The Beginning of the End of the 2015 Season

USDGC Begins Wednesday Morning

Tuesday, October 6, 2015 - 20:52

One of the premier disc golf events each and every year, the United States Disc Golf Championships, begins tomorrow morning in Rock Hill, SC. The USDGC is the unofficial end of the disc golf season, and what a way to go out. The difficulty of the Winthrop Gold course combined with the incredible media coverage that Spin 18 will be providing all weekend ensures that the season will end with a bang.

Media Coverage

At this point in the world of disc golf, live coverage isn’t just desired, it is expected. For this four day event, the live streaming will begin on the second to last day for Round 3 on Friday and it will continue for the final round on Saturday.

The live streaming will be complimented by post-production round coverage, interviews, and more, all of which can be seen on The Spin TV on Youtube. And if that wasn’t enough, there will also be episodes of The Insider Show each night starting after Round 1 on Wednesday evening, with new episodes airing each night of the event.

The entire USDGC broadcast schedule can be seen on the official USDGC website.

Both the Open Flight and Performance Flight live scores can be seen on usdgclive.com as well, starting with Round 1 tomorrow morning. Tee times begin at 7:50am EDT for both the Open Flight and Performance flight divisions. Follow @usdgclive on Twitter for updates.

Winthrop Gold

Hole 5 has been modified so that the tee shot plays over the water.

Winthrop Gold is the kind of course that dreams are made of. Or nightmares. It’s designed to test the skill and endurance of the top players in the world. Ropes line a majority of the fairways and the dreaded stroke and distance rules are often in play, meaning if your disc ends up OB you have to throw again from where you last threw, with penalty, instead of throwing from where your disc last crossed inbounds.

The USDGC has pushed the limits of disc golf to a new level in years past and this year is no exception. Several holes have been redesigned to become even more difficult, making Winthrop Gold even more of a threat than ever before.

Winning the USDGC is considered by many to be right up there with winning the world championships. All eyes are on Paul McBeth #27523, as he takes on Winthrop Gold once more with the hopes of finally capturing a USDGC victory to round out a near perfect 2015 season. Check USDGC.com and follow the USDGC on Facebook and Twitter for updates, links, pictures, and information. The world will be watching tomorrow morning! See you in Rock Hill!
