2009 Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

09 hall of fame inductees

Lynne Warren "Crazy" John Brooks, and Michael Sullivan will be inducted into the Disc Golf Hall of Fame in 2009.

The Disc Golf Hall of Fame is an organization independent of the PDGA that is dedicated to the promotion of disc golf, its premier pioneers, and players. Inductees are selected annually by the members of the hall of fame and until this year their names were not announced until the PDGA Awards Ceremony/DGHOF Induction Ceremony held at the World Championships. Earlier this year, the decision was made to announce the inductees prior to the World Championships this year and in the future.

The Disc Golf Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that Lynne Warren, "Crazy" John Brooks, and Michael Sullivan will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the PDGA Pro/Am World Championships in Kansas City, Missouri. Please join with the PDGA and Hall of Fame in congratulating these esteemed inductees and thanking them for their valuable contributions to our sport.

History:

Lavone Wolfe of Huntsville Alabama founded the hall of fame in 1993 and was the chairman of the first board of directors. Lavone also created the Hall of Fame Museum, a collection of memorabilia that help describe the history of our sport, that is currently located at the PDGA International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia. Al "Speedy" Guerrero is the administrator/director of the hall of fame and oversees the elections process as well as marketing and promotion.

Voting:

Members of the Hall of Fame nominate members of the disc golf community. This list of nominees is then presented to the members of the hall of fame for voting and the top vote getters are inducted.
