View Full Version : 8th Annual Farm Life Open

Mar 03 2003, 11:20 PM
I just want to inform everyone that this years Farm Life Open will be sanctioned. It was not sanctioned the last 2 years, but it will be a C-Tier event this year. The date is June 7-8.
I'll post more info as it becomes available.

Chris Hysell
Mar 04 2003, 08:58 AM
This will explain a recent email. Jody, that date is the same as the Battlefield Open in Richmond.

Mar 04 2003, 11:51 AM
I know that.

Mar 05 2003, 09:34 AM
next question then- do you know how far it is from richmond to williamston?

which leads to the question- has anyone read their sanctioning agreement?

Mar 05 2003, 11:24 AM
john- from richmond to williamston it would take about 2 hrs.

Mar 05 2003, 11:49 AM
It is 165 miles from Williamston to Richmond. If it is such a big problem you should contact the TD(Kent Roberson 252-792-3196). He said he was going to talk to the state coordinator to see about getting it sanctioned, and it is now sanctioned so I guess he got the OK. I don't see what the big deal is, there were only like 10-12 guys from NC in the battlefield open last year out of 79 people.

Mar 05 2003, 06:49 PM
is the farm life course golf cart accessible??

Mar 06 2003, 10:21 AM
Sure! one or two of the holes. And the clubhouse/lake region.

Mar 06 2003, 11:45 AM
Yeah you can make it through with a cart. In some places you have to take an alternate route, but it can be done. Rock Williams takes his there all the time.

Mar 06 2003, 06:30 PM
I held a tournament in Jacksonville NC last year on the same weekend as the coolbreeze classic in Suffolk, Va. Nobody complained at all as far as I know.
And Besides, Has the Battlefield been sanctioned yet. It says "no" on the pdga tour site. I didnt see The Farm Life Open on there either?

Mar 06 2003, 09:46 PM
Hey Scott hows it going man. I had fun down in Jacksonville the other week, and both of the courses were cool. Farm Life is not on the list yet, but I know Kent has paid the sanctioning fees and such, so its a go if nothing changes. Be sure to spread the word to the Jacksonville crowd, but I know most of them will come whether its sanctioned or not. Take it easy

Chris Hysell
Mar 07 2003, 08:25 AM
My biggest concern about the whole sanctioning thing is not that the rules were bypassed or the fact that I wasn't asked for my opinion. My concern is that it is on the same weekend as the Battlefield and I can only play in one of the two events. If it was scheduled for a weekend where there wasn't a tournament going on, I would probably go.

Mar 07 2003, 10:03 AM
I have to agree with Chris. I don't want to have to make a choice between 2 events that are both about 2 hours from Raleigh.

Mar 07 2003, 12:01 PM
I agree with you guys on that, and I would prefer that it would be on a different weekend too. I can talk to Kent and see what he says, but his tournament has been on that weekend for the last 7 years. I was told that the Big Valley Challenge changed their posted date, is there any truth to that? If so maybe he could move it up a week. If not, I don't know what he'll do. Its hard to find a weekend that doesn't conflict with something else, there is alot of golf going on around here. If you guys have any suggestions, let me know and I will pass it on.

Chris Hysell
Mar 07 2003, 12:21 PM
Why did the BVC move from March anyway?

oakhollowdgc
Mar 07 2003, 01:25 PM
why don't we just rent the concorde for the weekend and we can all play both tourneys on the same day...

Chris Hysell
Mar 07 2003, 01:58 PM
SuperD, are you on something?

Mar 07 2003, 05:10 PM
He's on the boards talking to you....dang man get it together!!! Are you on something?

Mar 17 2003, 03:19 PM
Glad to see farm life is back on the sanctioned list this year. That is another sanctioned event in North Carolina east of I-95. That makes 4 for 2003 maybe 5 if we get one going in Kinston. There were only 2 last year and 1 the year before that. Disc Golf down east is on the rise.

oakhollowdgc
Mar 17 2003, 05:12 PM
sorry hysell, i was trying to find an irrational solution to the problem. alas, the concorde is booked for that weekend anyway. boo hoo [/msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif]

Mar 22 2003, 09:34 AM
Rob,
Make sure you keep your clothes on when you jump in this time.

