Maybe I can get someone to Mountain Bike with me this year?
So this thread is for who???
I've got much to say on BS, but not on Randolph...unless you speak of Robert Randolph and the Family Band.
Team MOJO...that is the BS Family. Speak up MOJO...represent!
Mr. Mojo checkin' in. so BS when are you starting the "men in disc golf - team mojo" thread? frankly, there are too many men in disc golf - we need to use the mojo to bring in the ladies...

Let the BS Fly. NC Boyz sure know how to fling it. Wanna play disc with Hot Chicks guys? Try playing some Co-ed Ultimate. There's a BUNCH of hotties chucking discs in NC, many of whom aren't afraid to get naked at parties, just not your parties. Now why is that?

P.S.
I didn't name the thread. DiscGolfDude named it. As seen on his own thread, he hasn't been in a good mood recently. I guess he felt issues regarding recreational players were BS. Can't wait to meet this guy. I don't really want a thread with my name on it, but I'll try and contribute with some REAL BS. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
The comment about NC boyz is due to the extreme S--- talking displayed by many NC Ultimate players, so I shouldn't hold it against any golfers. Just looking at Johnson's username and profile, he looks like a good slinger of the BS though. Have at it.
Cheers,
Mike "wish I could play like Robert" Randolph
I can sling most anything with the best of them...especially the MOJO. I don't need the liquor to get them naked either. The MOJO has spoken. Come on Mike...don't you get the parallelism in my alias. I don't play much ultimate anymore, but when I did, the NC boys were ruling the world.

I do like your alias. Nice and Low Key.
Good to see another converted Ultimate player. Most switch 'cause of injury. Why'd you switch?
Their still tearin it up. NC boyz made the finals at Nationals, but lost to the Canucks from Vancouver? Raleigh Llama won Nationals two years ago in Co-ed. NC State won College Nationals in '99.
Don't you miss the Ultimate parties? Liquor or no? What about those Boat races. Land Porpoises...Oooh Yeeahh...I'd love to see golfers doing boat races sometime! But no Landsharks! How 'bout Innova vs. Discraft? Place your Bets....
Only slinging I've done in NC was at Charlotte Worlds.

How does one get on team Mojo?
ahh ultimate converts - i was one o' those - ben budd got me into ultimate(black dog ultimate rules) and then disc golf (i owe him my discin' career). i wanna get back into ultimate... good times - hard D was where it's at.
the team mojo governing body needs to meet to quantify actual team entry procedure - alls i can tell you is the hazing.... well maybe i can't tell you

you have to place in the top ten of a superdrunk rock skipping event held at one of the qualifying regionals...
i would like to state for the record -
David Bihl does not represent team mojo.
such egregious slander will not be tolerated.

Get 'em Mr. MOJO Reiser...
David...We spank no man, and women only if they ask. The MOJO is a state of mind, similar to the "Zone" that so many inferior sports make reference to. You must exhibit MOJO worthiness in a variety of facets...Come to a NC tourney and you shall experience one, if not all, of the force that is MOJO.

Come on out to Kiss The Sky and get your MOJO workin' at 11,000 feet. You may spank no man, but the mountain has no problem with it.
No rock skipping, but you could bounce one a loooonnnngggg way.
I shall attempt to demonstrate my MOJO-worthiness in all facets...particularly during the gondola ride ;)

My MOJO doesn't get Beat, it get's Burned. ;)
I'd put Colorado MOJO against NC Mojo anyday!
That is a bold declaration directed towards the state that houses the original MOJO...We can meet in the middle...say like KC, to test your ludicrous theory. The entire MOJO bids you good day, and hopes that a chapter of the MOJO can be welcomed to your state. Grab some guys and dolls and get started. This is the consensus that our gracious members have come to. Let us be MOJO bro's.
BS aka Double-crossing Red i.
smokin to much mojo gives ya crossed red eyes
(burning) to much mojo gives ya crossed red eyes
Yeah...ol' Randolph sounds like a prime candidate for starting the newest chapter of the book that is MOJO. Don't cross me.
Get MOHO's for the MOJO...
Team MOJO is growing...The newest members to stroke the pole are MOHO and J-BLO...The MOJO is coming to a course near you...Don't miss the Reis...
Sweet! I ain't the only open player on the squad.Nice to see to take the loot BS.

I don't know how I missed this thread when it started but I think it's time that Mike takes it back. How about some words of wisdom Mr. Drivethru?
What up PP...I had to take the Flow yo for the MOJO...
MOHO (Hoffman) is on the squad now too, so the PROMOJO is being represented well...We are trying to get Mandi to join, but we have not officially proposed anything yet.
MOJO on the Rise
Can I caddy for team MOJO in non-Kentwood events? Haha. Better yet, how about starting a minor league MOJO team, maybe call it Lil' Mojo.
You shall be its first member...and smallest member Naked...interpret this however you want.

