as far as I know camping is illegal without a permit. Try Brian Hoeniger at PDGA HQ. He lives on the island and should know.
hey everyone... im in st. thomas ,,, and paul wont return my calls or emails too,,,, my weekend lodging has been paid for and still i dont know how much fees are going to be???? this is not very good for many golfers!!!
I'm just outside of Toronto and I know that are people planning on camping on the island ... I believe there has been a permit purchased for the tournament.
We haven't received any info locally either, but I can assure you, the feild will not be full and will be a wicked tournament ... it ALWAYS iS! As Eric mentioned ... they've raised around $2k for the tourney already.
Try e-mailing Kelly Muller at cooliepops@hotmail.com .... he may be able to help out with some information.
We'll see who's at VA Barrie in St. Thomas this weekend and try to get some details there.
will post any info I get.
Dustin
well, we just got notification of the final fundraiser for the TiO ... it's this Saturday on the island at 11:00 a.m., they've raised $2200 so far ... but still no tournament information.

The TIO is next weekend June 7th and 8th!
Its a locals only event. /msgboard/images/clipart/proud.gif
watch out for st.thomas!!!!!
It is on! I can give you some details, very few. The start will be around 11am on Saturday. There will be pre-registration on Friday. There have been several people talking about camping on the Island. Everyone will play 4 rounds.
There are not people walking around with masks on their faces. There is very little danger of getting SARS.
The Island is looking soooooooo good. Paul and Rob have pruned several trees to make it more fair and it is sooooo sweeeeet.
I had plans to go, but the lack of info cause me to skip. I did not know if it was still on. I had to plan something more for sure. Sorry
JB

I will have to hit one of those other CAN/AM events later.
PFDO is CAN/AM/msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
Im there debo /msgboard/images/clipart/proud.gif
camping probably won't happen ... I tried to get a permit yesterday and they wouldn't let me. I think Paul would have to get one for the entire tourney as a special event.
I can add a bit more info ... entry fees for MA1 and MA3 are $60 & $30 CDN; didnt ask about the rest.
do you know how much for advanced and pro?
here is what Paul sent me today
Hey all,
Last minute again and not a moment too late--despite SARS, west nile, and mad cow we are plunging full steam ahead with the tournament. I apologize for the tardiness in response.
Here are the numbers:
All pro divisions: $80 CDN $60 USD
All advanced divisions: $60 CDN $45 USD
All amateur divisions: $40 CDN $30 USD
Novices: $30 CDN $25 USD
There will be a modest player's package, a bunch of ctp prizes and stuff, five hole skins for the top pros ($100 CDN/hole), and an ace raffle for a chain star basket.
Anybody who has already emailed me will be on my list--please pass the word around if you can about the ton of openings we have left. Also, there is a $100(CDN) price rate at the Harbour Castle Westin right now, so if you want to treat yourself, go ahead.
We will aim for an early player's meeting on Sat--somewhere between 10:30 and 10:45 am, so please feel free to register on Friday, or come early on Sat. There will 4 rounds of 18 holes, and none of the pins will be changed. For the first round everyone plays from the short tees, so bring a little of your short game in your bag...
If there are any further questions or concerns, you can reach me on my cell @ 416.371.7181
Hope to see you here this weekend,
