Day One: Am World Doubles

Sunday, March 25, 2012 - 11:06

A full field of 108 teams started the day playing through the morning fog here at the Circle R Ranch. The fog and morning dew made things interesting for the early round.

Then, the fog subsided to a cool overcast sky and players started making their move. By late afternoon the beating hot Texas sun reared and everthing started to heat up.

In the Advanced Men's field, Joseph Stettinger and Michael Scrivner hold a two stroke lead over River Eagle and Michael Ludwig going into tomorrow. In intermediate, the Pool B leaders are Matthew Wright and James Kuhn and in Pool C, it's the father-daughter team of Bruce and Kelsey Brakel. Tiffany Brogdon and Kristina Gold jumped out to a seven throw lead in Advanced Women's. In Advanced Masters, Jack Tabor and Kevin Curran are holding six throws ahead of second and, last but definitely not least, Bart Taylor and Mike Anderson take a three throw cushion moving into round three. The weather forecast for Sunday predicts beautiful, clear skies and warm 80's. We'll be looking for teams to be playing aggressive to try to make their way into the Finals in the afternoon.
