Actually Monkey, The Mulligan Stew Tournament IS a ratings event, but alas, it is not a PDGA event.
It is how we kick off the tournament season here in Minnesota.

We will play only one round of 18 holes, but everyone can take one Mulligan (rethrow) per hole. Be careful how many Mulligans you use, the amount you take determines tie-breakers. Now you can see why it is NOT a PDGA event.

Everyone come out to have fun. The event is followed by the annual Spring Full MFA Membership meeting. Food, drink and prizes!!!

Is that a typo?...60 degrees? Geez, I better find my tanktops and sunscreen! Probably my mud galoshes, too!

Love to see the avs go down! Avs, Blues, and Redwings all gone. Was Shaq asleep last night, and Kobe 9 for 28. Peeler aint that good. Lakers attempted almost 20 more shots, and made 7 fewer.

Apr 23 2003, 07:08 PM
Ah, but Troy Hudson certainly was awake!! I still can't get over the Anaheim/Detroit series...wow!

Bring on the Canucks!!

Apr 24 2003, 02:59 PM
The Lakers have to at least make it look like they can lose!!
I don't see Minnesota winning a game in LA so it looks like you will get to watch Minnesota lose yet another playoff series at home.
I forget how many playoff series have u guys won??
:-)

Apr 24 2003, 03:01 PM
BTW, I actually played one of your frozen tundra courses a couple of times. Very interesting to skip off a frozen lake to pin a hole!
Very difficult to dry off your hand when there is no dirt around, just snow and ice!!

StudmanMark, Eat your post bro!!! Even the ABSOLUTE WORST CALLED GAME EVER IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS CAN'T HELP THE MINNEAPOLIS OR I MEAN LA LAKERS BEAT THE MINNESOTA T-WOLVES!!!!!! The refs were completely BENT!!!! David Stern or Vegas can't bring down the MVP!!!!!!!! KG got screwed like no other and did not whine, did not biatch, just pumped his bench players up to a victory over the Late(as in Dead) show!!!!!

Apr 25 2003, 01:54 PM
I will indeed shut it, thanks for keeping me honest. :-)

Apr 25 2003, 03:02 PM
Come on now, Timmy. The Lakers were whooped and then broke the t-wolves mentally. Complete melt-down and loss of composure. Especially your euro. When the chips are down and the elbows are flying, the euros usually fade anyway.

Unfortunately the Lakers were just plain ole SUCKING so bad themselves that they couldn't even take the game from their broken, stumbling opponent. Please stop with the "not even the refs could stop us" stuff! You know your guys caved after having the game completely in hand. /clipart/wink.gif

I have to say I am really worried about my Lakers chances of getting out of this series, let alone getting the four-peat. Last night was the kind game that gets them on that unstoppable roll....if they finish it. Not finishing after playing like crap and then making the amazing comeback is not a good sign for the Lake-show. /msgboard/images/clipart/sad.gif

Apr 25 2003, 03:41 PM
I would like to see the Lakers do it, but they don't look to enthusiastic, and who can blame them after 3 titles. I don't see how they can get a break by KG fouling out, and lose to a bunch of guys that at best would be on the 2nd team. Shaq looks like the loss of his grandfather and the birth of his child has him preoccupied. The Lakers shot only 36% and still tied, and sent it to overtime. That does still leave a light on in the tunnel, and the fact that it is a 7 game series, still means anything can happen. One thing is the T-wolves are not going to fold. The Lakers are going to have to bump it back up to the level they started with to beat them. If someone will step up and score, other than Kobe or Shaq, then the Lakers are almost unbeatable. If you look through most of their wins this season you would see that when 4 players scored in double figures, the Lakers were almost unbeatable.

Apr 25 2003, 04:23 PM
The Lakers have the best refs money can buy.

Tonight....The Wild beat the Cunucks!!!

Timmy i must say that your and you counter parts are doing a stellar job on promoting the sport. Not only do you recieve a basket for 1st in (Ams), but you also have the opportunity to play one of the best wide open courses out there! Minnesota you picking up what i'm putting down? I'm confused, did Critter shoot 209 or did Sprague get second? I've been known to make a few oversights before so please help me on this one. BTW, congrats on a couple good wins to start the season of the north.

