View Full Version : Innova Tour Bag?

Dec 04 2002, 02:38 PM
Anyone own or handled the new Innova Tour Bag? How does it compare with other bags on the market in terms of quality of materials, workmanship, capacity, price, etc.?

I looked at one the other day, looked nice. Similar to the tour bag in size and design, but with a cool mesh putter and side pockets. Actually, maybe more of a cross between the GDS Tour Bag and the Revolution bag. One insulated water bottle holder, a cell phone pocket and a couple of pencil pockets or some such deal. Also had some handles on the top, which look like they should be cut off in my opinion. Materials looked pretty heavy duty. Price was $70.00 at Disc 'n' Dat.

Oh, and they had somewhere between 16 and 18 discs inside the main pocket, without, those accordian dividers, ala the lightening bag. I believe that the innova website says that it will hold 30 discs, not sure about that unless you don't carry anything else and just stuff every available orafice with plastic. Much nicer than previous Innova bags though.

Or, you could just hit up Steve King, and tell him that you are only going to give him 50 for it.

Depends on where you can get me from I guess....actually, I think that I could just use a place to stay thats free or really cheap. I told king that I would have bought a tl from him, but I just ordered 3 from the internet. Marty bought one. So, you know anybody that would let me stay at their house in Norman or OKC?

I purchased the Tour bag and use it with Quad Shocks. I found it very comfortable to carry and balances well. Actually I really like the handles, but it does not seem to have the grips in the original photo. I carry 12 drivers and 5 midrange discs in the middle section very comfortably. I would say that around 20 drivers could fit in the interior, 2 in the putter pocket and 4 in each side pockets. Why anyone would want to carry that many discs is beyond me, but I guess that is where the numbers come from.

My only complaint is the Tour does not have a mini pocket for rapid retrieval or a scorecard slot. There is a side mesh pocket, but I have quite a few things in it.

Does anyone know what the back pocket with a zipper at the bottom is for? I cannot figure it out unless it was put there upside down by mistake.

A DG buddy has a PDGA bag and I would say it has a better pocket organization than the Tour, but I have no complaints about my purchase. Another pal is trying to decide between the Tour, PDGA, and the Revolution Club bag. I told him any pick would be a good choice.

Dale that zipper is for adaptation to luggage carts like you would use in an airport. You slide the handle of the cart through the area where the zipper is located.

Ahh, that explains it! Cool feature. I actually had it down as a clothes line. Such as wet socks hanging over it and such /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

All in all, this is a heck of a nice bag.

What exactly are the 2 strips with velcro on the ends for? Are they dividers you use if you take the accordian dividers out? But aside from that, it is a really nice bag. Plenty of room for disc and all the extras I carry during the round.

Those are dividers. I use them the accordians on the right and left side to hold my drivers and use the dividers to secure a place in the middle for my midrange discs.

Drivers on the left, midrange on the right, short range in the middle.
