World Rankings Update - July 2012

Friday, July 6, 2012 - 09:40

World Rankings have been updated for events thru mid-June 2012. Nate Doss and Valarie Jenkins are still ranked #1 in the World. Will Schusterick and David Feldberg move within striking distance of the #1 ranking with excellent play in the past month. The winner of Worlds among these three top players will retain, earn for the first time, or regain the top spot, respectively. Doss just tied Feldberg in this ratings update with the highest rating of all time at 1046. The men will have a tough challenge to unseat reigning World Champ Doss.

Valarie Jenkins did something in this ratings update no woman has ever achieved. She is the first woman to earn a PDGA player rating in the 970s with a 973. Reigning World Champ Paige Pierce edged past Sarah Stanhope Cunningham to second in the World Rankings. Sarah Hokom and Catrina Allen have also been doing very well on tour. The Worlds in Charlotte should provide quite a battleground for these five women.

Continental Rankings were not updated this time to keep the focus on Worlds and use those results to update the Continental Rankings after the next ratings update in August.
