View Full Version : Country Chevrolet Animalfest V - Warwick, NY - May 31 / June 1
The Animalfest V PDGA B-Tier event, sponsored by Country Chevrolet & Brakewell Steel, will be held on May 31 / June 1 in Warwick, NY. The format will be a round of 27 and a round of 18 both days, for a total of 90 holes. The highlight of this event will be the dedication of the new Wolfe Woods course in honor of Scott Wolfe, who passed away in February. Scott's family will be there to help us open the first 9 holes of the new 18-hole course for play. Applications and information are available at www.madisc.org. (http://www.madisc.org.) We hope to have a full field of 108 players so send in your pre-registration to insure a spot in this event just 50 miles from NYC.

The Three Stooges (Joe Mela(Larry), John Bradway(Moe), and Nick Kight(Curly)) will be heading up to Animalfest and really need a place to crash to save on travelling expenses. We are all house trained, well at least John and I are, and would be most thankful for a square of floor space.
Please contact me at nickkight@hotmail.com if your willing to put up with us for Saturday night.
Thanks,
Nick Kight

Where were you big fella? The other two "stooges" made it.
FYI, Mike Randolph won this incredible tournament yesterday by 1 stroke over Steve Brinster. Rachel Mansir won Pro women over Lesli Demark in a playoff. I can't remember who won Masters (maybe Ray Rogers?) or Advanced Men and Women. Hopefully someone can post that stuff.
Weather was a major factor (it rained buckets all weekend long) but there was some great golf and even greater people involved in making the tournament run as smoothly as it did. Thanks to Dan Doyle (and the support staff of Bill Newman, Jeff Mahler, Jeff LaGrassa and Jason Haas) for everything. If you told me that we'd have even more rain or hail or tornadoes or whatever next year I would still gladly send in my registration and look forward to it.
Ray Rodgers won the Open Masters Division, followed by Robin Billig. Alvin Ruff won Advanced, followed by Dave Greenberg. Christina Chapelsky won Advanced Women, followed by Amy Haas. And I guess not wanting to show off his own victory, Dan Howard won Intermediate (with a great final round) over Jason Webb by 1 stroke.
The full numbers should be posted in the next day or two.

Thanks to all for making Animalfest V a huge success despite ridiculously fugly weather conditions. (Friday was beautiful and it's gorgeous today...). 107 entrants and Scott Wolfe's family helped dedicate the new Wolfe Woods course Saturday morning in a moving ceremony. Thanks to Dave Jones for his singing and guitar playing. Unfortunately the monsoon Saturday nite flooded part of the new course, forcing us to scurry to come up with a few temporary holes. Mike Randolph played solid golf for 73 holes and then took a 7 on the 74th hole (#18 Amimal Blue-Blue), barely holding off Steve Brinster for a 1-stroke victory.....I need a breather. No work for a month. But behind-the-scenes we will be working on getting permanent tee pads on ALL tee pads. And we'll be considering designs for the finish of Wolfe Woods. Next big Warwick event is NY States on October 4 & 5 ,which is a PDGA A-Tier event.

Nice win OB-JO...Team MOJO representin'...
That is quite the distance for you isn't Mike? I thought the east coast was out of your range. How about a stop in NC before August. I am moving to Japan and would love to meet Team MOJO's highest rated player (for now) before I go. I would round up all the MOJO boys to come play...I got the shirts too! Email me your address and I'll see what I can do to hook you up if you aren't coming this way before August 1st.
Peace bro'...

Team Mojo Representin'
For some strange reason, I don't think I took a single OB stroke !?! First time this year, and won by one. Yeah Baby Yeah.
NY fit into a family oriented trip, and I know from experience that Warwick is a great tourney on a challenging course, which is good. Don't have any family(blood) in NC yet. Not sure when I'll finally get to hang with the gang. Hopefully some boyz can make it out to the mountains this summer?
Keepin' the Mojo Flowin'

When are you leaving Steve?