Apr 08 2003, 12:23 AM
All right yall its time to drop the bombs on this thread. It is time to get fired up about Farm Life. What a great course, great camping, great hospitallity by Kent & Co. And it is gonna be sanctioned this year. You better not miss this one folks, its gonna be a blasts. Let the good times roll.

flicknandkickn
Apr 08 2003, 12:48 AM
If you want to play a laid back, relaxed, have a good time tourney, this the one.

Apr 08 2003, 04:18 PM
Jeremy Lee,
You gonna let Bobby beat you this year, and allow another putt to land on top of the basket?

Apr 08 2003, 06:24 PM
Bobby might beat Jeremy, but I'm gonna pull a Nate and get my first win at home.

Apr 08 2003, 10:20 PM
Nate needs to go Pro

Kid blew it up at Castle Hayne!

Apr 08 2003, 11:48 PM
nate needs to do whatever HE thinks is right. I heard that he is trying to play in the AM worlds, so what good is playing for cash that he can't accept.

Apr 09 2003, 12:02 AM
I agree somewhat with nate. Yeah so he was on fire at the castle. The guy really just got his # and this is really his first year of playing events regularly. Playing Ams is fun and no one should be denied at least a full year of playing am events and playing am worlds. If Nate is still playing ams at this time next year (even if he doesnt get to go to am worlds in KC)then we may be able to get on his case about it. He wasnt the only am who did nice work at the castle. But I tell you what the ams who did do well at the castle all had one thing in common. They were locals there.
Enough about the castle. How will Mr. Nate do at the Farm. Come on Nate bring that hot game to Farm Life. And bring your camping gear too.
A local claims he wants his first win on his home course is anyone gonna step up and challenge the man.

Apr 09 2003, 12:23 AM
Thank you Scott I feel like I have been getting so much heat for playing well at my HOME course. I mean I can not tell you how many times I have been called a bagger in the past two days. That place is a bi#ch and playing it all the time does help a lot. That is what I was trying to say to J. Lee on the Castle Hayne thread. It is the biggest home court advantage in the state. I am a realist because there is no way I am that many strokes better than he is, he beats my a#s when we play at his park. I enjoy all the attention, but really it is the course and the time spent on it more the than skill. I will be at the farm (if I can) most likely and will do what I do at every event I play in. Do my best to play within myself and not make dumb mistakes.

Apr 09 2003, 07:56 AM
Nate and Others,

This was your first PDGA win. There is no reason for you to consider going Pro at this point. I am going to assume that most of those that have called you a bagger are just giving you a hard time.

If you start winning consistently (4 or 5 wins in the next 6 months) then you might want to consider playing Open in C-Tier events. Playing Open will help you improve your game. If you do that in C-Tier events your entry fees will be lower and if you finish in the cash you will not be giving up as much to retain your Am status to go to Am Worlds.

Kirk

Apr 09 2003, 09:45 AM
Nate-

Sorry if you took my post as a negative. I dont think your a bagger at all! Take your time , when your ready to move up do so. Have fun with it. Hope to see on the course!

Apr 09 2003, 11:35 AM
J'ville will be playing the Farm for sure.. As far as the local who didnt post his name. We hyped up the Castle Thread & it was all in good fun. Why are you not showing your name???? Nate B, myself, & just about anyone I play w/regularly are gonna bring it anywhere we go on the "advanced am" level & thats not bagging. I was the 1st loser last year so im hungry myself for this one ~worm~

Apr 09 2003, 11:47 AM
That would be me. I am going for the back 2 back like Bobby did. Won ams last year, going for adv this year

Apr 09 2003, 11:51 AM
Its all good Jody, I figured it was you or Roberty W. Thats your home course, & its been proven that locals most always play well at home. The farm isnt the Castle but its definately still a challenging course so everyone needs to bring their best game. We will see what happens in June.. lets hype this thread up

Apr 09 2003, 02:56 PM
I'm taking a dip in the blue pond. No Matter what division I play in.

Apr 09 2003, 03:07 PM
Rob Leder, were already on to your mystery man names here. GO AM!!!

Apr 09 2003, 06:17 PM
I would love to pull my first adv. win at home, but I don't have that home course advantage like Nate. All of you guys have played there many times, and if I had to put my money on someone it would be you(Jeremy). you always play well at the farm.

