Aloha everyone,

A friend & I are flying from Hawaii at the end of this month (September) to California to attend a wedding. So, of course we arranged our itinerary to leave a week early and Disc Golf our way down the coast. Our plans are as follows:

Sat (sept 20th): DeLaViega
Sun (sept 21st): ****See Below****
Mon (sept 22nd): Santa Maria
Tues (sept 23rd): La Mirada

For our Sunday rounds, we have been eyeballing a loop consisting of Novato (Safford Lake), Napa (Skyline Wilderness), and Berkeley (Aquatic Park). I have never played these courses before, so I would love to hear feedback on them from anybody on the message board. From my internet research, Novato looks like a 1st class course, & Berkeley looks technical & fun. I cannot find any useful info or maps on Napa's course, so please net me know if it is worth playing, or should we just go for an extra round at Safford Lake.

Also, I noticed on the course directory that San Luis Obispo has a 9 hole course. Is it stopping there for a quick round on the way down to Santa Maria???

Thanks, Jordan

Jordan, Novato & Napa are both excellent course. Berkeley is good too, but has a lot of merky water where you can loose many discs. Many. With all respect, I would put that one at the end of yuur loop in case you run short on time.
I have actually done at loop, or tried in a day. You'll have to leave early. Where from? I would really go Novato, to Napa, and back down through Aquatic.

Novato will take a lot of your arm. (distance)

Napa will take a lot of your patience (Hilly, and you can roll away quite far. The "Napa Roll" is Not a kind of Sushi ; )

Berkeley will just take what's left of your plastic ; ) It's not as long as the others, but again, water & wind looms on may holes, and it's not the kind of stuff you can see into to grab your disc out. It's a great course, but you wouldn't want to get to Novato without your favorite driver : )

Have a blast.

Hopefully I'll see you at Dela the 20th? We'll be prepping for the Faultline. Ask around, I'm not hard to find.

If you're in Maui in Feb. I'll see you then.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the info!!! I'm glad to hear that the Napa course is worthy to throw a round on. Like you recommended John, we're going to play Novato 1st, Napa 2nd, and Aquatic Park 3rd, if there's time. We'll be leaving from San Jose, so I'm estimating about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get to Novato. I figure that if we can tee off in Novato by about 8:00am or so, we'll be in good shape to hit all 3 (unless we like Novato so much that we have to throw a 2nd round, but we might be pretty beat up from playing 2 rounds at DeLaViega the previous day).

Does anybody know where I can find and printout a course map of Napa's course??? I always like to be prepared.

John, maybe I'll see you at DeLaViega & I'll definitely be seeing you in Maui!!! I still haven't played Poli Poli yet. I REALLY need to get myself over there.