BS,
Any MOJO constitutional rules I should know about?
Josh,
Now that the sun stays out longer, I try to get out every day to play. Usually on campus cause it's closer and the wildlife's more attractive ;)
Sounds like you need to update your profile, which says you live in Dallas?
I haven't played since Kiss The Sky last July, so not really prepared to be competing over practicing. E-mail me directly if you want to go throw sometime?
TEAM MOJO
Honored to be considered for membership, but still have to say, get your own thread /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
"MOJO worthiness in a variety of facets".
Well put.
Nothing like those rookie MOJO wanna-be's who don't take the power seriously. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
MoJo: You've got to get into it to get out of it.
wanna-be's? ha, we ARE.
mojo rules us like the "force."
it is not a power to be wielded, rather accepted.
we are merely the vessel.
DTL- appologies for hi-jacking the thread occasionally. we're just trying to keep it available for ya.

THE BEET ROLLS ON
Howdy Folks...
Just thought I'd share a few thoughts...recently quit my engineering job in preparation for a summer of golfin! The Memorial finish (t-51) was in the middle of bad period for me struggling with the decision to quit, and was a great eye-opener to the high and deep level of competition today. Very exciting to see the growth and professionalism.
So to raise funds for my return to golfin...I have been hustling around Fort Collins in my 1954 Dodge Beet Truck (14' side-dumping bed) with some ladders and chainsaws. We had 40" of snow conveniently the week after I quit, which created lots and lots of work for a guy triming and hauling damaged branches and trees.
Anyway...6 weeks later, I'm on the road with some cash in the bank and sights set on getting the game back together...Looking forward to meeting some new folks and making some sweet shots...Here's a little list of my plans just in case anyone actually cares...
Michiana - South Bend
Mid-America - Columbia
Team Challenge - Sandy Point
Animalfest - Warwick
New Mexico States/Pittsburgh FDO
Detroit Tigers vs. Colorado Rockies - Coors Field
- Waited 10 years for this one!! -
Doe Valley - Guffey CO
Minnesota Majestic - Twin Cities
Wide Open - Kansas City
Kiss The Sky - Aspen
High County Challenge - Leadville/Frisco
WORLDS - You know where, see ya there
Cheers,
Randolph
New Mexico States is full and I didn't see you on the list. I guess you already owe me that case of Fat Tire now. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
I care.../msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif Good luck and see you in Aspen.

Mike....Very excited that you've selected Animalfest (Warwick NY) as one of your visits. We welcome back a past champion! You'll hopefully enjoy the course(s) even more than when you were in town the last time a few years ago!!
Good luck Mike. I have a picture for you taken the last year of 150 class at Aspen. I have not been back since but won't miss it this July/msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
Don't forget to take the MOJO with you...it will prove to be the difference.
Mike...those shirts are in production right now...they are sweeter than southern ice tea...
There will be a link up to see those shirts on the MOJO thread, so go check 'em out bro...
Peace and good luck with your tour!

Thanx for the love guys!
Finished pretty good at the Michiana Open. Was good to remember all (well some anyways) of the things you have to do to play consistently good rounds. Mental game...practice routine...preparations for weather, food, etc...
The tie for 6th was WAY BETTER than the 51st at the Memorial. Granted the field was different, but my play was much improved. Edged out Darrel Nodland back in the Fort for Grateful Disc which was a good confidence builder. All the touring pros should be happy that guy doesn't go on Tour. We hope to see him this summer at either KC or Steilicom.
Got to stay with the Girlfriends folks for the weekend. It was her birthday today too...lots of good vibes to start so it's off to Columbia to see if I can improve a little more. Baby steps Mike...Baby steps.
Later folks...Keep em' flyin' straight /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
Bye the way...How's your crandolph?
Mike,
Will you be coming through St louis?
We have a few courses you may want to play.
mike, glad to hear you are touring again. have you ever shared any of your distance tips on this board?
i remember the first time i got to see you play, you were part of the final 9 with ken,dan-o, and i think 2 cali guys at the las vegas tourney back in '95 and watching you and ken take 3's on the 900 temp hole was awe inspiring. during that same finals, you and ken both deuced a 425-450 footer when you both threw over (instead of around like us mortals) the baseball field fence.
i remember making a comment to you like " when my disc dreams, it flies like yours"