Apr 09 2003, 09:56 PM
I like Bobbys chances myself. He is left handed remember. Anyone with tourny info aka tee times, cost, any players packages?

Apr 09 2003, 10:31 PM
I'll check with Kent and see what he has planned.

Apr 09 2003, 10:45 PM
Remember Scott, this event is sanctioned. Theres definately gonna be a bigger turn out than last year & that means a higher level of competition. Im not scared. Jody, thanks for the vote of confidence,im still not underestimating you or anyone at this course though. Im really only going for the night life at the barn

Golfers Against Citranella Candles

Apr 10 2003, 09:24 AM
RUSTY, mosquitos will never enter my tent after your drunken episode in 2001 w/ the citranella candle

Apr 10 2003, 05:33 PM
is rusty gonna play open?

Apr 14 2003, 03:44 PM
Jody, Did Kent give you any info yet?

Apr 14 2003, 04:38 PM
Rusty has already won as an am and advanced. My next endeavor is to win open.

Apr 14 2003, 11:20 PM
And your 2003 Farm Life Open Champion is...... RUSTY.

Apr 14 2003, 11:44 PM
Scott,
Not yet. I talked to him today, and he is still undecided about all the details. Entry fees are probably gonna be about 20-25 for am/adv and I think 40 for Pro. He is still debating about players packages too. The hardest thing about the entry fees is that alot of the locals might shy away if they are too high, because most of them are not PDGA members. There is also a possibility that the course may be alittle different than what everyone is used to. (In a good way) Later

Apr 15 2003, 03:37 PM
Is the course gonna get a face lift? Uh oh watch out. I wanna redesign Jville course. keep me informed on how that works out.

Apr 15 2003, 09:11 PM
redesign J-ville? What the hell are you talking about? By the way me thinks that there will be some port city representation wed night Scott so have your boys ready.

Apr 15 2003, 10:30 PM
Nah not a facelift. Kent is thinking about adding a few extra holes for the tournament.

Apr 16 2003, 07:50 AM
whats up Mate?? Are you bringing a challenge to the creek for me tonight in doubles? As you know, I carried Kev D in my bag last week & thats not normal. Scott, I wont put it like Nate but I think the current layout is fine ~

Apr 16 2003, 08:25 AM
I believe that PCP will be out numbering OFDA tonight (DP, Land, Weaks, Sloan, Josh, Christian, and myself). So if your boys can get there on time we might have a match.

Apr 16 2003, 08:46 AM
theres gonna be a showdown. bring em all. looking fwd to it

Apr 16 2003, 09:01 AM
.and if you don't know

Apr 16 2003, 09:08 AM
what time is doubles?

Apr 16 2003, 09:16 AM
Will, starts at 6. hope to see ya there

Apr 16 2003, 09:19 AM
I thought this was the farm life thread???? Jody, when you get more info on this new layout, post it for us. Or is Kent only changing it for the event? I'd like to come play again soon before the tourney

MTL21676
Apr 16 2003, 10:12 AM
when do yall do doubles at farm life.....as in what night of the week?

Apr 16 2003, 12:01 PM
We don't do doubles at FL /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

Worm,
The new holes will only be for the tournament. I'm not sure if he is putting them in yet, but if he does they will be in the field to the left of Hole #2. Possibly 3 holes. The first one will tee off after hole 2, throwing back into the field toward Kent's house. Then from there, probably along the dirt path. And the third one would play back to the gazeebo, so you can go on to hole 3. Basically just 3 crush holes, so bring your drivers.

MTL21676
Apr 16 2003, 12:07 PM
Well what were will and worm talking about...they said something about doubles at 6....

Apr 16 2003, 12:26 PM
doubles at Jacksonville Wed at 6pm

Apr 16 2003, 12:38 PM
this thread seemed to stray toward the PCP - OFDA rivalry again. sorry for the confusion on doubles at 6. To my fellas down south in the port city or at home, anyone feel like playing farm life this wknd?

Apr 16 2003, 12:42 PM
I know it will be Easter But I will play Sun.

Apr 16 2003, 02:41 PM
Worm, you need to be at home with the family on Easter!!!!!