Jun 04 2003, 03:23 AM
You are confused Clue! oh wait I see the mistake - some of the scores are wrong (your probably still confused though /msgboard/images/clipart/proud.gif )
I shot
1)57 (par)
2)53
3)51
4)53 (boring bogey free)
Total= 214
Critter shot 210
Timmy shot 206

The orchard played great this year! It's the kind of course you have to learn, and even if you do learn it you still have to have lady luck on your side. I threw several nice drives within 40ft, and walked away with a lay up - tap in 3. Those little apple trees can make you scramble for a good shot!!

Congrats to Timmy!!! He putted great and managed to stay out of trouble for most of the weekend. He separated himself enough that he was able to sleep walk thru the final round.

Very well run tournament - Tons of fun - and a better layout for the course this year. Can't wait for next YEAR!!

Look out though - I know how to play the course now and I'm hungry to give you a run (no more shooting even par the first round!!)

And I got to play with Dave Sunde for the first time, and can't say enough good things!! Dave was positive energy the whole way!!!!! Thanks for 3 great rounds of golf Dave!!!

This weekend is the Riverside Open in St Cloud MN. Riverside is a great course and the fellas up in Cloud, Adam Gorres and Greg Stein have mustered up close to $2000 added cash!!!! Way to go guys! This B tier is going to be great. 2 rounds of 24 on Sat, 1 rd of 18 on Sunday morn and a huge final 9. Can't wait,

Of course Sprague. Always welcome at my place. The more the merrier!! I have a lot of room and usually have some folks stay for the Majestic. You're first in line now.

If anyone has seen Kaposia in the past..and we all know how great of a course it is...well, it's BETTER!! Huge improvements were made, holes added and the overall beauty of the course has increased ten-fold. The biggest amount of thanks goes out to those who made this happen!

You CANNOT miss this tourney. Can't afford not to....Test your game. Test your endurance.

Theo, I wasn't complaining, just surprised. You realize that you have spoiled us, right?
Keep up the great work. Thanks for all you and your staff does.

He better do something cuz at this rate he won't even cash.

What's with the same low turnout as last week?

Top 15 are world class players. Not much cash left for the rest.

Okay, it looks like another tie after the final-9. There needs to be a way to show who won via the live scoring.

Also, the full results don't show totals so I can't even guess why the final-9 only has 3 players for the men. Anybody have any info on that?

Apparently something is currently a problem with the PDGA Tour site scores table.

Ron Russell wins the Minnesota Majestic by one over Dave Feldberg and Stevie Rico, taking home $1670 for first. Steve and Dave split $1700 for their 2nd place tie. Barry finished 4th for $560.

Rico started the Final 9 in 4th and shot a record 30 on the 6085' layout to climb into 2nd. Russell and Feldberg shoot 33 and Barry 40. Dave's 25' putt on the second last hole turned vertical in the chains and slipped out the back. That moved Ron back into the lead going into the final 1065' hole... which everyone 4'd to seal Ron's victory.

Des Reading wins followed by Lesli Herndon and Ruth Steele who all played the same Final 9 in the group with the men. The Women Open scores are correct in the Live Scoring link at http://www.PDGATour.com

Sounds like it was an awesome final-9!

It's been the closest Open battle we've had for years. However, playing in a 7-some with the Women was not as much fun for all competitors in such a long Final 9 on a hot, sunny day. A layout like this has been a tradition for years and has worked fine, even in the typical rain, for a group of Open Men. But it took too long for a group of 7 (which was recommended based on NT experience so far this year). Maybe more than one Par 2 hole in it next year?

Five Peek will be doing a video/DVD of the event like last year if you want to check it out.

My only recommendation is that if we insist on a final-9 for a 5 person division, then we should make the final 9 a single fivesome made up of the top 3 men and top 2 women.

I'm not trying to be mean or unsupportive, but come on. 60% of the FPO field made the final-9!

How long did that final-9 take?

I think it was about 3 hours, almost as long as the regular round of 24 on the 9000' layout. And, they were only paying two women. So, unknown to the players, the "hat" was passed during the Finals and contributions were collected to pay whoever ended up as the 3rd place woman battling out there. Ruth received $135. How about that feather for our family of disc golfers?

On the A-tier side, North Valley regular, Peter Middlecamp won Advanced followed by Chris "Gateway" Schmidt. Local Dan Richardson won Advanced Master followed (I believe) by Dale (from KC area). Up and comer, Brita Lindgren (Duluth) won Advanced Women followed by local Shannon Duren. MFA and PDGA veteran, Jumpin' Joe Feidt, won Grandmaster Pro by two over me in a fun seesaw battle all weekend. We missed you Duster in our big 8 MPG field. Best weather at the Majestic in years.
