The first 4 holes (short) have trees. The remainder are mostly open, but longer. Wind is often the biggest challenge, although occasionally an island bison may wander onto the fairway.

On Catalina. The only way here is by private boat or ferry from San Pedro, or ferry via Avalon from Long Beach, Marina Del Rey or Dana Point. 1st tee is on the west side of the old Civil War barracks (now Isthmus Yacht Club).
Like the description says first few holes are short and some trees and after that it opens up ,gets up to 470ft .I Went there on a vacation with family was nice to play while I was out there visiting , tees are dirt and wood chips