Apr 16 2003, 09:37 PM
..Now you know!

Apr 17 2003, 08:42 AM
-10...not bad for out of towners J-DOG & Scott C. you set that reply up nicely from "if you dont know". You must have seen yourself winning. Hope you guys can make it every Wed. Anybody else want to play the farm this wknd besides Knapp??

Apr 17 2003, 09:31 AM
Thanks Big Perm.. I mean Big Worm.

A message to all Farm Life golfers. The Coastal Plains Bag Tags went on sale today. $10.00 I sold the first 15 a doubles today. I will try to bring some out to the three rivers event in GVagas this weekend.

Apr 24 2003, 12:22 AM
Sweet Scott. I'll definately get one. BTW, have you turned in the tournament info for the Coastal Plains Winter Open? I just noticed the newest results and points info for this year, and that is not included. Hey and about the bag tags, can you email me with all the details about the tags?

Apr 24 2003, 09:31 AM
Are the bag tags still only welcome to golfers East of 95?

Apr 24 2003, 10:24 AM
Hey Scott, I think you should include Rusty in our bag tag challenge, im not skeered of him taking mine.. TIN ROOF!!!!

Apr 24 2003, 03:35 PM
As of now the bag tags are still only for golfers East of 95. I will talk to Moe, we are still discusing this. I hope I dont upset anyone with this east of 95 stuff. I am only trying to help disc golf grow down east. I really appreciate the support from the Charlotte, High Point, and Raleigh Golfers give when I have my sanctioned events. But at the same time I dont want the down east golfers to get discourage because all the guys from the peidmont are taking the low tags. But at the same time I dont want to exclude anyone. Like I said earlier me and Moe will descuss it, but in the meantime it will just be East of 95.

Apr 24 2003, 04:02 PM
Jody, I did turn in my results less than two weeks after the event. I dont know why they are not up yet. The only thing I can figure ist that I didnt turn them in electronically because my computer doesnt have MS excel. But I paid a 425 fee because of it so I feel as though mine should be up there to. I will email somebody and find out.

Apr 24 2003, 04:04 PM
oops that 4 in front of the 25 is supposed to be a $. I paid a $25 fee I meant to say.

Apr 24 2003, 04:31 PM
Hey Scott...
Has Moe told you about you guys' inclusion in TEAM MOJO yet...She is MO Nappy, and you are JO Nappy...that is, if you choose to accept?!? Moe has already given us the approval on her end, but I need your confirmation before it will be official.

TO keep on thread...Does this course rock, or is the party what everyone comes for?...either way, I will probably show up...Just wondering.

Apr 24 2003, 04:44 PM
BS--

Sorry to drift from the thread, but any word on those kick arse shirts???

-m

Apr 24 2003, 09:42 PM
The course is not the greatest in the world. Be prepared to throw a bunch of straight shots less than 280'. I think that most people go for the down east feel, and there is usually a good time involved for all those that camp.

Apr 24 2003, 11:27 PM
BS, I will always accept those who accept me. Although I will probably be the DFL amoung Team Mojo members because of my tennis elbow and poor mental game, but my love for this game is exceeded by few. Is there any other TDs in team MoJo or am I the first? I heard about the kick arse shirts . Now you know I am a big dude, so make sure mine is XXL.
Back to the the thread. I think it is amoung the best combinations of course/atmosphere you can find. I know that us down east golfers have a party reputation. But this event is a feel good tournament that any one can enjoy.

Apr 25 2003, 05:01 PM
ALL I needed to hear bro...
I'll see everyone there!

The shirts are about to be in production...BP and his boys are finishing up the design, and it is sweet. I'll try to get a link up to it right now so everyone can see them. No white shirts...And I got your back on the XXL Scott; and your front for that matter.

May 20 2003, 11:00 AM
So far so good for Big Perm. J'vill lockin down the barn spot like every year. I will be riding up w/Eric Morton. PCP??? anyone???

May 20 2003, 11:52 AM
Everyone bring it on, and bring a friend. I want to see atleast 60 players there. For anyone that is interested the estimated course lengths for the tourny are as follows.

Sat. - 5522 ft.
Sun. - 3871 ft.

