Lester Lorch Park - Beaver DGC
What course maps? Didn't find the second course the first day had to go back and ask some locals.
It's a nice course. The course maps are pretty accurate, so you don't have to worry about getting lost. The only matter to be careful about are the poison snakes. So, don't get off the trials.
Narrow holes which are not cleared out enough to really throw and unleash your distance drivers. Most shots need to be taken with a mid-range or straight flying fairway driver so as not to be back in a thicket somewhere right off of the tee. The terrain is very hilly in this area and with there being 2 18 hole courses right next to each other, I would think the holes could be better designed to make use of this opportunity to design at least 1 really good course. There are too many good courses in the DFW area for me to make the drive out to this course again.
This course is not for Beginners, and neither is the Coyote course, beware!! However,if you have several shots in your arsenal and your looking to add a few and become more accurate, this course can be loads of fun for you. The only downfall, is the mud after the rain, makes it nearly impossible to play nearly half the holes. Outside of that, the course is top-notch, well maintained, great tee boxes and decent signs which give you easy navigation to the next hole. You may lose a disc in several of its water shots as they can be difficult to cross. I will definitely go back even if the drive is far.
Don't bring your pro plastic!!
