How do you get invited to the Invitational?
Tom,
It says on their website that the first 72 people to register are "invited".
The course looks awesome! Do the Pro women get to play from the long tees? I vote yes!
Tom, You are always "invited"!! Come on over and play this course, you will not regret it!!
Addie, I think Doug said we are all going to play at least one round from the long tees including the ladies. Bring your "A" game cause this course will kick your [*****] if you do not play smart!!
Hope to see you guys there in June... Sign up now so you don't get left out.

We still have some Innova-Champion sponsorship discs available. They are Glow CE Eagles and Glow CE Banshees and can be purchased through Lynx Disc Golf Services at 888-596-9347.
They have no stamp except for the small Flying Eye stamp in the center and look pretty good, so you should give in to the urge building deep inside and call up and buy a couple!
We've had an anonymous sponsor step up with an offer to match all pro womens entry fees! So the pro women's division will pay out 200%! For more information go to http://www.athensdiscgolf.com
Also, the sponsorship discs from Innova-Champion are pretty sweet, anybody interested in Glow CE Eagles or Banshees call Lynx Disc Golf Services toll free 888-596-9347!
Doug,
What Pro women have signed up? And how full is it getting?
Thanks,
Addie
Right now we have Kimberly Neuman and Courtney Peavy in the pro womens division (And we have 1 am woman, although there are several more who have told me they might play).
We still have plenty of spots available in the tournament and anyone who gets their entry in the mail this week will have no problems getting in.

Congrats to the winners...Way to stay up there Dagon! Nice cash Jon Burpee/msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif Glad to see your playing Open. Come to Austin soon...
So is this everybody that played or just those that cashed? It seems like too many strokes from first to last to just be those that cashed.
I just read the snaplasctic.com update and it says that Cam and Leslie were going to this tournament after Augusta. I don't see there names did they not play?
Sorry, what that was was an inconsistent list. The pro list was every pro that _finished_ (we had 15 sign up, but only 9 of them made it all the way through). The am list was everyone who plastic-ed.
Cam and crew did register but didn't play.
The payout, since I didn't include it above, was
Brad Hammock $650.00
Jonathon Pierce $475.00
Dagon Owen $325.00
Sonny Ashby $225.00
Ryan Renz $125.00
What an awesome course! Challenges everywhere and danger at every corner. I had a great time despite the rain on Saturday morning and managed to play fairly decent. Kudos to the entire Flying Eye crew for all the course preparation and a well-run event. Although I had to endure the FL boys? continuous complaints about the difficulty of the course and the mediocrity of their game, it was a joy to play.
Now for the negative aspects. Shame, shame, shame Doug. I feel as though you've dealt a slap in the face especially to the masters division and to all the other pro players involved. According to your payout posting here, $600 was added to the MPO purse and an insulting paltry $80 was added to the MPM purse. That?s a mere 13% of the $600 added when the MPM field was 33% the size of the MPO field. Doesn?t seem right to me. As I read it, the tournament flyer enticed us all with a promise of "$1,000 Cash Added to Pro Purse!? Now since there were only 15 MPO players that actually participated and 5 MPM participants, it seems to me that the added cash should have been allocated proportionately. By my calculations, this would mean that $714 should have gone to the MPO, $238 should have gone to the MPM and the remaining $48 to the FPO. Of course, that's not taking into account any reneging on your part or whatever was added to the FPO field of one (Courtney: a most excellent thrower and a wonderful person) by the 'anonymous sponsor'. So tell me Doug, what happened there? Now granted, I didn't cash. So it doesn't really affect me in any way other than the insult to the MPM division as a whole and my sense of fair play(pay) for everyone involved. I would have played regardless of the lure of added cash, but when you advertise added cash, I feel you should deliver. That?s my 2 cents worth.

Doug,
Welcome to the wonderful world of tournament directing.
I once had a player complain to me because the free beer at the free players party wasn't the kind he liked. Another didn't like the free t-shirt we gave him.
Fun isn't it?
Hey Woodrow,
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked the course.
As for the masters payout, I didn't add $80, I added $0. I never said I would add to the masters and I'm sorry that you read it that way. I know that at least JT Rosenthal knew I wasn't adding any because he asked beforehand and I told him so.
I've always been a believer in adding all sponsorship and extra cash to the open purses, men's and women's.
I'm not sure what you mean about reneging on the paying 200% to the pro women thing, we had 1 pro woman sign up and we paid out twice the entry fee, which means we actually paid more than 200% to her because of her $80 entry $4 went straight to PDGA and park fees and $20 went to the (not yet delivered) trophy.
(Oh, or did you mean that if I did the payout based on ratios it wouldn't meet the 200%, in which case ignore the above paragraph)
Doug, no matter what you do, someone will complain.
Well Doug, I had a long thoughtful talk with Speedy about it and came to the conclusion that I'm definitely showing my rookieness. (I learned a lot about PDGA payouts). I had a great time playing and hated being a whiner when it was all said and done. Now that I know you didn't insult us(the pro masters) by adding $20, but only shunned us with nothing, I feel a lot better!!!!
Come on, they came all the way from Florida for our money and were almost half the field. Anyway, I've already commented on Courtney so I ignored the paragraph as you requested. But I'm glad you're a believer, Doug. It's good to have the 'Spirit of the Game' growing throughout the disc sport world.
Of course, my extensive experience in running PDGA tournaments should validate any comments I might have. So there!
Nobody cares about masters anyway!
So, Jeff. Your day will come my friend. Don't burn any bridges.
Mike Dammes takes 1st in Advanced??? What a bagger!!! I thought you were playing Pro now, what gives?? You need to give us other guys a chance ya know.