The length most people are familiar with is 4136 ft., so those long placements should make about
5-6 difference in the scores. I'll see you guys in about 3 weeks. Peace

May 20 2003, 12:10 PM
I may play some golf this saturday Jody will anyone be around in Williamston. Im not definate yet but I'd like to play this new layout. Whats the footage on those 3 extended holes anyway since the change?

May 20 2003, 01:45 PM
This is the 1 tournament that I will NEVER miss again. So I WILL be there. I WILL play open, and I WILL jump into the pond, and I WILL have a lot of fun.

May 20 2003, 03:25 PM
Alright so we got Worm, Erica, Rusty and Leonardo. Who else?

May 20 2003, 06:21 PM
There should definately be some people out there on Saturday. Usually me and Robert and 1 0r 2 others play atleast 1 round on Sat. afternoons. I have to work until 1pm. Then I'll probably be out there around 1:30-2:00. Kent hasn't measured the holes yet, but I'd estimate hole #1 to be about 375ft. Hole #2 atleast 600 ft. maybe 650. Hole #3 has to be atleast 850-900 ft., both times I have played 3, I have taken a 4 & 5(w/OB Stroke). Its not really possible to get better than 4 unless you hit a 200 ft. putt.

flicknandkickn
May 20 2003, 09:23 PM
Jody, will #1,2,3 tee from orig. tee or in the field? I am trying to play Wed.(tom.)morning, wondering if I can test it out. Later

May 20 2003, 11:31 PM
Hole 1 tees from the orginal tee. Hole 2 tees from near the pine trees surrounding orignal 2 basket, and plays out into the field. Hole 3 tees from out near the dirt path that you come in on, and plays back to the original 3 basket.

flicknandkickn
May 21 2003, 03:33 PM
Just flew back from Farm Life and boy are my arms tired!HA! It's been too long since I last played there. First 3 holes are sweet and loooong. #3 is a country mile and the basket looks nice from the tee, framed by the trees. If it's windy, oh my! Since the 8th annual could be the only chance to play them, I have to make it! I'll see... course looks superb as always.

Jun 02 2003, 11:50 PM
Hey guys lets get this thread rolling. We only have 4 more days til the 8th FL Open. The new long layout is pretty tough. I have been playing like crap lately, but the best I've shot so far is a 59, and that was today. If you are playing this weekend, post on this thread. Lets keep it active so no one forgets about it. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

Melissa and Stevenson played there yesterday and she told me the new holes were cool. I am so jealous of everyone who gets to play. I want to go so bad. Will PCP be there? Worm what division you gonna play? I'll bet it depends on Nate.

Jun 03 2003, 04:02 PM
Scott, this is my last year in advanced, Nate playing Open has no factor in that either. I;ll let Rusty & him go at it this year. Nate & I have competed enough the last 3yrs against each other. He surpassed me this year. After Farm Life im officialy going into donator status ***(all pro's watch out when I find my putt though)

Jun 04 2003, 09:01 AM
i'll only be 26 beatch... and i want to hear some whiners calling me a bagger for a little while. i hear it around nate a lot and it sounds like fun

Jun 04 2003, 09:43 AM

Jun 04 2003, 01:35 PM
Whats up guys, anyone know how many Raleigh boys are coming down for the tournament? I know Jacksonville will be in da house, and some guys from PCP, but I haven't heard anything from the capital.

Jun 04 2003, 01:44 PM
jody, rest assured knowing that CCP will be there

Jun 04 2003, 09:09 PM
I think most of the raleigh guys are going to asheville. It $ux that there are actually three tournaments for this weekend if you count richmond, va.

MTL21676
Jun 04 2003, 09:26 PM
ill be traveling from Raleigh....but most everyone I've talked to is going to ashville or richmond.....i know that me and Jeff yahn are coming though

Jun 04 2003, 10:13 PM
jeff who?

Jun 04 2003, 11:37 PM
I agree Scott, that does kinda [*****], but it's also good in a way. If disc golf has grown enough in our area that we have 3 tournaments to choose from for the same weekend, I think thats great for the sport. I hear Asheville is a really awesome course, so I can't blame people for going there. Hell I know there are some guys from Virginia coming to Farm Life instead of Richmond, so hopefully all 3 tournys will have pretty good sized fields, then we know disc golf is on the way up.