Dave,
Am planning to come through St. Louis on Wednesday evening. Currently am travelling with World Champ Peter Shive, who unfortunately has injured his arm and can't throw right-handed at the moment. He is getting much better with his left hand though, which is quite admirable. He thought we should stay with Juliana and Shawn, and it's his car...DO you have their Phone #?
I would love to play on Thursday morning before heading to Columbia. You should give me a call on the cell ASAP so we can hook up for dinner or something? (970)222-2546
Average,
Aahhhh, the good old days. I really like getting in final 9's with folks who don't throw that far, makes me look good. I do remember having pretty good control of my long game at that time. I certainly have never had the extra Hiiiyyyaaaa that could compete in the distance comps, but having the control at full power has served me well. Not quite sure what tips I could share that I haven't read from some other golfers.
I think the most important thing to consider when trying to throw long golf shots (as opposed to pure distance shots, which I really don't know much about) is to maintain the same form that you use on lesser shots, then reach just a little farther back, run-up with slightly longer strides, and wait to explode until you've already started your swing. If you explode too early your timing won't be there and you'll lose both power and accuracy. Make sure your energy level is up before the shot too. I like to psyche myself up before a big drive so I can give it my best effort. Remember, throwing really far just allows you to throw really far...into the woods. If you can't reach it, just play some real golf and hit the fairway and approach shots for your easy par.
Love the quote. My discs are starting to fly where I want them to again. It's been awhile, but the game's coming back. Makes me appreciate how much control I had back in the day.
Hope I can impress you again sometime soon.
Cheers,
Randolph
Sounds like some BS to me...
Jr. Mafia on the rise!
~Andrew Boyd (Boydman)
p.s. BS, how did you and Luke Schmallfeld end up on the same team @ random doubles? If that isn't stacking, I don't know what is.
Boyd...
Luke is an am and I am a pro...I can't help the draw, and the fact that Luke may be the best am out there. I wasn't satisfied with tying the course record though...it will be mine one day!
Stop hijacking Mike's thread Boyd...Direct these type posts to the Team MOJO thread...
I know you didn't know though...
Peace
Oh yea...the Jr. Mafia is on the rise! I can't wait to see you boys start bustin' some heads...
where's the mojo thread?
but dont you think luke should be playing at least adv? Didn't you hit the chains on a 115' putt that would've gotten the course record?
Ok, I cant find the mojo thread.
BS, are you going to KW doubles tomorrow (5/8)? if so, bring a lighter.

YeeeeHaaaaa,
Well *****...didn't win, but sure impressed the he!! outta myself...Strangest Worlds scenario I've ever been a part of...I think I was on the lead or second card all week in reality, but didn't make it there till semifinals?!? Prolly easier that way really.
I have no idea how things should have played out after the weather issue...Dan-o was ready for afternoon showers and lightning, but that was no ordinary afternoon storm.
Personally I knew when the tee times were posted that the possibility that I would get better conditions that those teeing later was very high...i think others did too, but I don't recall anyone making a stink about it...until it slapped us all in the face.
Try and imagine shooting the course record the first round of the Worlds...and for the next 6 or 7 hours, all the talk is that it won't even count? Then, even after the call is made to count the round, not really knowing until Friday afternoon (after another hail storm mind you) that the entire A&B pool did indeed complete their rounds and the round from 4 DAYS AGO actually counts...
Has anyone else ever moved from 11th to 4th without touching a disc? (Went to the Grand Canyon instead...which is a whole other post)
Anyway...even though I'm bummed we did't get to play SnoBowl twice...and my chance to win the Worlds at elevation has passed...I'm pretty pshyched /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif Flagstaff is beautiful...Hope you made it !!
I rememeber kicking Barry's arse back when I toured (not much in 2000, though)...Now he's touring, and I can barely get close enough to even see his backside...There was no-one more deserving of the Title than Barry...A hearty Congratulations to the Champ!!!
A special thanx to all my friends and family (disc golf and otherwise) that have given me so much support this year...the credit for my success falls squarely on you...Thank You...Thank You...Thank You

Mike, have you ever played Harvest Moon?

Negative...Have a few Arkansas friends that have hyped that tournament as being a lot of fun...I've played against some of the locals who came out to Fort Collins for our FrightFlight tournament a few years ago...cool cats for sure...Pretty sure there was one golfer in particular I was introduced too...Trucker maybe? Roadie? Probably in his early to mid thirties? Arkansas is one of the 15 states I have never golfed in /msgboard/images/clipart/sad.gif
Also gotta give props to my old college teamate and pretty good golfer himself Scotty Conway--Captain of the back-to-back National and defending World champion Donner Party!