Jun 04 2003, 11:38 PM
dammn you can't even say succkk on this board, WTF

Jun 05 2003, 02:23 PM
Thought you knew this $#iite is G-rated Jody.. The days are closing in until im at the Farm w/ all (most, sorry Scott K) my good friends. Im superstoked.. Rusty, you ready to throw down???

Chris Hysell
Jun 05 2003, 04:17 PM
I'm getting only a few calls from Va. Just the usual suspects. Most are from NC with a few from Tenn, SC and MD. I think everything will be fine.

flicknandkickn
Jun 05 2003, 04:17 PM
Yes! It is on at Farm Life! BTW, Asheville is a phat course and will take it's toll -uphill,downhill, repeat 18 times. At Farm Life, we just have to fight off swarms of mosquitoes and those @#$%^&* deerflies...SKEET 'EM!

Jun 05 2003, 10:48 PM
The deer flies haven't been too bad so far this year, but the skeeters are kinda thick in some places. Just be sure to bring your bug spray, and they won't bother you too bad. Anyone who is still undecided, come on out it'll be a fun time guaranteed. Looks like we'll have alot of CTPs, ring of fire, night golf if enough people are interested. Oh and the longest & shortest layouts ever at Farm Life. 5,740ft. & 3882ft. A good score on the new long layout seems to be running around 54-59. The short layout has not been played yet. The course is in great shape, and is ready to be trounced by alot of golfers.

Jun 05 2003, 11:17 PM
Jody, Do you think It would be cool with Ken and everybody if I had someone from J'ville get everyone together w/ a CP tag for a tag round on the final round. We need to talk Ken and Perry into Buying a tag.

Jun 05 2003, 11:22 PM
looking forward to the weekend.......anyone wanna play around 4 before doubles?

Jun 06 2003, 09:15 AM
I can already smell the citranella candle... oh wait, that's Worm's tent.

Jun 06 2003, 09:21 AM
bas-turd. every time I open my tent I smell it.. thats ok, its 100% skeeter proof

Jun 06 2003, 03:08 PM
Jody, are you gonna post scores on this thread friday night and saturday night?

Jun 06 2003, 03:47 PM
nc is in the house

ha!

Jun 06 2003, 10:15 PM
No but I will post them Sat. night and Sunday night /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif. I don't see any need to post the scores from friday doubles /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

Jun 06 2003, 10:17 PM
oh, BTW, I think Nate and whoever his partner was, won the doubles with a 50. That should let you know how tough the course is playing, considering on the original course, the doubles winner would be around 44.

Jun 07 2003, 01:02 AM
Oops, my bad Jody. That is what I ment to put. Sat and Sun. Duh.

Jun 07 2003, 07:13 PM
Well the first day is over and the damage has been done, but it was still fun. There was alittle bit of wind, and it rained for about half of the first round. Other than that everything was pretty smooth. Here is a link to the results.

had a great time at this tournament, definitely coming back next year. shot good 2 out of 4 rounds, but did accomplish my original goal... i was the most f#cked up person there. got some weiser/evan scars from saturday night. worm, sorry about the head and chest... i'm dangerous.

jody, wish we have got those back to back aces on 16/17, oh well.

Jun 09 2003, 12:30 AM
And Its official, North Carolinas Newest Advanced Amateur is Josh Bohlen. Way to go Josh. Congrats to all the winners, Rusty with his first cash and first open win.
All apologies to Bert Williams. I totally forgot to send the tags up with Moe.

Jun 09 2003, 12:45 AM
yeah I hear ya jefferson. that woulda been sweet. I had a great time this weekend. Playing with Jeff and Worm is a trip, they always keep things interesting. I stayed in the lead group all weekend, WTF. Hopefully I learned something playing 4 rounds with Nate and Worm, and 3 with Jeff. At the very least I know Nate is one puttin mofo, and worm doesn't take to well to bogies, and jeff is mental. I had a blast maybe we can run that lead group again in Zebulon.

Jun 09 2003, 01:30 AM

Waddup fellas? Had a great time this wknd in light of my play on Sunday (& your right Jody, bogeys & I dont get along) especially one after another.. but thats "tree love" remember???? I played w/an excellent group all wknd w/Jody, Shooter, & Bond. Thanks for dealing w/my going from 1st to 5th frustration performance. Im cooling off for a couple weeks. See ya when I see ya. Shooter, as usual its a pleasure getting sloppy w/ya. The only guy I know who can drink a case of beer & bottle of Evan & still drop a 49.. Impressive. Im out

Sincerely - Jeremy Leonard

Rob Leder-----Official Donator of the PDGA

Jun 09 2003, 08:40 AM

Jun 09 2003, 03:25 PM
Ain't no thang Scott, perhaps Zebulon. Moe, great comeback! Nate, great shootin'- must be something in the Wilmington water. Thanks to Kent and his family for hosting a first class weekend. That Saturday layout at Farm Life is a CLASSIC! Good to see everyone...Peace

Jun 09 2003, 03:29 PM
Congrats to Rob Leder on his first of many Open victories!! Fantastic job, Rob... I didn't see you bellyflop in the pond though...

MTL21676
Jun 09 2003, 04:27 PM
yeah that Saturday layout was unreal.......one of the hardest courses ive ever played is Farm Life in that layout

Jun 09 2003, 06:55 PM
Yeah WCP on that layout came out to about 54.5, which would probably put it in the top 5 in the state. Somewhere in the company of The Castle, Renny, Buckhorn, and Kinston.

MTL21676
Jun 09 2003, 07:20 PM
but with 2 and 3, that course played pretty much as a par 57.....so 54.5 is belivable to me

Jun 09 2003, 07:46 PM
Come on Jody, I hope you're joking.

MTL21676
Jun 09 2003, 07:59 PM
the best round from the saturday was 53.....and that was by wheetie....then he shot a 63 the next round.......so 54.5 makes since to me

Jun 09 2003, 09:46 PM
No, I'm not joking. According to the stats that layout would be in the top five hardest in the state. I'm not saying its as tough as Castle, or Renny, I'm just naming those other courses as the other 4 in the top five.

The Castle and Renny would be the top 2, Buckhorn would be next, and then Kinston and Farm Life (Long) played about the same. And Hornet's Nest would be next according to the stats.

Jun 09 2003, 10:18 PM
here are the numbers:

Renaissance – 60.38
Castle – 59.96
Buckhorn – 57.88
Farm Life (long) – 54.49
Kinston – 53.79
Hornets Nest – 53.25

Jun 09 2003, 11:25 PM
Thanks Bert. It fealt good to play 4 solid rounds of disc golf. Farm Life plays to my game. Short, tight and straight. I held my own on the long layout too, shooting a 55 and 56 in the rain.

Congrats Moe, Nate, and Josh for victories as well. Congrats Jeremy for not being sub-Leonard.

Jun 09 2003, 11:30 PM
Very funny Rob. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

Jun 10 2003, 12:55 AM
I'd say you did alot more than hold your own. Good shootin Rob.

Jun 10 2003, 01:11 AM
jody i think the WCP for renny is higher now that they've reconfigured it

Jun 10 2003, 08:34 AM
And I think the Castle was 60.5.

Jun 10 2003, 11:50 AM
That could be true Jeff, I used the Pro Results from last years Points Bonanza.

Jun 10 2003, 02:12 PM
oh yeah, well my dad can beat up your dad!

Jun 11 2003, 01:26 PM

Jun 11 2003, 02:04 PM
Sorry Roy, Nate inducted me into Team Kingpin months ago & all I did was get munsoned out in the middle of the woods Sunday. Or is it "indicted"?

I was looking at the scores and I can't figure out how those adv masters guys played so much golf. Those guys were my buddies when I first started playing and I remember them as people who liked to hug a lot. I really don't see them playing, just sitting around the campsite. And Wizard was there too. Wow, I missed so much. Please don't schedule it the same weekend as my tournament next year and I promise to try to be there.

Jun 12 2003, 01:14 AM
Yeah there were a few old fogies out there last weekend. I don't know most of those guys cuz I am younger, but watching them, its like they are at a family reunion.

MTL21676
Jun 12 2003, 02:35 AM
geez Jody I'm a lot younger than you and I knew those guys....
